I like many others here on your channel, are active viewers, because we are considering which boat to buy. Your honest and balanced assessments are extremely valuable. We the consumers, are watching, while shaking our heads at Volvo. Wishing you better days ahead friend.
Thank you so much. Very kind of you. And thanks for watching
As an Aquila 44 owner with a blown port engine (Volvo)
I’m cheering for the same level of support from Marine Max that you received. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Dave, Raul & Phil have been friends for years
Yanmar!
That's scary, as I'm looking at 44 with Volvos too.. Do you mind sharing when that happened - how many hours, etc? Maybe the motors are underpowered for the boat weight?
Hoping they get you quickly back on schedule. I would be demanding to know if the transmission they are using is an updated version or if it’s just kicking the can down the road until they get you out of warranty. Good luck.
That discussion is ongoing. Thanks so much for watching!!
Probably because your channel is attracting a lot of viewers, they don't want a bad review, who knows if it's the same treatment for the average owner. Thanks for your videos
It’s probably not. Celebrities get special treatment all the time. I’m not a celebrity but I have a voice. And I’d like to use it for change. No one else should experience what we did. Thanks for watching
@@thewanderinghillbilly hahaha.. You have a "Voice".. I see what you did there!
South African captain. Definitely in good hands 👍
Hah. Indeed!
Having problems is one thing but the service Marine Max is providing is outstanding, I get nowhere that level of service from Semi dealers when something goes wrong. And you definitely deserved the drink :)
Yes I did!!!! Thanks for watching
You are very good guy and you value your family and wife like a real man, seen your face when you complemented your wife is a true example of that. God bless you and have safe trip everywhere you decide to go.
Wow, thank you. And thanks so much for watching
We had a similar problem in August ‘23 in the BVIs on a chartered Aquila 54’ from Nanny Cay. Starboard transmission overheating and slipping as we were docking at Scrub Island. Could’ve been a costly issue. MarineMax vacations were great but they didn’t sound surprised when we told them of the problem.
Yeah it’s an issue. Glad you guys were good. Thanks for watching
Sorry man but you’re handling it like a pro. I met Raul last week at the Miami show on the 54. Raul strikes me as a straight shooter and the 54 is awesome. All boats have issues and in my opinion, you’ve been honest and pleasant in your assessment. If you only spoke of the positives, I’d have a tough time believing you! And, I will definitely continue to shop between the Aquila 54 and the FP 7. Enjoy your extended stay at Ft. Pierce and keep the great videos coming!
Thanks so much! Personally….would never purchase the FP. Was my favorite at first…not any more. Thanks for watching
@@thewanderinghillbilly ouch! Why the change away from the FP?
So, nothing anyone can really say will make it any better. The good news is you have Captain Dave. He did my delivery with me from Sarasota to Ft Lauderdale on my 44 Aquila. You are in great hands. Ask him about be knocked over in his sailboat with the family onboard. He keeps his cool and is methodical.
Best of luck getting this resolved.
He’s the best!!! And thanks for watching!
Awesome situational awareness Allen, and what a blessing to have hired Captain Dave. You probably could have handled it, but just what it does for you stress levels. Allen, I am retired and if you ever need crew or someone to hold the camera for you, let me know. I have absolutely NO experience, but a fast learner, hard worker, pay my own way and no drama. I know you probably will never need this, but just throwing it out there.
Hah. Thanks. I always have one crew member hold the camera at times. Sometimes that’s good…sometimes not so much! Thanks for watching
Hey now. Once I got the camera pointed in the right direction, everything was fine - mostly 😂.
Wow, so scary. Glad Marine Max is taking care of you. My question is the new transmission an upgrade or just the same. I would demand to know the exact failure mode and how the new transmission’s address the failure.
To be continued…thanks for watching
You have the right to feel frustrated and disappointed. If there is a known problem with the transmissions then a company the size of Volvo should have been proactive in replacing/upgrading or whatever was necessary to avoid this from happening. Bon courage!
