    Those dice are sometimes very hard to read on the video. They should use different ones so it is always clear from this angle.

      Crystal clear video, and you complain about dice clarity? 🤦‍♂️ I understand that sometimes there is a glare, but just watching the checker play will give you the roll.

    1:51:14 Why is Blake suggesting the move by pointing to it?

    3:03:02 18 to 21 and 19 to 21 would have been my choice. Poor Blake looked steamed when Mochi rolled 6 6 @ 2:25:20.

    Anyone have a link to this board? I know it’s a Geoffrey Parker but can’t find it anywhere.

    Mochi kicks ass here. The semis lasted long since she got too lucky.

    At 2.25.21 you can mentally imagine the annoyance going through Blake's mind when Masayuki throughs a double 6. He smiles quickly - you lucky b...rd - followed by an annoyed look. That's backgammon for you.

      blake messed up double ones bearing off earlier. the double six shouldnt have mattered.

    What are they writing down after each game ended? I can see them both writing something on the side everytime they reset the clock. What is it?

    • @msudlp
      @msudlp 6 лет назад +1

      They are writing their aggregate match score on a card provided by the tournament director. Although there is a score card for the purpose of keeping viewers informed of the match score, players are encouraged to keep their own score to ensure there is no confusion about match score. Sometimes players forget to change the big score card which can lead to a disagreement on what is the true match score.

      @@msudlp that was my first thought, but then I was like "it can't be that simple, right?". But thanks for clearing that up for me!

    13:29 definitely a wrong move by mr Blake. No need for taking that risk.

  • @ferregu12

    At around 19:50, Fleetwood rolls what looks like 6-3, and moves 13,10 and then both checkers on 10 to 6! Cheating!!!! I can’t believe Mochizuki didn’t catch it!!!

    • @turosfagyi
      @turosfagyi 6 лет назад +10

      That was a completely legal move, 13 to 7 and 10 to 7. They often move the checkers on weird detours, aggregating moves, but where the checkers end up is what counts, and the players don't need to "spell out" each individual move.

    • @MrEdwardCollins
      @MrEdwardCollins 6 лет назад +1

      @@dannyb1379 No, he's not right. Asturosfagyi pointed out with his reply, that was a completely legal move. 13 to 7 and 10 to 7.
