I just s tarted working on this yesterday and I'm picking it up slowly, first at 1/2 speed and now up to 3/4 speed. It's so technically challenging, but I appreciate you putting this tab up for us. Thanks!
Outstanding performance! The original was recorded with a keyboard / sampler. I never saw the great Graham Maybe himself perform this live. (and I have looked) Friday by Joe Jackson is a great bass line as well, in case your looking for ideas for a video... :)
Thank you very much! ☺️ In this video at 3:08 you can see Graham playing the line live. However, he plays the first F# an octave higher. ruclips.net/video/AjKizz8HNAQ/видео.html
@@tiefsaiter Thank you for recommending this video. I started playing Bass the same year the first Joe Jackson album, Look Sharp came out in 1979. I was surprised to find out Graham Maby played a 77 Ibanez silver series Bass with Black tapewound strings through a Fender Bassman 135.

I think this is one of the most difficult bass reef around, you did it very well
AWESOME!

Wow , that is grafting on those octaves! great song and superbly played ❤💙
This is fabulous you are exactly technically perfect through the whole thing.. !
On POINT! Awesome tutorial! 👊🙌
Hello Bernd, Thank's for your work. It's top.
That's right!!!👌👌
Another great bass line to learn. it works well as an exercise but a lot more fun thanks
So beautiful!!! Love this tune - you nailed it with a great lesson! Thank you!
Well done, mate.
Joe Jackson used a machine for the bass line on this song. No actual basses were harmed in the studio recording.
You're right, and that's exactly what I wrote in the video description 😉
😂😂😂.
Excellent. I've tried to learn this song. It's so hard to keep that constant rhythm going at tempo for 3 1/2 minutes straight.
Thanx. You're right. It is a little sporting challenge... ;-)
Damn good job
Now I just have to repeat this 5000 times til it sinks in. O_O
I've got the bits in my head now. Just gotta make my wrist do it. Dam.
it only takes a few years, then it's easy 😅

I'm tired just watching this. Fantastic. How long did it take you to nail this one?
Wow! Really great job, you make it look so easy too! (Which I know it's not) 👏
Thanx a lot! :-)
Great job, very smooth bass playing and overall musicianship. Hope you'll post a RUclips just like this of "Valarie" by Steve Winwood!
Must be one hell of a workout for the wrist
:-)
🤩
A “disco-octave” workout!!!
Yes and much more easy to play on keyboard. ;-)