Thanks so much! And thanks for watching
Thank you for sharing this emotional experience and the good editing. We all understand that BOAT is merely an acronym for ‘Bring Out Another Thousand’ but on such a new and wonderful model it must have felt so disappointing. I am pleased that you are getting good support and will now look for the next video in the sequence. I had missed this episode and have been enjoying your adventures in BVI.
Thanks so much!
Aquila and Volvo have to understand the benefit they've received from the positive's they've received from your videos and what this could mean for them, but also accept the negative when their product(s) (which is still relatively brand new) fails horribly all within the first year of ownership. If their products are rock solid the benefits of exposure on your channels will be exponential... but if their product(s) prove unreliable the benefits to the potential consumers is exponential. MarineMax has been shining from your reports in how they're responding... but Aquila and Volvo has some ground to make up as their light has been seriously diminished in many eyes because this 54' is a potential sweet spot for a lot of prospective new buyers.! I wish you a speedy resolution and to resume your epic adventure asap!!
Amazing comment. Thanks so much. Means a lot
Kudos for letting us share you dreams, and the associated bumps along the road. Even though it wasn't great timing, you did learn some valuable information and experience for when things don't go as planned. That just makes you a stronger person (and captain). I appreciate your honesty and openness to share the bumps as well as the smooth sailings. Hey captain - "you've got this." Follow your bliss. It's always the right path.
Thanks so much! Great comments. And thanks for watching
Thank for sharing. So sorry you are dealing with this. You were clearly looking forward to your trip and having your friends and family join you. Total bummer but hang in there and know that your videos are great and I really appreciate you sharing your adventures and challenges with us. We can live vicariously through you. You've built a great life, challenges and all! Congratulations!
This is a great comment. Thanks so much and thanks for watching
Thanks for your channel, I enjoy watching for the travels and living vicariously with you... We are also about 6-10 months from pulling the trigger on buying our next boat. You are helping me decide on the Aquila. Have heard pros and cons on Marine Max, looking forward to the rest of the story. I will recommend that you get a commission if we go this route!!!! Safe travels!!!
That is awesome! Yes me loves a commission! Hah. Thanks for watching
I have a Nautitech 47 Power Cat with Volvo engines. We had no shortage of challenges with the Volvo engines, primarily with the electronic sensors that control everything between engines, throttles and panels. And for the first six months, the engines couldn’t reach max RPM, they maxed out at 2,800 RPM. Turned out that Volvo had miss-wired a bunch of stuff. Unfortunately we didn’t have Marine Max like you, our broker here in Miami is terrible. My advice to you: while Volvo puts the new transmission, you may have them check all sensors as well. And carry a spare transmission sensor on board please! Ours crapped out. Easy to replace the sensor but a headache if you don’t have a spare one
Yeah the sensors have been an issue from day one. Sorry for your experience. Thanks for watching
So sorry to hear about the Transmission, but I do like the Aquila boats. I hope the new trans are better or fixed from the same problem. I have watched all your RUclips and liked them all. Can't wait until you get to BVI.
I can’t wait either! Thanks for watching
Great news Allen, looking forward to seeing you head out on your adventures!
Thanks 👍
So happy you pointed out it’s not a boat issue, it’s a powertrain issue. I’ve had the same conversation one too many times.
thanks for watching!
I’m glad everything is going to work out, Alan. Thanks for your honesty and genuine approach on this channel. I look forward to your future adventures!
Much appreciated and thank for watching
We own the same boat and it's our third Aquila from MarineMax and they are the best. They don't treat you like a customer, they treat you like family! Aquila's don't suck either. Our third one. All boats have issues, Aquila is no different. But the pros far outweigh the cons.
Probably the best comment yet. Agree with you totally. You would see me selling if I didn’t LOVE this yacht. Thanks for watching
Aww man! This bummed me! I love living vicariously through you! Well wishes on getting back up and running quickly!
Thank you!!!!!
We had twin Volvo Pentas on my father's Spindrift. No issues going to Catalina. This was 1984-1997.
