And anyone that has used a mercury thermometer can tell you there is a very clear red line at the 37° mark.
@@tmdosu well then you should also know that that is an average temperature. For example if you measure it under the tongue, the avg temperature is 0.5C lower compared to armpits. And on top of that it varies from person to person and depends on whether you're doing work or not

well yes actually it is, your body prioritizes your crotch (among a few other things) when it comes to heating up, i dont know if this true but a friend thats a total history nerd related ot war and shit and is in cadets told me that soldiers either currently do or used to put their hands in their pants to warm them up idk if its true as i was told that a while ago but hey fun fact if it is
The back of your neck can get pretty warm too since it has several arteries running along the spine.
It makes sense since many veins pass through the region, and also as the hands are peripheral parts (is that the word?) of your body they cool faster than the rest of your body.
from personal experience, the best place is to stick it in your armpit, crotch is fine but if there's people around you can always check your temp using your armpit
I think it's best if you put both your hands in your armpits rather than the crotch. Sure it's toasty but at the same time gives you awful looks from your peers while making your hand smell atrocious and unhygienic.
Not so much your body prioritizing anything so much as you have an enormous amount of blood needing to run through your legs. The body is geared to protect organs and arteries first.

It is important to use the right scale depending on what part you mesure, since each spot will give diffenrent results and the the body heat should stay withitn ~+-1,5C° of the expected avarage temperature
Best places are covered all around by the body since that will result in less infuence from the air temparuture(and of than there's also the outlier mesureing on the forhead, but thats only a valuable spot for infrared thermometer)
Isn't the hottest part of the Human body it's core (torso) since it's always working and pumping the heart and lungs? It's also the largest part.

You can put a thermostat stick against it since most of it will be surounded by air
And you probably wont use a IF one cause you'd need to dress down first unlike with the head
And all of this makes IF thermostats on the head (forehead to be specific) the most popular option for resturans and such

For best accuracy use a rectal thermometer. If you don't have one of those use one that you place under your tongue. If you have a digital version that scans your forehead use that.
Is that a fact? I got an ear thermometer, same ones as doctors use, so less discomfort and seemingly accurate enough for professionals, though it costs a pretty penny.
