I teach elementary kids in after school program through zoom from home...while kids are working on making a comic story will they be able to share their story live to everybody on zoom? Thank u Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android
Thank you for making these. I've watched a bunch in the past few days. With needing to convert my biology course to digital learning, this has been fun and inspiring.
What an amazing tool, with such an impressive variety of options for customization and for expressing learnings creatively. Great job! I always enjoy and appreciate your videos.
@@NewEdTechClassroom thank you.We won' t probably go back to school until June in my country.. Some of my students don't have good connection to the Internet at home, just their mobiles. So far, the free version seems nice for them to start , but next academic year the paid version could be a great tool. Thanks for your help!
How is the free version? Would my entire class of 20 be able to create on the free one or will I need to upgrade to the pay version? Thanks you’re an amazing teacher btw!
Thanks for the great video. I teach at the college level. How do you think college students would respond to this tool? Also, you mentioned that you have the paid version. Does having the paid version give your students access to the full version of the tool also? Do they create their comics within your class/account? Or will they create their own accounts? The free version doesn’t provide enough cells or storyboards for what I have in mind, but I don’t want students to have to pay. Thanks!
Hi Tanya, so sorry for the long delay on responding here! Yeah, I think college students would definitely still get a lot out of making digital comics. When you purchase access, you'll get access to a number of seats that you can use to create student accounts, so they don't need to create their own. Best of luck!
Hi! Great tool and excellent presentation by you! Two questions: 1) can students work in pairs or groups on the same storyboard? 2) Do they turn this in by uploading or is their work just stored on this site for me to come in and grade? Thank you very much!
Hi Patty, The only real way for students to collaborate on a Storyboard is for them to create separate parts of the board and then bring them together later. The boards are stored inside of SBT, so you can check them there, or you can have students take screenshots or download their boards and have them turn them in.
Is there any comic making sites that are free? Is there a way to make a comic book/storyboard on google jamboard? Since a lot of us already have google classroom/drive/docs/slides all in one place is. there a way to do storyboards/comics on out google platform without getting yet another platform and paying for it? Thank you.
Hi Kyle, Unfortunately Google doesn't have a great platform for making free digital comics. Another option in Pixton, but that also costs money. You could try Google Drawings, though it's not going to be the same as SB That.
The easiest way to do it would be to embed the graphic organizer directly onto the Google Slides. Otherwise they will have to make a copy of the document themselves, unfortunately.

What types of comics did you have your Biology students do? I am looking to do the same thing with my Astronomy or Biology class too.

Muchisimas gracias, Samuel!
Great video! I had never heard of this comic book tool, will give it a try!
Awesome!
I've been looking for a good storyboard tool! Thanks for this and I'm looking forward to using it. Your video makes it look easy to use.
Hi Kathryn, it is pretty easy, and students love it!
Great and informative video!
Thanks!
A great tool! Just a question: do you use the free version? I have been trying it and seems very limited. Thanks.
marian olmedo by just the way you type. I can tell you’re a teacher. 🤣
No, I use the paid version, though I think it's on discount right now due to everything that's been going on.

Do you have a video on how to create the video tutorials you are sharing? Specifically how you superimpose your body over your screen share?
I don't, but I do get lots of requests for that, so I'll have to make one!
You can do this in Flipgrid now. (The superimpose thing.) It is pretty simple.
How is the free version? Would my entire class of 20 be able to create on the free one or will I need to upgrade to the pay version? Thanks you’re an amazing teacher btw!
It definitely works best with the paid version! Thanks for your support!

Sam, is there an easy way to have students look at each other’s storyboards in order to do a “gallery walk” type assignment?
Hi Angela, I've always had students take a screenshot of their comics and them add images elsewhere, like Padlet. Best of luck!
@@NewEdTechClassroom That Padlet idea is great! I think I might try that with Wakelet.

Where can I get this program?
Right here! www.storyboardthat.com/

Unfortunately I don't believe they offer free trials, though it never hurts to reach out and ask!

Yes, you can bring in other images.

It isn't free, but you can get a heavily discounted extended premium trial at My EdTech Bundle: www.myedtechbundle.com
? How do I make a hyper doc with a link to a google doc so that each student can receive their own copy of the google doc??