New day new problems I guess. Thanks for watching
Wow... What a story! Never seen your channel before, but I think it popped up in my feed because I've been researching Volvo Engines, and I'm glad it did, your a great story teller and down to earth guy, the kind I'd love to have a beer or should I say glass of vino with! lol. Nice to hear of company's who stand behind their product. Looking forward to watching some of your other content, and to the fix, and ultimately completion of your dream trip! Subscription added! Thanks!
Welcome aboard! Thanks for the good story teller comment. That’s my number one goal. We will see what happens! Thanks for watching
You're Channel and Yacht are awesome. I hope it goes everything better. Just watched almost all you're videos since you bought the Aquila, fantastic content. Greetings from Zurich Switzerland.
Welcome aboard! And thanks so much for watching!
It's nuts - I feel your frustration - paying a 3 million dollar bill for the boat and still having this issue, not what you would expect
Keep us updated this week as work progresses!
I will. Thanks for watching
Don’t worry 😉 be happy always move forward don’t stop for every dog barking you’ll never make your destination bro 😎 love the video of all the beautiful places you visit 💪 keep on going sea 🌊 waiting
Sucks when you are so excited to do something new and in the middle Murphy strikes and you’re doing a 180. Feel for you but I must say I absolutely love your content. I’m considering a power cat some day for ocean adventures but I’m a midwesterner who grew up boating on lakes so I’m trying to learn as much as I can. Your channel is the first I’ve come across that is real educational content. Please keep up the great work. Looking forward to your next video. Cheers Jeff
Thanks for your comments and thanks for watching
great content love the vids here from norway ;)
Well on the bright side your at a great marina!!
You got that right! Thanks for watching
Thank you for your open and honest dialog.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching
Thanks for this video. Im feeling so disappointed as though I was going there with you. Hopefully they get you up and running soon.
Appreciate this comment. Thank you
Great Video Allen. As a boat owner, I understand the frustration, especially in a new boat, when things go sideways. We also rely on Marinemax and they take great care of us here in Savannah. Glad they quickly got you back on the water! Really enjoy your content and watching your adventures. You make it as though we are right there with you and it is very real! All the best and we wish you calm waters and smooth "sailing"!
Thanks soooo much!
The only thing better than a good warranty is quality merchandise. Nothing last forever, but !!!! I know it'll work out in the end. You've got a great attitude and it has served you well getting repair service. Good luck. Semper Fi!
So true! Thanks for watching
Its like you said, Its not the boat builders that cause the problems.. Its mainly the 2nd and 3rd party equipment that has the problems.. Good to see that you made it back and they are taking care of you
Thanks so much and thanks for watching
I bought a new boat from Marinemax in 2005. Before delivery they had to replace one of the transmissions due to an issue on a pre delivery sea trial. Not quite the same as your experience because I didn’t own the vessel yet, but given my concern Marinemax and Brunswick agreed to provide an extended warranty because I was a little leery of buying a new boat that already had problems. Given their size and power Marinemax is able to get things accomplished other dealers probably can’t. They control a lot of market share, but have a long range view of how to treat customers. Having said that, I’m sure some folks have bad experiences with them too. Unfortunately, bad experiences in the marine industry is far too common. If the problems that occur on boats happened in the automotive industry there’d be congressional hearings about it!
All too true! Thanks so much for watching!
Great honest edit
Much appreciated
I still say your boat is a lemon! SEND IT BACK!
Thanks for watching!
Your such an authentic, down to earth guy. I’m really sorry this happened to you but I do believe everything happens for a reason. Looking forward to seeing you in the Bahamas.
Thanks so much and thanks for watching!
Glad to hear that you made it back safely and the teams are working at getting you turned around as soon as possible. The transmissions which have been matched to your boat are manufactured by ZF. This is the choice of not only Volvo Penta but also other major brands such as Cummins and Yanmar engines. An engine manufacturer will decide on which ZF transmission application will be best suited with the performance of the vessel, the engine manufacturer will then sell the ZF transmission and engine as a complete package to the boat builder. From what it sounds like, the Volvo Penta engine is still in great working condition which is great news and a new ZF transmission is on its way. Great that between Aquila, MarineMax, and Volvo Penta, all parties are communicating with each other to get you back on your way as soon as possible.
