    As a UK motorcyclist and as someone who thinks that H&S has gone over the top in the UK I do get the argument about freedom and personal choice, but I draw the line when it comes to putting children on motorcycles, they don’t have a choice do they !

    • @alan4x
      @alan4x  22 дня назад +1

      yes totally, the laws here are not that dissimilar to road laws in the uk but simply not enforced here in mindanao and if caught 4 up on a motorcycle by land transportation officers the penalty is usually little more than a fine

  • @PhilippinesMyParadise

    You're a good Samaritan indeed. That was very kind of two of you to conquer your fear and shock and to help transferring them to the emergency room, instead of waiting for the imbalance, but not if the person's was severely injured, moving them might cause more damage. You are Gods send to that family. Talk about being at the right place at the right time... A motorcycle might be and probably the only means of transporting a poor Filipino family who live in remote area of the province can afford, so no one to blame in this case but the loose stray dogs all over the roads. God bless you, and your loved ones. Good luck and best regards po/Ned 👍🎉👍

    • @alan4x
      @alan4x  22 дня назад +1

      thank you, at first it looked worse than it was so really glad on that point. there was a growing number of people by the side of the road but nothing much happening, Khen had to phone a friend to call the ambulance as we did not know who to call while at the same time just run the kid to the nearest hospital. the mother and father arrived soon afterwards by ambulance and were treated. Khen tells me as the police turned up that if they find the owner of that dog they will press that person to pay the medical expenses for the injured family

      yes been caught out a number of times as well, in England all I used to see was dog walkers walking their dogs mostly on leads but here I believe most of these dogs do actually belong to people but they are allowed to roam free on the roads which I am sure have contributed to many accidents

      @WhiteDieselShed 22 дня назад

      Crazy but they had the choice which is the point of the video. You can dress up in all the gear, but if they had 4 on one bike then buying a car was probably above their means.
      Possibly buying all the kit for 4 people may have been above their means?

    • @alan4x
      @alan4x  21 день назад

      many of these people are barely surviving on a daily basis so buying full leathers and helmets is not exactly top of their priorities

  • @scottallman9324
    @scottallman9324 22 дня назад +4

    Its one thing if those adults want to to make that choice to not wear helmets or anything but it is beyond stupid to take your kids on on a bike like that they have no choice. This is why some laws are needed to protect those who have no say. I agree England has gone too far and is in a shit state but the Philippines has beeen around long enough to have a few more basic laws and protection for children.
    The Philippines is another country where those at the top take all the money and the people have nothing they are an expendible commodity to their government they dont care thats why there is no road safety at least in England any parent who did that with a child or children would be jailed and lose their kids and rightfully so.

    Please don't take this the wrong way.... You simply can not compare the UK to the Philippines. Road deaths in the Philippines is around 8 times that of the UK. A significant number are drink drive related. Which means, as safely as you drive YOUR vehicle, there is a huge chance YOU will die through no fault of your own by being wiped out by a selfish idiot that thinks it's a good idea to drink and drive. Helmets are for a good reason, I travel SE Asia a lot and would NEVER ever consider getting on a motor bike pillion or rider without wearing one. When I ride in the UK, it's always with full leathers, gloves and Helmet. Remember this, life in the Philippines is cheap, that is why the government don't insist on correct safety measures.
    In the Philippines there are costs involved in just being able to work/get a job, to obtain necessary paperwork. This does not apply to the UK as it's free.
    Entering a major retail store you will have to hand in your previously purchased shopping for security and that the authourities and store don't trust you not to steal. There are a lot of armed guards in the Philippines.... Do I want to live in a country where there are an abundance of guns, NO
    If it weren't for the abundance, availability and willingness of Philippine women in the country, do you think there would be so many expat men there, ABSOLUTELY NOT.
    Don't get me wrong, I love all of SE Asia, it's a wonderful place, but you can not compare apples with pears. The amount of brutal killings undertaken by the PM Rodrigo Duterte to tackle drug abuse is outrageous. This is a country better than the UK? I think not.
