my insurance covers it but I had to show 6 months of exercise logs and diet counseling. I was pre-approved for 6 months. I lost 15lbs in the first month.

That's good progress! What did you think about having to do the exercise and diet logs?

it’s not, “like a high dose mounjaro” it is the same drug repackaged under a different name with EXACT same dosing schedule, however, Zepbound is FDA approved to treat obesity.

Thanks for watching and engaging. The full video linked has the whole story. Saying "It's the same medication as Mounjaro in a higher dose," didn't have the same ring to it for short-form content 🙄
Calling this a content mill with insufficient research/knowledge is much less accurate.

I see what you mean about the dosing schedule. I stand by summarizing tirzepatide for weight loss as high dose Mounjaro, with the understanding that the doses for weight loss will generally be higher than for management of diabetes.
This is a useful intro for the lay person in short form content.
The problem is you diluted your message with personal attacks instead of focusing on the technical accuracy. It's not being harsh; it's being a jerk. It's not welcomed here, thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. I prefer the presentation here because it concisely communicates the key point of the new approval.
Otherwise, it takes a technical report of patient-based potential dosing that is beyond my scope of practice, the purpose of this channel, or the format of a RUclips short. I'm comfortable referring people to their doctor for specific questions about these medications and dosing.

Does that mean insurance will cover it?

This does not mean insurance will cover it. It means that it is considered safe enough for doctors to prescribe. It's one step that might lead to insurance companies covering it!

@NolaMarieSings01 whether it’s covered will depend on which insurance plan one is covered under, some do cover obesity medicine … of those that do, many require preauthorization based on certain stipulations for BMI and having failed X numbers of obesity drugs listed on carriers preferred drug list.

Diabetic patients also can take this?

    • @fitforfreelance

@user-sy4tc7xg9v they'd have to ask their doctor 🤗 Tirzepatide is the active ingredient in a diabetes medication called Mounjaro. It's the same active ingredient and dose sizes as this Zepbound. Usually, if necessary, doctors will prescribe Mounjaro for diabetes treatment, or Zepbound for weight loss.

One of clients takes it and his insurance covers it. Otherwise he would pay 1k monthly for the medication.
