I know math is a challenge for most people… But the truth is still the truth… And for all who began wondering when the influencer here said she and her friend had done some calculations that showed that using Allies of skin would be pretty much the same cost as prescription Tretinoin, your wondering is quite valid… In reality Allies of skin products as an alternative for Tretinoin will cost a LOT more than any prescription or online compound will do. When you count you need to count how much you use every time, the dosage. As in reality all use of retinoids is dose dependent. With Tretinoin the normal dosage it is a pea size. When you use a product like allies of skins retinal product it comes in the form of a moisturiser with retinal in it. And you will then use way more of that than a pea size. Usually about two pea sizes for the face. (As they don’t offer any information on how much of the product you need to get the full dosage of retinal, it will however be a bit of a guess. What we can know however is that you will most likely need more not less… Secondly you ought to know that with online prescriptions you can get them delivered at the pace you finish them and usually they last at least a month and a half if you dose is a pea size. But even if you need more and have to get one product sent every month it is still cheaper. You also have shelf life to consider. Tretinoin has a pretty good shelf life. Retinal does not. In essence and regardless of that you will need at least to buy a new allies of skin tube every other month, preferably more often if you truly want the full effect of the retinal. If I get a prescription Tretinoin compound it costs around 30 € a month, that adds up to 360 € a year if I get a new tub every month. For me who only need a pea size I need a new prescription tub every month and a half. So for someone like me the sum is 270 € a year. If I were to switch to allies of skins retinal cream 0,1% I would need to buy a new tube every other month. And that would end up costing a whopping 870 € a year. (145€ per tube) In essence it is more than twice the cost, almost three times the cost. As much as the influencer here want to get off Tretinoin, which is totally up to her, I have no opinion whatsoever pro or against that. But don’t feed people total misinformation about the costs. 360€ a year is expensive. But 870€ is an arm and a leg more expensive for a sub par product. Retinal can’t do what Tretinoin does. In reality there is no evidence that says that the retinal in a product you buy from a skincare company does anything for your skin, since you have no way of knowing how much of it that actually will convert to retinoic acid on your skin. Or how much of the retinal in the product actually is functioning as it should. Skincare companies don’t have to show up any evidence for the efficacy of their products. Nor do they have to disclose how long the retinal stays fresh and potent in their formulation. Medical companies do have to be able to guarantee their products efficacy from the time you open the tub to the time it is finished, it has to perform in accordance with what their formula promises. Now these are the fact of the matter. And I am by that not saying that people can’t get some results with skincare retinoids. But one cannot expect anywhere near the results you can get from Tretinoin. The difference between the strongest retinal products on the market and the lowest dosage of Tretinoin on the market is that Tretinoin according to scientists who actually test the different forms of retinoids is about 20 times more potent. That is a difference that can’t be ignored. Personally I think retinal products are great for younger people who don’t yet have any real struggles with ageing skin. Retinal can help maintain a good cell turn over balance and help keep the skin staying on a good cell turn over level. And you don’t need super expensive allies of skin to achieve that either. As then you need just a nudge. But once you pass 40-50 years of age and you have lines you want to stop getting any deeper or you want improved even - then you will need Tretinoin. And thank goodness that is getting more readily available these days. And to a much more affordable price compared to products that will not do much for your skin, (since if they did, they would need to succumb to the tests that products that do much for your skin or you body needs to… as that is what’s medical treatments need to go through in order to be safe to use…). But above all do not make people believe products like allies of skin are not expensive. As they truly are. And way more so than any prescription Tretinoin product ever will be. ❣️
@@SkinObsessedMary How about saying that then instead of feeding people untruths about skincare products being equally effective and equal in price? That a medical treatment is not working for you does not mean it becomes correct to say that whatever substitute skincare product you get from a company that sponsors you and your channel can offer the same results to an equal price when clearly there is no evidence supporting that whatsoever. And in fact the opposite is true. That it does not offer the same results and is three to four times more expensive… You may use whatever you want and you may say you like this or that better than using a prescription treatment. That is absolutely fine. But don’t feed people falsifications and lies to make them think that you can get the same results from an at least 20 times less effective skin care product (according to studies that has compared retinal products to Tretinoin). Or that buying such skincare products iends up being the same cost for the consumer… As clearly that is just not true… People are gullible and want to be able to trust what people like you say. And it is therefore not very cool to take advantage of that.

Fair enough. However tret doesn't work for my skin, so it's not an option.
That it does not offer the same results and is three to four times more expensive…
You may use whatever you want and you may say you like this or that better than using a prescription treatment.
