When I found out that Christianity, no matter which one of the thousands of different kinds of Christianity, makes no sense at all, I became an agnostic. But it seams like Judaism makes more sense, but I wonder if all the stories in the Jewish Bible are built on myths, just like most stories in the NT. Love from Germany and my sympathies are with the Jewish people.

Jesus understood very well what was happening to him. He was fulfilling the prophecy which said he would be silent as a lamb before the shearers. Jesus did not defend himself because to defend himself would be to put the blame on those members of the Sanhedrin who had brought charges against him. Jesus was there to die for their sins as well in keeping with his Father's will. Jesus experience on the cross proves the depths of his humanity! He was experiencing doubt that his God was still with him. Didn't job go through something similar during his suffering? Job remain faithful through everything, just as Jesus did, but job still doubted God right towards the end, questioning God. Here the human Jesus reacts just like Job did. So what if each of the gospels is different in what they focused on, in what they found to be important in those events??? It's not a totally different Jesus! It's different people finding different things significant to them in the event! There's something there for everybody! Just as each one of the 12 disciples had character flaws and positive points that everyone on Earth can identify with, each one of the gospels demonstrates something significant that everyone can hone in on. How absurd that you are saying that the teachings of the New Testament Bible is going to kill us. Jesus reiterates the fundamental teachings of the Torah throughout the book of Matthew, but you say it's going to kill us. Why doesn't it kill us when we read it in the Torah directly? Why does it only kill us when it is reiterated by a Jewish rabbi from 2000 years ago who gave his life on the cross in a painful manner to remain faithful to his God??? I would think that you would say as a Jew that that is an excellent example that this Jew set for all gentiles to emulate! Jesus did not know what was going to happen to him but he believed what God told him was going to happen to him. Jesus believed that he would be resurrected because God told him that he would. Jesus didn't spend the weekend in paradise, he spent the weekend in hell talking to the spirits their, letting them know that he had just defeated the enemy, sin and death, and now owned the keys to death and the grave. Jerusalem was upset by the news of the Messiah being born in Bethlehem because they had been anticipating the Messiah for a long time, so they were both agitated and anticipating the news of the Messiah born in Bethlehem. The word troubled may not be the correct translation, but perturbed or anticipated might be better. Herod was worried because he was not the legitimate king of israel, and if God had sent a legitimate king, Herod knew that he could be dethroned. He had to eliminate this competition. The rest of Israel would be troubled in their anticipation of this potential messiah. The Israelites were no doubt worried about this because they were occupied by Rome at the time. A messiah would either free the Israelites entirely from Rome's yolk, or cause still more trouble for israel. The gentiles are those kings who are coming to see the Christ child and are asking Herod where he is. They are assuming that Herod is a Jew and that Herod would know where this king of the Jews to be born. These gentiles would not know about the squabbles of the Jews among themselves, or about how Caesar had set this false King Herod on David's throne. These gentiles would simply want to meet this potential King of the Jews who's star they saw in the heavens. Yes the gentiles love this king of the Jews because he is the Jew the gentiles trust according to the scriptures. Yes some gentiles do indeed worship him as a co-equal trinity, but true Christians do not worship him as God. True Christians understand that he is the king of the Jews, whom God has placed on David's throne as Messiah. And they understand that Jesus is declared a god just as Moses was declared a god at Exodus 4:16 and exodus 7:1. Jesus is also declared a God by God add Psalm 838 and Hebrews 1:8. He's also called mighty God at Isaiah 9:6. Now why would God call a human mighty god and Isaiah 9:6? I believe there is a scripture in the Old Testament where people come and worship the king of Israel. I can't remember if it was David or Solomon which it says they worshiped him. Obviously it means obeisance, not worship as we do with the most high God. This could be a translation flaw. The Jews are not held uniquely accountable for jesus's death. The Jews brought the charges against Jesus, but the Romans carried out the execution Mafia style. My question would be about the Toledoth Jeschu. It is a little confusing for most people- and I wonder if Rabbi Singer could explain what is going on with this text- and clear up the confusion about it.
Every single denomination of Christianity has missionaries trying to promote their version and interpretation of scripture. There is no way to recall them all and tell them to leave the Jews alone. The only thing that can be done about the missionaries is to remind them of their true task which is to spread the good news of the kingdom of God which is imminent, and to baptize in the name of the father, the son, and the holy Spirit, and to teach all the things that Jesus taught to those who are willing to receive it. If the Jews don't want to receive it, if the Jews rejected, the missionaries are obligated to not the dust from their shoes and move on. Does that mean the Jews are going to go away and stop it entirely or are just new missionaries going to come and take their place and try again? Those missionaries want the prophecy fulfilled that all the Jews except Jesus as Messiah and call on him as Messiah. Incidentally, the scripture says that not all the Jews will, but only a remnant will. That may be the messianics. It remains to be seen.

Malachi criticizes the Jews even more than the nations, who are much worse than the Jews by far, because God holds the Jews to a higher standard as the Kings and priests between God and the Nations! Yes, the prophets were the delivers of the messages of God to the Jewish people. The Levites were the doctors or the makers of the medicine in the kitchen. The Jewish people were the servers or the nurses who were tending to the spiritually ill and hungry by delivering spiritual food. If they were sick or unclean, they could not do their duties as servers. I once called a rabbi to find out about taking classes from him. He told me in order to take classes from him I had to pay him $365, I had to empty my mind of everything I've ever been taught, I had to disavow Jesus as Messiah. Well I certainly could have paid him $365 for this 6-week course. I could have emptied my mind of everything I had ever learned. But I could not disavow Jesus as my Messiah and savior. Needless to say I didn't take his class. The problem here is that the Jews seem to think that the Christians are teaching something entirely against Judaism. Christianity as a sect of Judaism is no further off than Rabbi Friedman is from Rabbi Shlomo. Catholicism is not Christianity at all, therefore should not be confused with Christianity ever!

