Great to see you guys checking out other band's music. You guys inspired a part of my band I recently formed. I do the vocals and Spencer's advice about singing along to songs outside your range is something I took very seriously when I started getting really into music.

I mean if it's the screams that bother you, they have stuff with little to no screaming with amazing singing and lyrics. Usually when I suggest people metal music it's usually screaming. I literally had to constantly expose myself to screaming non stop for a good few months before I got used to it

As a huge fan of both Melanie Martinez and Periphery, this made me incredibly happy. Hail Stan and K-12 are two of the strongest releases this year all genres included.
I listen to all kinds of music but mostly under the Metal genre, however twenty one pilots is one of my favorite bands and it's awesome to see a band like Periphery recognize their talent.
I find that a lot of metal or rock musicians have very diverse musical tastes and can unironically enjoy a variety of music genres. Kind of the opposite for some (not all) pop-musicians or hip-hop artists; they'll listen to metal and go "Ew, it's just noise."

I grew up listening black metal, but when I heard Melanie Martinez voice and music style, I have to know more about her, she is so unique and unlike anything I have heard in the commercial pop world.
Next time let them listen to Double Dare. Fandom will never compare to that album. I respect their opinion, and they were very respectful about it, but Waterparks has some bangers, in my opinion.