I feel completely supported by all of them. They want to know what happened. How can I be pissed about that?!? Thanks for watching
Good on Marine Max! Well done for them and for you.
Thank you
What an experience. Every boaters nightmare. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I know it must have been hard to maintain your composure. I wish you a speedy fix and many years if happy boating! Know that your videos have inspired us to plan a charter in the BVI's. Thank you.
Happy that you will go to the BVI. That’s my jam! Thanks for watching
Hang in there bud!
Thanks
I looked at Leopard 53 and they told me they won't touch Volvo Penta. Love your videos.
Thanks for watching!
Oh boy, alot to unpack here. Well, you certainly are a terrific guy/husband/and friend. True, raw, and organic emotions can't be hidden. Your love, dedication, and devotion to your wife, family, and friends, speaks volumes about your internal makeup. And although we know that emotion rarely wins over logic and reason, in your completely understandable emotional moments, you obviously handled the situation with love and understanding. Which not everyone is equipped for. Funny, how Clint's movie, "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" comes to my mind. 🤷🏽♂️ What's also very funny is how both the bad and the ugly rein in the title in number, when in life we're taught and raised to be good natured, Clint still manages to come out on top. You, my friend, remained the good natured individual you have shown your subs to be - and you came out on top in many ways. You promoted, through all the nebulous trials - Marine Max, Aquilla, Boat US, and also Vovlo. You're a winner brother. And not that it took me to get you to realize it. No. Just to help with the many others to help reaffirm what everyone who manages to come across you experiences in one way or another. You've taught me so much in only the 6 or 7 vids I have been able to view. And I thank you for it. I now know I still have so much to learn before actually acquiring the vessel of my dreams. And that's okay. You're great at what you do. Keep baring your soul and speaking honestly from your genuine heart. And your "bad and ugly" moments will ALWAYS translate into "good teaching moments" for us. GOD bless you brother. 🙏🏻
This is a great comment. I can't thank you enough for taking the time to write this eloquent comment. And I appreciate how you enjoy the channel. And thanks so much for watching. Means a lot.
I’ve been looking forward to hearing what happened. I hate it for all of you.
Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching
I bought a beautiful used Searay and my very first project was to overhaul my port Cat, and I did it myself so I understand. My boat always had projects, to me it was just part of boating and I really enjoyed it was the best years of my life, Keep up the great work Hillbilly always enjoy the videos, and I would certainly own an Aquilla, there is nothing on that boat I couldn't fix.
Wonderful! Wish I was that mechanical. I understand it all just can’t actually do it all. Thanks for watching
I wish you well with your Volvos but I know several owners with the new computer controlled Volvos that have had problems and didn't have good service from Volvo. Very expensive parts and limited approved mechanics to work on them. Maybe they are trying to get this reputation issue resolved. I hope so because when they run right they run well.
Thanks for your comment. And thanks for watching!
Love watching your videos. Had a new boat in south Florida for a few years and had a great Marinemax experience too. Glad all is ok. Just saying this to make a little light of the issue. They are called lines not ropes. 😂. Keep the videos coming!
Yes I know…I keep screwing that up. Sorry. LINES. Thanks for watching
Mate, there's no excuse for that. Both Marine Max and Volvo knew of the issue and it's more widespread as an OEM issue outside of Aquila in the broader boating community as well. Aquila should never have used Volvo at the OEM level.
Marine Max is a large organisation and they own the Aquila brand as far as I can tell. They should have matched your vessel with a better engine and transmission.
I know Marine Max probably got a volume discount from Volvo, but they should rescind that contract and go with someone else.
Boaters should not just say "This is all part of boating". That's is crap. When you are paying millions for a boat, you should get much better. There's no excuse for this. Diesel engines and transmissions are usually bullet proof.
Yes but do I act like an asshole and DEMAND attention? There are better ways of getting what you want or deserve. I am a master at getting what I want and need and still being NICE. Trust me, I won’t even put everything on this channel…although you guys think I do…I’m smarter than that. Deals are being made. I don’t have to tell you what they are cause it’s my life. Thanks for watching and thanks for your comments
Gutted for you, hope you get it all sorted asap!
