Yeah... The year the legend was born. "Fairytale" is iconic and Alexander Rybak deserves to be forever remembered just for writing this song
Sweden’s participant is Greta thunbergs mother
Love her Malena very talented
omfg
She looks a bit like my teacher when I was 7.
OMG! I CANT IS THAT TRUE?
@@MrApplehair Very true
Technically ESC 2009 was the most advanced, also by famous stars and hits , in my opinion
Eurovision 2009 was by far one my favorites ! The majority of songs were good and and Rybak deserved for his victory . Fun fact : The song from Azerbaijan was written by the same guy who wrote Fuego ( he is a Swedish and Greek) .
I still think that 2009 was the best because of reason you said - lots of traditional sounds (even French did), and the stage
And I enjoy many songs and performances (some even more than the winning piece) such as Armenian, Estonian, Azerbaijani, Turkish, Moldovan, Croatian, Greek, Bosnian, Norwegian, Russian, Albanian, etc
Oh and when I've learned the meaning of Israeli entry, I thought about the Jew and the Arab (as the song has Hebrew, Arabic and English lyrics)
alexander rybak OWNS esc 2009
ahahh omg every time i see on reaction videos for Dum Tek Tek that “who the hell is green shirt guy and what he s doing there” 😂😂
13:22 Best Albanian entry ever. I love everything about it: the bizarre staging, the extremely Eurovisiony lyrics. Perfection.
Iceland's song in 2009 was (in my opinion) their best entry ever! Yohanna diserved to win it all!!!
no
@@gkount_ It is my opinion!
So true
🇦🇲🇧🇦🇹🇷🇦🇿 sent their best entries ever
Turkeys best entry was actually in 2003 when they won. Sertab is a true artist. Hadise is just a show girl, she is not an artist. It‘s typical for Turkey, singers like Hadise does always well in the Turkish music business but real artists like Sertab(Turkey 2003) got forgotten
@@adabir5954 What? Hadise is not an artist and she is just a show girl? Yes she's a show girl + she's am ARTIST, too. Just because she dances when she sings, cares about staging makes her a non-artist? Well she writes her so many songs, she can sing live (she was very ill on eurovision stage), she can dance, she can entertain... She's huge for a reason. Anyways.. stay at home guys 💙
@@britneysparkles9422 thanks!i love hadise.
Bosnia sent tons of masterpieces like Bistra Voda.
Thanks for dum tek tek!Actually, she ruined the song in the finale. But the quality of the song is evident in the original clip.
Eurovision 2009 is my favourite year ❤️
AMAZING REACTION! ESC 2009 is my favorite!! I love so many songs! From sexy Croatia to mysterious France and all the Ethnic sounds: Albania, Moldova, Turkey, Estonia...also GREAT, MODERN stage and the contestants were having so much fun! I LOVE THIS EDITION! Fun fact: Spain's song was written for Greece originally and then re-written for Spain.
Norway really deserved it. I remember watching it and definitely being sure that he was going to win.
Norway and Turkey were amazing 😍
In 1:10 you’re singing Poland in esc 2016 - what color is your love
*life ;)
You are right . Alexander is the legend 😉😚
albania and amernia 2009 are two of my all time top eurovision songs
Norwegian here, this is the only year I watched outside of home, and what a year it was to do that. I went to the local LGBT club/bar/place, which had it on the big screen, got there early and got one of the few seats in this tiny place. It was absolutely packed, and I remember so vividly the voting whenever we got 10s and 12s especially, people would start dancing, cheering and yelling the melody out loud. The atmosphere was fantastic.
I remember that night feeling like there are so many great songs how is there only gonna be one winner and then Norway won with record points........ 2009 was the first year with 50/50 jury tele vote in the final
I like watching ur videos when u react to Eurovisions in the past. It almost makes me forget this year is cancelled
My top 3
1. Iceland (sorry Noosh, but I loved it)
2. Armenia - soo ethnic...soo good
3. Estonia - love the violins!!!
4:17 the singers are Jewish Israeli and Arab Israeli. The song is called "there must be another way". I think you can get the meaning just from that.
Plus Fairytale is ICONIC for a reason.
6:01 Yes the Croatia one was traditional music...I don't know what Greek music you listen to...Balkan music sounds kinda similar to each other
11:11 it's not Balkan, it's Slavic
But Moldovans are not Slavs tho and it doesn’t sound slav
If it isnt for noosh’s videos i wouldnt make it through quarantine😂😭
I love all the songs from 2009 in different ways😍 even the uk I miss when they were successful
1:08 color of my life :D my top 10 in 2016
My top: 1) Iceland 2) Estonia 3) Azerbaijan
2009, 2012, 2016 are my fave years!
