Yeah every place in Miami Beach adds gratuity by default just because there are so many international travelers who aren't used to US tipping culture. 20% is standard in the US now, so just check the bill when you get it and if it's added, no need to tip extra. I've totally done the double tip thing like you two before and I mean, who cares at the end of the day, it went to people who have a tough job and you had a fun time anyway. And the gun thing is totally real. You don't get the luxury of honking your horn at anybody here or calling out somebody for being rude on the street because who knows if they have a gun.
Everybody having a gun is a bit unrealistic. The grand majority don’t even carry guns in florida. Ppl just like to scare everyone by saying everyone has a gun.
There’s a lot of European that travel to Miami and tipping is not common. It’s a standard in USA but some ppl don’t tip. It make service in slow and suckie b/c they don’t have to work for it.
Service can be slow and sucky here too and we have to tip.