Thanks so much and thanks for watching
Not lost on us… when we cruisers begin to plan, no matter how far out, we have to pick a date. As you said, rarely is that the date we actually end up shoving off. But when the stars (and most importantly, the weather) align and we can stick to our original plan, it’s hard not to feel the serendipity of it all. So we were right there with you for the beauty of that chapter of the experience. And the other part where things fell apart? As you alluded to, it's simply what we sign up for as boaters. That doesn’t make it better, but it’s part of the deal. Onward…
Yeah have a lot of owners tell me about being stuck in one place for awhile…now I know. Kinda charming…but completely annoying for a director who is used to being in CHARGE. I’ll be fine. Thanks for Watching!
Love these videos, always interesting to see the challenges as well as the benefits of owning such a nice boat.
Indeed! Thanks for watching
First off, thank god you are all ok. Could’ve been a disaster.
Second, reporting and sharing the problems you have been going through hopefully will not fall on deaf ears. This could result in a recall that will benefit future purchasers.
Thirdly, maybe boat manufacturers will reevaluate their relationship with volvo. Being this seems to be a common issue, a recall should’ve taken place long before your purchase.
We need RUclipsrs who will honestly review build quality of vessels. Too many times it’s just a boat review with a few items they would change but nothing detailed on the actual quality of the build and mechanics.
Thank you for your content and good luck to you.
Thanks so much for these comments. Means a lot. And thanks for watching
Wow, what a massive kick to the groin. Hold fast broseph.
Thanks!
I would agree, Marine Max service is amazing. They have gone above and beyond for us.
The best. Happy to be associated.
Agreed, unacceptable for Volvo Penta to use a transmission with known issues, especially like that! I agree, Volvo makes an amazing engine. Now, do they actually make the transmission?? Melting a dipstick is not an easy thing to do. I'm in the oil & gas industry and have the SDS sheet up for your typical ATF transmission fluid. Flash point is 185C or 365F. If they use a synthetic blend that flash point drops by 14F, the only benefit to using synthetic is for water contamination as synthetic oils has a little better water resistance. The fact that you were smoking means you were close to that. That is scary! Most likely close to that inside the transmission and NOT what was in your bilge, however it was very hot don't get me wrong. I'd say Volvo Penta have a HUGE lawsuit waiting to happen heaven forbid this sort of thing happens to someone else who doesn't catch it and is hurt or worse, killed. So glad you're all safe and sound. Bummer about the future trip. But hey, those are 1st world problems right? Take care, cheers!
Great assessment. I didn’t know these details but I knew for anything to be this hot was bad freakin news. I feel lucky frankly. Thanks for your comment abd thanks for watching
Chin up mate, love your channel look forward to seeing how much fun you guys have in the Bahamas!
Thanks! Will do! And thanks for watching
Similar problem with Volvo and the transmission. Mine was a 52 sportfish. I feel your pain. Dealing with Volvo nearly soured me on boating after 30 years. I moved to CATs and MANs and have never had another problem.
Go to 12 A Buoy great restaurant! And Chucks!
Love the Bouy!!!
Is there an all metal replacement dipstick, maybe aftermarket for the gooball dipstick?
Hey love y’all probably the shortest message ever but we are your biggest fans Savannah ga always be safe brother
Thanks so much! And thanks for watching. LOVE SAVANNAH
Good job Captain A and Captain D. She runs good on one engine!! Not so good on no engines. The outcome is as it should be. DL
Thanks for watching!
They should give you a new boat with all the issues you had and have. It looks really bad for them!
Aquila has to stand by the product the use in their boats so I cannot separate them from Volvo. Major components like an engine is the most important part of every car, boat or airplane so they must make it a priority to recall all Volvo transmission.
Good point. Thanks for watching
Glad your all Safe and made it back fine! Marine Max has always been awesome when I’ve dealt with them too! Hopefully you get to the Bahamas soon! 🍻
I hope so too! Thanks for watching
No… thank you for sharing everything with us! Your channel is one of the more real channels on RUclips and I’ve enjoyed all your videos. Informational and real! ❤❤❤ it!