2008, 2015 and 2017 also deserve honorable mentions
Reaction to ESC 2009!!!!! I see, I click, I like!! This is definitely my fav year!!
It’s funny I remember watching this in 2009 live and I told myself - Armenia’s entry is timeless. It’s only gonna get better over time and it has!
this is not armenian entry they jusy steal azerbaijani music entry lol :d
@@kamranbayramov1017 oh pls they did steal nothing
The laugh on Albania was soooooo me 😂I was the same “wtf is this?!” 🤣
Fun Fact: The hosts song was actually part Ukrainian!
She's come out against Putin since as well.
You mention every ethic sound from the other countries, but dont say anything about norway's ethic sound :(
Fairytale is very norwegian folk from the dance to the outfits to the violin and music. I wish norway did that more often in eurovision
Song ur singing is Colour of your life (Poland Eurovision 2016). Funny cause I watch ur video yesterday reacting to Eurovision 2016 and u said u didin’t like this one if I remember right. Well, it was my favourite that year
Will you be doing the pre-2000s editions? Also, Cirque du Soleil are not actually Russian.
Starting of this video strong by absolutely shitting on two of my top 5 eurovision songs of all time; Russia 2008 and Lithuania 2009... subscribed
11 months later and I’m still watching this in Lockdown😩
I loved this Eurovision so much! So much goodness. Sakis deserved better. And the female singer from Verona was doing Estonia's points I think?
Sorry lads had to re-upload this due to technical difficulties, lots of love N x
Love it 😍😍😍
Hey Noosh.. The meaningful Israeling song was because The duet was between an Israeli singer (Noa) and a singer from Palestine (Mira Awad). That was very controversial back then.. I gueass it would be even more now..
Its not Greeky vibe it is Dalmatian vibe which is Croatia.
I've been on holiday on the Dalmatian coast.
i still have the cd of this year... i remeber sooo much, but yet so little!
Your hair grows so fast! How do you keep it in such a good shape?
I started with not liking this year (only liking a few NQ songs) but now I love pretty many songs.
i am sorry too, Iceland was my number 1 that year
1. Norway obviously. Best eurovision entry of all time
2. Estonia. Beautiful song, great voice and instrumentals
3. Iceland
4. Turkey
5. Armenia.
I feel very normie for thinking this.
What's the name of that iconic piglet?
"she looks like my headmistress" LOL
Hey Noosh!
A suggestion for future Eurovision Year videos: After watching all the songs, tell us your Top 5!
Thanks!
My first eurovision ever
This was such a great year! If Switzerland qualified to the final it would be perfect.
We have almost the exactly same taste 😂
About Israeli's song meaning - there is ever ongoing conflict, full of violence and people dying, between Israelis and Palestinians for the land and right to live there. The song is sung by Israeli and Arab duet and is the first Israeli Eurovision song that includes arabic language (language of Palestinians). It is about trying to make peace with each other and search for non-aggresive ways to solve it (hence the title "There must be another way") so people on both sides don't have to suffer anymore. It's one of the most meaningfull and beautiful songs that I've ever heard on Eurovision.
Noosh, Iceland was ROBBED! How could you not love it.....
My favorite that year was Latvia with their song “Probka”.
That's my least favorite of that year!
I'm not even joking when I say "Probka" is one of my all time favourites
Did you know that this was the Eurovision we rewatched yesterday for Eurovision Again? Funny coincidence!
Sabrina Jaine so crazy I know haha yep I was kinda shocked myself as I made this video way before that came out .
Hadise 💃🔥💛
About Greece: "Thank god he shaved."
Joke my Cypriot friend used to tell: "Why do Greek men wear gold chains around their necks? So they know when to stop shaving."
Best ESC ever
Fun fact #2 This was actually the first year(in ages) they reintroduced the juries for the final, the semis were still 100% televoting though
Aren't the juries brought in 2008...i know they picked Sweden instead of North Macedonia then..
@@srdjangavrilovic3232 Technically yes, however they were only used to choose the final qualifier from the semifinals regardless of who came in 10th in the televote, the Semis in 2008 and 2009 were 100% televoting. It was in 2009 when the 50/50 system was implemented for the final and then in the semifinals from 2010
You were singing Colour of your live by Michał Szpak from my country, but i thought that you Don't like it. Greetings from Poland 😄
2012 and 2015 pleaseeeee
WOW the best were those handsome male,,, CROATIA GUY AND THE FAMOUS SAKIS FROM GRECCE, The best hahahaha
Honestly, we Swedes should start utilizing Arash ourselves. Not to say he can't compete for other countries, but it feels like we're overlooking our boy.
