    Good advice! I’ve found summertime is the best season to get premium money for wood. The cheap and quick buck people cut and sell “ seasoned” firewood in the winter, not summer time. The people in the summer are buying for campfires and they’ll pay whatever for good wood that will light up. These rec burners also don’t have trucks and will pay for delivery. I’ve also found a lot of people that want nice premium wood such as oak or hickory for winter heating buy in the summer because they want to go into winter prepared. Keep the videos coming!

      Thanks Genin! Those are some really good points that I never really considered. There’s definitely ways to obtain top value out of your wood. I feel like I’m just behind all the time 😂 The seasoning part is definitely the part thats uncontrollable, it’s hard to change that 🤔 Appreciate the great comment 👊🏻👍🏻

    Awesome video and advice. I’ve been doing the same thing, focusing on specialty premium firewood for smokers and solo stoves. Still selling mixed hardwood but trying to sell the premium oak for more specific customers. Good stuff!

      Thanks Todd. Hopefully it was good useful info to some who may be hesitant on pulling the trigger with Value Added Firewood. It’s been really profitable for me so far. Plus the normal firewood sales will hopefully benefit as well 👍🏻 Do you sell anything shorter? Or like mini firewood?

      @@McKameyFarms I’ve been selling smaller, shorter splits (12-14”) in bundles for solo stoves. People have liked the speciality bundles. I have recently started selling bags of mini firewood but haven’t had any interest. My Facebook marketplace ad gets lots of views, but no takers.

    Great info Brandon!! Appreciate the video man. I’ve wanted to advertise for smoker wood on Facebook but I’ve been busy with just “word of mouth” sales lately for bbq customers. I’d rather do like what you’re doing and ask a little more for it on Facebook but I don’t have much time right now for deliveries. You know how it is, once you post it on marketplace it usually gets attention. Your channel has really grown lately, glad for ya!!

    Hey Brandon, Meet with you recently Picked up couple bundles worth in my jeep. I mentioned I know a lot about metal but nothing about wood other than it was a tree lol. How about a video talking about good woods for campfires vs smoking and the whys. Would be great for those like me!

      The one basket of hickory, I had actually held over so it was about 18 months. The other was standing dead and only seasoned about 2-3 months. I have asked the smoker customers and they don’t really have a preference. They just don’t want it (wet).. I try to be as transparent as I can on the FB ads with Moisture, etc. Seems like a little bit of moisture is okay for them

  • @Lens-KeepingBusy

    Good to know Brandon, just wondering what moisture content is the Oak ? For smoker wood, what are they asking for 👍🚜

    • @McKameyFarms
      @McKameyFarms  3 месяца назад +1

      The oak I sold to the smoker customer was around 25%. Not really green, but not quite firewood dry. Should make for a long burn and some good smokiness. No real preference so far other than “just not dripping wet green”
