Thanks Andras! When I first started the series, I knew that I wanted to include diagrams or examples to show what I was outlining. I'm not the best with video editing but I am glad that you like the format of the series.
Hey Steven, that's awesome. I'm really glad that you found the video helpful. With the Bolt Action Basics series I wanted to show in a very basic format the main core mechanics of the game rather than indepth analysis. But that's great that the video was helpful 🙂
Cheers Joshua, much appreciated! I'm glad they were easy to follow as I'm trying to get the balance right between basic and being too over simplified but I've enjoyed these two so far and hopefully they are proving helpful 😊
Cheers Keith, I'm really glad that they are proving useful. Its been great this year seeing so many new Bolt Action players across different channels and groups so I thought it would be a good idea to make a handful of videos just to outline the basics. They've been a lot of fun putting together :)
Cheers Dylan, yeah I think I have the music sorted now! Thanks buddy, I'm trying to use a different selection of armies throughout the videos, the next is going to be combat mechanics so need to work out what I'll be using ☺
Thanks Jimmy! I've got more in the pipeline and hopefully they ate providing answers or filling in gaps for you as you start Bolt Action. If you need any other help, answers etc just let me know buddy ☺
Thanks dude, glad you liked it. There has been an influx of new players to Bolt Action this year so hopefully these basic videos will help them as they start playing ☺
Thanks mate, this has been a great set of videos to work on! My main aim is to keep them as simple as I can with them hopefully getting people interested in Bolt Action or as just a very basic rules referral 😊
Thanks Victor! As I'm making these types of videos, I have to keep telling myself that they need to be basic do hopefully they will go some way in filling in gaps or answering new player's questions ☺
Thank you, I'm really glad that you have found the series. While the videos don't go into huge amounts of detail, the aim was to provide a basic overview of the game's core mechanics 😃👍
Absolutely brilliant channel and as a relatively new player and the lack of play thanks to the Comchi wuhan bat virus, I'm finding your videos very handy indeed. Keep up the brilliant work
That's awesome, cheers mate! There is a lot of Bolt Action content on the channel as this is pretty much my go to game of choice. I'm glad that you're finding the videos helpful. Yeah, its been a few months since I last played a game so hopefully a few more battle reports will be out as soon as we can :)
Thanks Paul, much appreciated mate! I'm hoping that by keeping the videos pretty basic and just a simple overview it will help new players want to look further into the game at the different aspects I haven't covered 😊
Thanks Sean, I have tried to concentrate on the really core aspects of the game and attempted to explain these in a 'new to the game' type of way. These videos have been a lot of fun to put together :)
Cheers mate, I've really enjoyed putting these videos together and hopefully they'll give a really basic overview of the game for people new to Bolt Action 😊
Cheers buddy, glad you liked it! I'm actually really enjoying putting these types of video and the feedback has been really good. So many positive gamers out there 😊
@@OnPointHQ its definitely helpfully especially for people who are just starting off. Im stuggling to find the time to showcase my bolt action stuff but I'll get round to it.
I think sometimes just seeing the bare bone mechanics can really help a new player understand or grasp a game. Looking forward to seeing your Bolt Action work dude ☺
So I've been getting very interested in bolt action recently and thought that getting a good grasp of the rules would be very helpful. You said that with the advance order I can move and fire, but is it possible to fire and then move?
Hey Tazzio, a very good question! The answer is no unfortunately. I can see how it would be quite an interesting option to have but in the current version of the rules does not allow this. Hope that helps 😀
Hey Matt, apologies for the delay in responding! You really can't go wrong with one of the starter boxes. These provide you with approximately 1000 points and are a great way of building a core spine to your army. When you have an understanding of how they play and how you want them to play, you can then start adding new units and support options. Welcome to the world of Bolt Action and thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, always appreciated 😃👍
@@matthilton8959 In that case, you can't go wrong with the German Grenaiders starter box. Its mid to late war so definitely suitable for D-Day and onwards. I believe it comes in at approximately 1000 points and gives you your core infantry, three support options and two vehicles (Puma and a StuG) This will certainly give you enough flexibilty to add to the list to suit your play style or how you just want it to look. From a modelling perspective, you could also throw in figures from the DAK and Winter infantry boxes. Uniforms, equipment etc was very mixed and matched by this point of the war and so gives you scope to add bits and pieces from other boxes to give your units a more rag tag look :)
Hey there. I would say that it probably still is fun to play but would be completely unsupported now with all errata and FAQ's all about second edition. But I know of people that still play earlier editions of 40k and I still play the first edition of X-Wing so it is certainly possible to still play it 😊
got band of brothers 2 years ago, only just painted the german force, built a load of trees and 28mm scale buildings, fences, hedgerows, other scenery. Noone to play with no idea how to play. Say im a middle aged man without saying it
I often find myself in that position, many painted armies, scenery etc but only one real gaming buddy to play Bolt Action with. I'll often solo play games of Bolt Action, small scenario based games, more cinematic than competitive and its always pretty enjoyable. Although it'll never replace a full game of Bolt Action, it does a job 😃👍
Hey Jeremy, thanks for the question. Short answer is no. The rating of your HQ unit is not dependant on the rating of your infantry sections. So it is possible to have a platoon led by an inexperienced First Lieutenant but the platoon be made up of regular and veteran units. The choice is entirely down to the player what rating to give to their HQ units but this has no bearing on the ratings of the troop choices. Hope that helps ☺
I love how you show the little units when you talk about them.
Thanks Andras! When I first started the series, I knew that I wanted to include diagrams or examples to show what I was outlining. I'm not the best with video editing but I am glad that you like the format of the series.
Good one buddy. Will stay tuned for more.
Cheers dude, much appreciated! I've got a few more of these planned as I keep finding new bits and pieces that could be covered 😊
just getting into bolt action now, your videos are really helping, thank you

Looking to get into this game in the new year. Will likely be going down ze German route. What would you recommend as a starter kit/stuff to get.

@@OnPointHQ which German starter set would you suggest. I'm interested in D-Day onwards period of the war Northern Europe theatre.

does your officer have to be the same unit quality as the the highest quality unit you have?
meaning if i have a bunch of veteran paratroopers does my officer also have to be a veteran? or can he just be regular?
