I did wonder about that primary cover - in the "bag of nails (crisps)" video it looked odd and I thought it was visual distortion from the.mirror! Glad I'm not losing it ..

Just seen this. Mine has a rattle. But after just repacling cam chain and the tensioner complete, I am going to put up with it! Nice ride though. 1973 also.@@williamnethercott4364

My first bike was a CD175 of 1973 vintage, if memory serves. It was very reliable.

It would be handy to have an oil level hole like that on my AJS primary chain case but it is more by guess work.
