  • A group of historic boat owners gather to enjoy a weekend of messing about in boats, and playing with large train sets and enjoying some music at Lime Kiln Basin, Stone, Staffordshire.
    Features a JP4 powered tug which is rather fun...

    Michael, now I see why they put 'fenders' on these narrow boats. I am beginning to think the CRT should limit the width to 4'10" so they can have more boat parades. That tug was the hero of the gathering, and was having a blast.

    Who else was worried about that chimney at 0:44 ?
    Boy, that is some sporty porter tug in the end!

    Does anything live in this water?

    • @mykaskin
      @mykaskin  3 года назад

      It's only mud and clay. Many fish, birds, and other creatures and plants grow quite happily.

      Thank you.
      Can you eat the fish.
      I heard it was basically used as a sewer for quite a while.
      PS I'm from USA and wish we had half this canal system.

      @@cody481 I wouldn't eat the fish, as they are quite muddy as far as I know. There are also heavy metals in the water though in low parts and only cirtain areas. All the 'black' water is kept out of the canal, but sink water does go into it, but the amount in comparison to the amount of moving water is small.

      That's an oil pressure gauge.
