    Hi! Jose. Another great information video. You pointed out the very real problem we deal with in our British Columbia Canadian neighborhoods very restrictive zoning requirements. As you say Merida / Caucel and other areas in Mexico allow for more freedom to conduct business from home, independent street vendors & stores. It's a different lifestyle and I like it! 👍

    Thanks so much for this! I used to be a realtor here in in Iowa/Illinois. I saw a ton of new construction homes all the time. They were all HUGE. It was just obscene. I wish they'd allow neighborhoods like this. It would solve so many problems in the US. People here would absolutely love homes like thes3. Its really sad that people are so controlling that way.

My wife has a cancer problem now and if she succumbs to it, I will have to leave the country or marry someone else. I can't do that because I'm 78 years old and have no wish to get use to another female in my life. I saw your video by accident and decided to watch it out of curiosity. I like what I saw! So, God forbid, my wife loses this battle, you just may have given me a location I can find peace in. I've subbed and will continue to watch. Thank you for this video. I've not seen any videos on how the process really is like going across the Mexican u.s. border like how much it really costs to get permits and tourist fmm and just to travel in one's own vehicle car can cost near $1000 and Mexico makes everyone put up a deposit when bringing a vehicle into Mexico upwards to $400 usd it's insane how the border is charging people the way they are

    The smoke from trash being burned throughout Mexico caused my eyes to close while driving this is probably why there are so many accidents in Mexico. My eye become super irritated from the smoke. My other gripe is that almost none of the massive sized speed bumps are painted stripped. I was constantly having to slam on my brakes as I was nearly launched off of the speed bumps that appeared out of nowhere. The speed bumps match the road there is no contrast. The air pollution from smoke is so bad that I had to pull over and pour water into my eyes.

    New white Nissan ?
    Seems like hundreds of UNSOLD houses in that development. I see that owner has closed in and gated the front of his house. Is that necessary for security ?
    Are the Mexicans buying these houses considered middle class or upper class ?
    They come furnished from the builder ?
    I like the long rods for hanging clothes in the open, in the upper bedroom. I've installed that same thing myself because clothes stay fresher
    I'd rather live near downtown myself

    Why is it spelled "Caucel"? I understand it's an indigenous name and the second "c" is pronounced with a hard "c" sound. So why didn't it get spelled "Cauquel" in accordance with Spanish rules of grammar? It's not as if the indigenous people had our current alphabet.

      Great question! I have no clue. In fact I did a quick Google search and it says it is a Mayan word for "Rock Quarry" which makes sense if you know the Yucatan. Very interesting place that will be seeing a lot more growth in the future.

    What's the point to living in a place that is just like Florida. Seems like you would be missing out on living in Mexico.

    • @JoseArteagaTravels
      @JoseArteagaTravels  5 месяцев назад

      There are many reason to live out here. I for one love the year round weather. I hate the cold. Also we visit much of Mexico and it is always nice to come home to the Yucatan. Whenever we travel many Mexicans are envious we live out in paradise and not in the mountains. It is all about perspective and also depends on what the individual personally likes. I am a native Floridian and really love how similar it is to back home. Again its not for everyone. Thanks for sharing!

    The lack of trees and greenery on that new neighborhood is just wrong and irresponsible in weather such as the Yucatan. I wonder why people do not take interest, or deem important to shade their homes, their streets! Makes my skin burn just looking at those apocalyptic streets!
