- Garden tour of my Ukrainian house in the United States. The tradition of floral decorative paintings are old in Ukraine. Simple households couldn't afford expensive glass, wooden or ceramic ornamental embellishments, so they turned to the colorful medium of painted designs.

We have many Ukrainians who have married into our family so hearing you speak of your traditions and home life in the Ukraine makes me miss them terribly! Thank you so much for taking time to share your culture and gardening knowledge with us. You feel like a trusted sister sharing your heart on such a personal level. Down here in Tennessee we have a much different climate, but I still enjoy learning and applying all you teach while making slight adjustments to our zone 7 gardening. Take care!

Oh I think it's so awesome that you and your husband decided to use elements representing your cultures on your house. Nothing too crazy or overpowering the architecture of your neighbourhood. Besides it must be truly stunning in winter when the garden isn't as interesting to look at. Beautiful integration of tradition.
