Hi Myre, Congratulation on the outstanding work you've done! The video is incredibly well-edited and animated, and it had me hooked from start to finish. I have some friends that had the original version with the artworks and all so I had the chance to play it. It adds a unique dimension to your video and shows how passionate you are about the subject you're covering. I want to let you know that you're really talented at what you do, and I encourage you to keep delighting us with high-quality content. Keep up the good work, Myre! I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us in your upcoming videos ;)
7 MONTHS LATE, yet still feel that this may be one of the most inventive card games, you should be nothing but proud of yourself and your team for this, purchasing now
LOVE 👏 this 👏 video👏 Really great job man. And nothing hit harder than the birthday Toys r' Us trip! Wishing you continued success and excited to join on your journey
It looks amazing! Just one idea from my side. You should design a smartphone holder where the players can place the phone and the cards under it. It would become a kind of arena for the characters to fight in. No one would get distracted by going through other apps and need to hold the phone. The app and phone will feel like a feature and not as a kind of extra work. Maybe one day you will get back to this great project and might think about this idea. Great work!
This is such a cool and unique take on a card game, using AR and all. I do recall and era where I was interested in AR stuff but it never really went anywhere, though this has definitely been inspiring
Awesome, Even if not profitable, making that game as a aspiring game dev look really really awesome and cool. You really look like having fun doing Stribe even if it was a ton of work, I'd hope to buy one copy pretty soon.
Good job!
@@myrethereal Non malheureusement! Suite au game jam, on avait débuté la production plus sérieuse du jeu avec des enseignants mais le projet a été abandonné :( Bien hâte de voir tes prochains projets!
I gotta say the art direction and animations make me crave this game. But does anyone have some extra videos or such to further demonstrate it? It’d be helpful to see how well it works both in AR and as a game on its own.
instead of the phone, separate card readers could be done attached to a centralized display, maybe RPI based which would be part of the game each player would have a card reader connected to the centralized display which would show the fight scene, stats.... The card readers could be nfc based, probably would increase the production price, but it would take away the phone distreaction.
Funny I have the same feeling about my own birthday. I love to celebrate others but when it comes to my own I just feel it's tiresome, it's a whole day where everyone want to be with you and I feel like I have to be happy that day. I like celebrating alone going out to a café or something very small just some simple dinner with a few friends that don't expect me to feel a certain way
I think the factions need to be rebranded as where they come from. The "plant, cactus, mouse, and ghost" thing feels like a wierd hurtle for newcomers to the game to accept since it feels random and because cacti are plants. But I have an idea that's just making sense of the pieces to the puzzle you already have. Imagine it's a post apocalypse where all of humanity has died off.. The dead humans find themselves roaming the world as ghosts and in the absence of living humanity creating a pressure on the other side the ghosts are now able to push themselves back through the veil in some ways. They begin to try different things to return to the land of the living. The first go to the deserts and press themselves into the Cacti, transmuting them into a sort of new sentient creature. The lack of life in the desert gives them the many years this initial method takes to assert themselves into the Cacti without other plants and animals destroying the plant in the process, but when they do they lose all memory as Cacti have no brains and hold no memories themselves so by the time they develop them into thinking things the ghost has already left its personhood behind. Attempting to progress this new art of merging back across the veil other ghosts go to the forests and find a way to do it faster with those plants in hopes that faster would mean they could retain their memories. It doesn't help them retain their memories, so finally a third faction go to the mice living in ruined ancient human cities and think that if the mice have minds then maybe they could retain their consciousnesses with them, and other new advancements of the art allow them to target some mammals, but the minds are too small and it just creates a slight remnant of self merged with the mouse's original self. These three factions now have no memory of who they were and must live a post apocalyptic tribal life. They end up in conflict off of obvious lines drawn based on what they are and what regions they hail from. Then the remaining ghosts attempt to find a new rout with new advancements of the art and manage to push themselves directly through the veil as the ghost faction. To free the other ghosts from their new bodies and return them to normal they must die again, so the ghosts join in the conflict and the 4 factions are finally fully established.
I appreciate you mentioned about doing the goodies/merch was a hassle in your Kickstarter, it’s expected but seems like so much extra work for the creators (and probably distracts them from the main project honestly) like I feel bad for the game dev that has to suddenly do a crash course in producing high quality plushies of their OCs... it’s like just let them make their dang game their not Hobonichi for goodness sake LOL but seriously!
This actually sounds like an amazing idea, when we were kids none of us knew how to play the card games. if you made it so kids could use their phones to play the game i think thats a huge selling point.
Bro, I litteraly made the same joke with "the 4 nations lived in harmony, when the 5th came and the chaos started" in my card game and I even live in France btw !
I wouldn't view the phone as intrusive in a card game. Many collectible card games use apps for functional gameplay. Mostly just tracking life points and status effects. The fact you are adding something far more engaging with your game makes it original and exciting for your potential player base. I look forward to what you do next.
if I have this idea.. so you combined the holographic "square cone" using phone and wireless charger but using card.. two player chose a character and then use power cards to attack. Like the pixelated pokemon and street fighter characters.
It would be cool to have a game like that, but with VR glasses like in the Adventure Time episode with Card Wars. It would be a brilliant game. Who agrees to leave a like below.
Hey ! Your video was really cool, it made me want to play the game with my friends. We'll probably give it a try 😃 I have a small question about your kickstarter if you don't mind. How did you find your manufacturer, how did you deal with logistics (some third company?) I'm really intrigued And finally, is there anywhere I can buy stribe ? 😎 Thanks for the hard work, the project is cool !
sure! for the manufacturers, it was a lot of googling and excel sheets comparing prices, no real tip there, and unfortunately did all of the logistics myself (would not recommend having 100+ package to make by yourself in your bedroom)
Once AR glasses become more mainstream I could see this taking off
true
It's already so sick but AR glasses is so next level
