Any expert can see it will reduce actual maneuvrability, which was above any other machine in existence. Whatever advantage it had over the raptor (slim but yes, it had) is lost once the Inconel-style alloy Nozzles go 2Dis (they have a limited spin for semi 3D nozzle control, one can see clearly in the image). But nothing beats true 3D, Loved the 1st version despite the downside of stealth ability. It really showcases that this is still an ongoing project, with some downsides to be tackled still. But it is a beautiful aircraft indeed. For the silly people here saying that it is an old design, there are things in it that you have no idea about probably, and that can be found in no other airframe in the world. It is probably one of the world's most advanced fighters, if not top of the line. But the defending arguments of this magnificent airplane are also based on " 'cause I say so, and I feel butthurt if you say it is not the best... ". Russia currently has one of the best. But I, knowing more than a few people familiar with these airframes, will tell you the same. SU-57 is Maneuvrability on top, but quite possibly below on other aspects. And it is not like head and shoulders above. A sharp pilot with a tool like the F-22 will kill any SU-57 Pilot that doesn't have their skills super polished. And vice versa. Let's just hope it will happen in another time, when both the US and Russia and China's leadership stop acting like spoiled little children. The outcome of this would not be good for anyone. Change the title to 3D stealth nozzles!!! Only thing it did was solidify what was known for a long time by most... its a stealth plane period. Maneuverability was never even discussed or a point of contention...hell even su-35 is more manueverable then f-22. Su-30 even more so. Having an angled semi flat nozzle with 3d prospect just surpassed f-22 on a thousand levels. The rest of the plane from technological and stealth point of view is supreme. Raptor is now firmly in second place and Russia being the only other nation in the world with such an engine. By the way flat nozzles aren't anything new even Soviets played with it in the 80s placing it on su-27 for testing. Yak-141 was in the works there was already next design for yak-43 on the drawing board with just such an engine. After collapse of Soviet union everything went to hell. Now its taken time to catch up but we didn't just catch up we have surpassed the Americans. Same way Buran surpassed the space shuttle. Hell we had laser tanks. Western down talking our army has only had one goal propaganda not factual talking points. We can also do alot more with alot less something they don't even know how to.