Glad to hear that your dealer and manufacturer are stepping up. As a farmer with lots of equipment, service dictates most of my purchase decisions. Knowing Volo was aware of the issue and you were not notified makes me question the replacement transmissions. Was there a recall? Has Volvo identified the issue and fixed it? Are the replacements updated? Are they treating the issue as "fix as fail"?
Glad everyone is safe, they'll be better days.
Take care
That my friend is an ongoing discussion! Will know soon. Thanks for watching. Means a lot
Ugh, sorry for you… the emotion is real and most of us have had it.
Thanks for watching
Alan, you had that recent tiny condensation issue, and the bottom paint issue and now a blown transmission. Thank God you had such beautiful weather to mitigate your situation. But I’m wondering, how many engine hours on that boat for this to occur?
I’m also concerned because this is not an unknown problem. MarineMax knows, Aquila knows and Volvo knows but nothing was communicated to you when purchasing the boat (an honest assumption). If they knew the problem exists, I can’t give them kudos for springing into action (and your 10k subscribers might have contributed to the speed of their response). Personally, I’m now rethinking whether my next boat charter will be on an Aquila.
But, you handled yourself like a mature adult (I would have gone ballistic) and fortunately no one has been hurt. To quote a passage from a Tom Clancy novel, “Stout hearts”.
Thanks for your comments. Means a lot. We shall see what happens. And thanks so much for watching!
Not surprised. Aquila build equals that of a bayliner.
Thanks for watching
Happy to hear you are getting these replace, However I disagree with this is not with Aquila, They partnered with this company, and their standards are in play. All OEMs have this, they can influence quality, they are paying the warranty, Hope you are off the dock next weekend and on your way
Yeah I wasn’t sure about saying that. I’m learning. All parties are responsible. Thanks for watching
We have Boat US and Sea Tow as well. Cheap insurance. And, those guys are pros.
That guy was a rock star. So worth it. Thanks for watching
Next up will be a pub crawl in port!!!
Hells yes
We were literally just in the Exumas, because of you btw, and so sad this happened to you. Hoping all goes well.
Hope you had a wonderful trip. Thanks for watching
Are the two new transmissions an upgraded mod status? Just wondering if you may be getting the same exposure?
I’ll let you know. Thanks for watching
The more bracelets on a man, the more emotions is what my dad always says.
Lol. Well then I’m an emotional wreck!! Ha. Thanks for watching
My friend had Volvo diesel engines and he had nothing but problems. I much prefer mechanical engines and systems over electronic especially in salt water!
Cummins would be my choice or John Deere but mechanical only.
Prefer single engine boats with stabilizers like Krogen, Selene, Nordhavn and DeFever.
There are boats that travel thousands of miles each year and yes they have problems but nothing to the extent you have.
That's why choosing the right boat is so important and what it's powered with.
Ahh man, this is a tough one. I’m glad you all are safe. Looking forward to seeing you back up and running!
Side note: I can tell you are low key a sneaker head haha
Thanks for that! although I don’t know what a sneaker head is…thanks for way

I appreciate your feelings towards Volvo, I get it. HOWEVER [unless I'm missing something] they sent you TWO transmissions either because you forced them [and I don't blame you] OR they KNEW they were faulty and are sending you the re-engineered transmissions. I'm happy you're getting made whole.
I’m getting two cause I wouldn’t move my boat until it happened. And I would’ve continued posting videos about sitting here. They get it. They also know it needs to be done. Thanks for watching!
@@thewanderinghillbilly 🙌
Vehicle manufacturers and dealerships could learn a thing or 90 from Marine Max.
Thanks for watching!
Alan, Maybe if you would of bought a used boat, and put all those up grades in it.... LOl... sorry man, wish you better luck,,,,days to come.
