7029 Clun Castle first mainline test runs, Small Heath 19/02/19

  • It was booked to leave Tyseley in the morning for light engine test runs and signalled to run backwards and forwards between Small Heath Junction and Bordesley. All very slow, but nice to see. As mentioned in comments, first mainline run for 31 years!!!

    Great video shots of Clun Castle main line test rus mate 👍😉 Look forward to the locomotive in action on the main line this year as well visiting some heritage railways.

      Thanks Mark, it looked good and also performed well hauling the 6 coaches for the loaded test runs on Thursday.

    'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' has been a credit to Tyseley's standard of restoration over the past 10 years. No doubt 'Clun Castle' will continue that judging by how good she looks here.

      66181 was in the other loop, I've yet to do the video of that, a 68 and pair of 47s.