6:01 with Greek do you mean Balkan? 😁
Ikr! 😂
The way you casually dismissed France and it's literally the best composition and presentation of 2009.
1:08 It’s our song from 2016 Color of your life 😁
2006 was probably the most ethnic year. And Bosnia's entry that year was my favourite ethnic entry ever. Norway's was amazing too but Bosnia overshadowed it...
PS: Armenia's best song is Apricot Stone, fight me IRL no re
Apricot Stone is my favorite too!
♥️
My favorite act of that year was 🇪🇪
1:08 its What color is your life | Portugal 2017
The Cirque du Soleil is actually from Quebec ;)
1:10 Poland 2016?
Would you say inga and anush are better than Sirusho in 2008 and qele qele
Saghstar tbh I liked Jan Jan better but I wouldn’t say they’re better than Sirusho.
can't believe she didn't cover the interval act ://
pls do 2015 next
The song of Israel in 2009 I think meant to spread a message of peace especially between Jews and Arabs in Israel and Palestine and stuff
what do you mean what is this to iceland? She came second, how was the uk song wrong when she came 5th?
People have different opinions. A lot of people liked those songs, she didn't. It's that simple.
I think that I don’t really like performance of Russia, because it was quite creepy, but this song… It’s really amazing. Meladze is an amazing composer, I love his songs. And «Мамо» it’s amazing too.
I would have believed this is Eurovision 2020
ICELAAAAAAAAND!!!!!! my favorite from Spain
Heyyy where is Sertab Erener ?!!!!!
Eurovision 2009 was my very first Eurovision and i still love it's songs.. :) Plus, my favourite won that year and my country returned after 10 years hiatus, which was.. WOOOOOOOOOOOOW, although that song was trash asf :D
But what an ending of the decade :)
If you are going to do the worst Eurovision year.. I nominate 2011 :D
Hello Hello ))
I dont think i liked even ONE song this entire year. Back when you were really exhausted after listening to all the songs.
I completely disagree with your comment of the set choreographer needing to be fired (for the Albanian entry), the combination of these mysterious figures on stage were an artistically daring decision and reminiscent of something out of a Guillermo Del Torro film. I always found that they gave the performance an mysterious depth.
My Top 5 from 2009:
1. Iceland
2. Azerbaijan
3. Sweden
4. Malta
5. Armenia
I miss the time where the russian entry's chorus was sung in russian and ukrainian☹️
React to Eurovision 2010 please :)
yes 2010
I'm a bit late to coment but here we go, so you sked about the message in Israel's song, the thing is, Noa, the girl with long hair is from Israel and Mira is from Palestina; knowing the history of these two countries ''There must be another way'' is like their way to send a message of agreement and peace.
Btw I'm a spaniard but i've been listening to Noa's music since I was a baby bc my mom is a fan.
big hugs
Noosh react to ESC 2012 please!
Croatia I think is quite close to Greece at least they're both in the Balkans so yup sounding Greek would fit.
My Winner Sweden 🇸🇪 2009 ❤️💕pop Opera👍
My favorites were Armenia and Moldova
Please react to Eurovision 2010 😄
Bitch is gagging over Sakis while she's reading France for filth xD Jeez, what a timeline to be alive
Actually 2009 was the first year jury vote returned.
But only for the final though.
Qele Qele was definitely the best.
Arash is not from Iran,he is from Azerbaian lol.
Araş İran vətəndaşıdır düz deyir
Do you really think the jury vote is less political than the televote? I don't know what's more political, but the jury vote definitely does worse overall in identifying good songs - so if it is less political, then there is something else wrong with it! :)
Arash can’t represent Armenia because he is Azerbaijani
Fatik Abdullazade He’s Persian. Who are you kidding. He can’t even speak Azeri lmao
TSammy First of all it‘s not azeri it’s Azerbaijani Turkish or you can say Azerbaijani. Ps. He can speak the language but not that well.
esc music What is the point of your comment?. He’s Persian. Both of his parents are from Iran. Arash confirmed that the Azerbaijani delegation paid him handsomely to make an appearance and even said he wished he represented Iran. What is your point here?
If we're talking about who Arash would have liked to represent, he was totally down to participate in Melodifestivalen. Which isn't strange, considering he's also a first generation Swede.
