Should have sent me a quick message. I could have helped you. We have brought 1000s of items through the commercial border. If I'd had known you hadn't done it before I would have reached out to you.
An import/export number is simply your business number with "-RM0001" tacked onto the end of it. Just like your income tax number is also your business number with "-RC0001" on the end.
We can usually get through commercial border within about 10-15 minutes, generally just hand in the paperwork (you dont even have to have a receipt or invoice, you are allowed to make them up on the spot if need be), pay your 5% GST and depending on what country the item originally was produced, maybe a bit of duties.
Its all SUPER f'ng confusing at first, but once you've done it once, it all makes sense and is super easy and quick.
Glad you got it back though, probably saved enough just on gas if you had to go back to pick it up later.

Great pinball a european machine with an american theme. I am glad that Dutch decided to sell them in France as well so I could purchase one. It was not their original scénario.

Commercial is definitely better for you, no PST. It is a lot more paperwork from what I've seen though.
