STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS AND DETAILS PROVIDED IN THE VIDEO.

***Baked in oven preheated to 425 degrees for 10-15 mins. Then TURNED MY OVEN DOWN TO 300 degrees and baked for about an hour. (Baking time will depend on your oven)
INGREDIENTS I USED:
1 Stick Unsalted Butter (Melted)
2 C Sugar
1 Tsp. Vanilla
1/4 Tsp. Salt
4 Large Eggs
1 Tbsp Cornmeal
2 Tbsp All Purpose Flour
1/4 C Evaporated Milk
1 Tbsp Distilled White Vinegar
1 9 Inch Deep Dish Pie Shell
Dusting of Powdered Sugar
* I also added 1/4 Tsp of Nutmeg in my 2nd pie!😋🙂💚

I haven’t heard of a vinegar pie in over 10 years. You only need a little bit for this recipe. I like it a lot. I think the chess pie 🥧 is the second cousin of the egg custard pie. Both are good. Nice job, Mrs. Donna!

Mrs. Donna! I initially thought the evaporated milk spillage on the counter was the “major disaster”. I had no idea what was about to happen. 🤔I was literally speechless when the pie 🤮. They are both the same I’ve made mine this way also. They have some excellent recipes on Pinterest for it. U can type in either name it will pull up the same recipe for both.

The recipe I have been using forever is a little different. Mine does not call for the flour or the evaporated milk. I use regular milk and margarine which gives it a different texture and it’s not hard on the top. Love your video and content!

I love chess pie and make them all the time. My ingredients are a little different but it's great. I make pecan pies too. I usually sell them for the holidays and sell a out 40 pecan pies.
Cousin Donna, I am so glad that you didn't get burnt from the pie. As usual, you always get it together. When I saw the pie beginning to split I was like "Oh NO". This pie looks good as everything you bake does. I actually tried the cream cheese sweet potato pie. I added the potatoes in with the cream cheese. I am not a fan of sweet potato pie nor cream cheese, so I am like Dude #1 I passed on it. My family says it is very good though. I can tell that it is very moist. Aunt Donna and Uncle Dude #1, chess pie and pecan pies are a stable in my house! Here in Texas, pecan is very common and chess pie is hit and miss depending on who you ask. Chess pie is similar to buttermilk pie. They are both custard based pies. Thank you for showcasing my two favorite pies!!!! HANDS DOWN! You did great!
