    This one is my favourite video, inspiring! In the other videos you showed us how the pro lifestyle really looks like, that's full of fun and very interesting. But this video just reminds us how good you really are, impressive! I can guess there's a cruel side of competitive sport, that's when someone that is so good winning every race finally arrives at the top and found him or herself could not win again. I think this mental challenge is huge, perhaps even beyond the competition and the sport itself. (that's my wild guess never had a chance to experience myself)

    Hi Cody, I started following your vlogs just a month ago. I must say they are really inspiring. Today, I will be starting listening to your podcasts as well. as a matter of fact I am listening to your first podcast with Blake Pieroni. I have even swimming since almost 18 years now but I have never qualified for nationals. A few months ago after not performing well and not qualifying for University nationals, I thought about giving up swimming, and I almost did. but something inside me didn't keep me away from swimming. After watching all your vlogs, one thing is clear that I cant stay away and love water as much as you do. After the lockdown in my country (India) is over and I'll be allowed to get back to be pool, I will be putting my 200% in practice and won't stop until I accomplish my goal. Thank you so much for inspiring me and I hope to fly down to USA someday and get a chance to swim 50 Breaststroke with you. It would be privilege to do so. Thank you. All the best and Take care.

    Hey Cody, I'm currently 14 and I want to get into swimming. I would love to make it a career but I haven't had much previous experience and now with pools being closed I'm afraid I might find it difficult to catch up to everyone once I'm 15. I want to know if there are any tips I could hear? (As well as any other swimmers who have tips please) You inspire me immensely Cody! And I really hope we can meet someday :D

    • @fionafrancesca8604
      @fionafrancesca8604 4 года назад +2

      I started pretty late, when I was 12. I'm 15 now and definitely not the best, but the important things are the memories and progress you make. You aren't only a successful swimmer if you win, although that's awesome if you do. In my opinion, a successful swimmer is someone who works to improve to the best of their ability, and if/when they retire from the sport they can honestly say they gave it their all. It's good to compete with others but don't put yourself down if you aren't as fast as them yet. Everyone has a different path and are at different places on their journey through swimming. Just stick with it and learn to love it, and you'll make plenty of amazing memories no matter how far you go!

    • @aharder5765
      @aharder5765 4 года назад +2

      I started swimming at age 17, and getting up to speed with my peers has been challenging, but I challenge myself find one thing to improve on with every swim. If you have the drive to get better and really commit yourself to our sport, you will find passion and love for it.
      I would say getting comfortable in the water is a good start. Run a bath and get your face underwater. If it's warm enough and you are able to, go down to the lake/ocean and just swim. Watch videos about swim techniques, understand each of the strokes. Get in contact with your local club or school team and find out what you have to do for the placement test. Do dryland exercises, build up your strength. Study up on what it takes to be a high class swimmer. Don't expect to be an Olympic level swimmer or a State qualifier right away, these things take time.

    • @Valmue
      @Valmue 4 года назад +1

      @@aharder5765 Thanks a lot!! Currently I think I have to wait to join a club or a team but I've been spending quite a bit of time looking at techniques and I'm planning to get into some dry land exercises as well! I know I won't be Olympic standard right away but I'm gonna aim for as high as I can go(though I'll always start with small goals in mind first) I believe if I do that I can possibly have a chance at, at least being able to make it a job!

      @Valmue 4 года назад +2

      @@fionafrancesca8604 Thank you so much for the advice! I'll make sure to keep it in mind 。◕‿◕。 I'm going to aim as high I can even while using small goals to get there and then I will be able to say I've give it my all!