Agree. But then I also know every nook and cranny of this sucker. Thanks for watching
I'm happy that Marine Max has stepped up to help their customer ‼️ yet I do put a finger on Aquila not notifying you about these Volvo engines as, in your words, other 54 owners have had the same problem. No excuse. Happen once, maybe twice and no more Volvo engines of this particular model. Period. Same with Volvo. Should have pulled this model engine out of inventory. Not sure what makes anyone think that new transmissions of the same model will be any better. I hope so for your sake and that of the safety of your family and guests. Love your channel. 🙂
Thanks for your comments. Means a lot. Things will work out! Thanks for watching
I would follow up on why it over heated (sounds like it had lubricant as it was splashed around). Are they water cooled and if so, did the lines clog/fail? Was it a bearing failure? What are the chances of the new transmissions having the same problem? Is there a way to get a warning next time? It looked like you were booting it across (which it should be designed for), but if you had a proper warning, you could have slowed down before it got toasted. Depending on the problem the other transmission could have failed at the same time.
It's one thing to get a replacement (which is good), but its another to always anticipate another immediate failure without warning (even if its still under warranty). You could have been racing to get out of a storms path or any amount of reasons to have to move quickly.
Always nice to know why things failed and probability of it happening again and if there is a way to avoid it rather than playing a game of operation on pandora's box .
Did not get a warning until after we stopped. Turbo went down to 0 and we all felt a sudden slow down. Lines were not clogged. We will see what the new transmission gives us. Thanks for your comments and thanks for watching
Please text the transmission model so I can put on record and curious why Volvo didn't have a re call if there is such a problem.
This could have been very dangerous if a fire or storm would have been near.
I’ll let you know the replacement! Thanks for watching
Great! Thank you and Enjoy your trip! Delayed is better than canceled I guess! Dang boats....lol
I’m sad with you💞
Love your style. You need to know the root cause of the problem to feel secure with the fix. Seems like a cooling issue. I don't know your system but possibly a plugged intake. If you can't get an answer as to what caused it, keep searching. Best of luck.
Searching for answers! Thanks for watching!!
Is there not a warning indicator for the transmission overheating?
Happened after we stopped. We noticed Turbo dying. Strange. Thanks for watching
The way you are rolling with a sh..ty situation is inspiring - I know you are extremely frustrated, but I think being able to verbalize your frustration to the camera is cathartic, and is somewhat of a frustration release. The wine helps too, though! Sorry you’re going through the hassle - and cheers!
Thanks for watching
Every blessing is a curse, every curse is a blessing.
Thanks so much for watching
What’s different about the new transmission? What will prevent the issue from happening on the new ones?
Good question. Trying to figure that out. Thanks for watching
Sorry it happened but glad no one was hurt.
It’s easy to blame Volvo but I bet it’s an Aquila problem. I doubt Volvo transmissions all overheat and they’ve never been able to fix it. Do they only overheat on Aquilas? Volvo has been in business for decades. Aquila has been in existence for 10 just years. Aquila most likely has a poor cooling design.
Still trying to figure it out…top folks from both companies are in communication. Thanks for watching
Volvo…. Big Green Money Eater… !!
Hah. Thanks for watching
I am impressed on how you have looked to find the positive through this circumstance, however you should not allow Aquila off so easily. They are the manufacturer for the complete vessel. They have the contractual relationship with their suppliers and they have a responsibility to their customers to ensure known quality issues are addressed and communicated. The fact this is a recurring issue with many Aquila owners and not addressed proactively is a concern. I will bet they are very quick to respond to your video post. Funny they are not that proactive about this issue.
I absolutely love the design and layout of the Aquila, but now I am rethinking my plan to purchase and will start to review others like Horizon. I am sure your issue will get resolved, but Aquilla and Volvo need to be more than reactive. Good luck.
Trust me…all companies involved have been EXTREMELY proactive and are throwing money at this situation. No one wants bad press. And I don’t want it for them. Thanks for watching
@@thewanderinghillbilly don't forget, not everyone has 11k followers. I expect their warranty policy doesn't cover this much EXTREME proactivity for ALL customers:)
Perhaps Aquila should exclusively use Cummins power train to eliminate the Volvos known reliability issues
Not sure about that. Hopefully the result will be a more improved product. Thanks for watching
Should I keep my Sea Ray??
Bust Out Another Thousand. BOAT.