Spirits are sent into the fetuses of most animal life, and a small piece of that Spirit becomes the mind of that flesh. When the flesh dies, your Spirit is supposed to go back to Heaven. One of the main reasons for this approach to life is so that you can learn what it is truly like to be these various animals. You can exonerate a person by holding them sinless. You cannot exonerate a person by holding that someone else is more sinful than the person giving the victim the death sentence though admittedly innocent. The more I listen to this Singer guy the more transparent he becomes. Forget all the evidence to the contrary, he believes the New Testament is just a made up story. I used to always wonder why so many Christians disliked and even downright hated the Jews, but the more I listen to Singer I begin to understand the way many Christians feel about the Jews. What evidence? If you know what that the Messiah in the Tanalk will fulfill and a person says they are such a person, what would be your evidence he is what and who he says he is. When I found out that Christianity, no matter which one of the thousands of different kinds of Christianity, makes no sense at all, I became an agnostic.

Jesus understood very well what was happening to him. He was fulfilling the prophecy which said he would be silent as a lamb before the shearers. Jesus did not defend himself because to defend himself would be to put the blame on those members of the Sanhedrin who had brought charges against him. Jesus was there to die for their sins as well in keeping with his Father's will.
Jesus experience on the cross proves the depths of his humanity! He was experiencing doubt that his God was still with him. Didn't job go through something similar during his suffering? Job remain faithful through everything, just as Jesus did, but job still doubted God right towards the end, questioning God. Here the human Jesus reacts just like Job did.

It's not a totally different Jesus! It's different people finding different things significant to them in the event! There's something there for everybody! Just as each one of the 12 disciples had character flaws and positive points that everyone on Earth can identify with, each one of the gospels demonstrates something significant that everyone can hone in on.

Jesus reiterates the fundamental teachings of the Torah throughout the book of Matthew, but you say it's going to kill us. Why doesn't it kill us when we read it in the Torah directly? Jesus did not know what was going to happen to him but he believed what God told him was going to happen to him. Jesus believed that he would be resurrected because God told him that he would. Jesus didn't spend the weekend in paradise, he spent the weekend in hell talking to the spirits their, letting them know that he had just defeated the enemy, sin and death, and now owned the keys to death and the grave. Jesus now has the tools to redeem mankind from death.

Jerusalem was upset by the news of the Messiah being born in Bethlehem because they had been anticipating the Messiah for a long time, so they were both agitated and anticipating the news of the Messiah born in Bethlehem.
The word troubled may not be the correct translation, but perturbed or anticipated might be better.
Herod was worried because he was not the legitimate king of israel, and if God had sent a legitimate king, Herod knew that he could be dethroned. He had to eliminate this competition. The rest of Israel would be troubled in their anticipation of this potential messiah.
The Israelites were no doubt worried about this because they were occupied by Rome at the time. A messiah would either free the Israelites entirely from Rome's yolk, or cause still more trouble for israel.
The gentiles are those kings who are coming to see the Christ child and are asking Herod where he is. They are assuming that Herod is a Jew and that Herod would know where this king of the Jews to be born. These gentiles would not know about the squabbles of the Jews among themselves, or about how Caesar had set this false King Herod on David's throne. These gentiles would simply want to meet this potential King of the Jews who's star they saw in the heavens.

I believe there is a scripture in the Old Testament where people come and worship the king of Israel. I can't remember if it was David or Solomon which it says they worshiped him. Obviously it means obeisance, not worship as we do with the most high God. This could be a translation flaw.

Every single denomination of Christianity has missionaries trying to promote their version and interpretation of scripture. There is no way to recall them all and tell them to leave the Jews alone.
The only thing that can be done about the missionaries is to remind them of their true task which is to spread the good news of the kingdom of God which is imminent, and to baptize in the name of the father, the son, and the holy Spirit, and to teach all the things that Jesus taught to those who are willing to receive it.
If the Jews don't want to receive it, if the Jews rejected, the missionaries are obligated to not the dust from their shoes and move on.

Spirits are sent into the fetuses of most animal life, and a small piece of that Spirit becomes the mind of that flesh. When the flesh dies, your Spirit is supposed to go back to Heaven. One of the main reasons for this approach to life is so that you can learn what it is truly like to be these various animals. If Creation is successful all the way through, then we are to become Mind's of Infinity ourselves and Creators. The more I listen to this Singer guy the more transparent he becomes. Forget all the evidence to the contrary, he believes the New Testament is just a made up story. I used to always wonder why so many Christians disliked and even downright hated the Jews, but the more I listen to Singer I begin to understand the way many Christians feel about the Jews. I understand now why Jesus talked about the Jews being blinded and can't see the truth and don't want to see the truth, and they will stay blinded and will not be allowed to understand and believe and be healed.
What evidence? If you know what that the Messiah in the Tanalk will fulfill and a person says they are such a person, what would be your evidence he is what and who he says he is. Jesus didn't fulfill anything that he was supposed to do if he was to be the Messiah, so your book is just a book of fiction.

The issue here is what do both say, and why are they not in such in some of the offered proof texts. If you choose G-d at all, that's an important question. Or it is for me.
