These Wi-Fi 7 products look amazing! Bravo TP-Link you hit a homerun! I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a Wi-Fi 7 router! A great video that thoroughly explains each device perfectly!!! 😀
The question as always with TP-Link, will any of these products get more than three or four firmware updates before there's a new hardware revision and owners of the older revision are forgotten about? Due to poor software support, I would never put a TP-Link device facing the internet, as their products are simply not safe to use, as they are not patched against real threats.
That is actually not a question with TP-link. It is a given, at least with their consumer products that they will stop supporting their perfectly working hardware with software updates after a year or so. Worst part of it is that, it's not dependent on the date of purchase. It seems to me that TP-link products are managed with release date and last date of software support finalized at time of design. A consumer could end up buying a TP-Link product already past this last date of software support. I've done that especially with wifi enabled powerline products. The latest update software was from a year before my purchase date from bestbuy. It's really risky to run wifi devices that do not receive security patches and software updates. TP-Link products tend to be solid and they keep on going even with very old firmware versions. But in terms of networking gear with old unpatched unsecured firmware, they should not be run at the edge or in wifi. They're okay in a home network, only for wired access i.e. switch and behind firewall layers.
@@CloverMind this is main problem with tp-link - I was using their business routers few months, most business cases reported on forums are resolved after year or two...but only in new devices - when you reported problem - it will be solved but in newer device. I am looking for a WIFI6 router this black Friday. And you are introducing wifi 7 now😢😢😢. Should I wait 2-3 year and get a Wifi 7? My wifi 5 router is still going strong.
Get the Wifi 6e if you really need to get a router now. I don't see no need for Wifi 7 unless you have over 100 devices to connect including 8K streams and VR/AR technologies.
@@5thdynasty Thanks brother. I have no need for a new router. My AC86U is going strong but we now have more wifi 6 devices at home. I am thinking updating a WIFI 6 at a good price to take advantage of new tech. AX86U is at $300, so I may just stay with wifi 5 then update to 6E/7 in 3-5 years.
Dear TP-Link, I'm a loyal user of yours far before Decos become a thing (I had some older gen routers before Archer AC5400 and now I'm using Deco X90s along with Powerlines. Where I'm residing at the moment, the speed we are getting from ISP isn't like in the HK, SG, TW, Western EU or US. But I'm happy to share that I have a stable internet speed all across 3 floors building under one SSID, mesh system if you want to call it with TP-Link gears that I've set up.). I tried to use other brands but since I'm so familiar to your GUI / web menus since old generation routers, it is just a common sense for me to keep on using what I know and used to rather than learning new interfaces and screw up somewhere. Sadly, I don't see myself to keep on using your routers or Decos in the future if the features are still not properly implemented.
1. Your QoS doesn't work to my needs. I'm not sure if I messed up somewhere somehow, but I just can't get it to work to my needs. I believe many of your users want to limit the bandwidth used by certain devices like AIoT from their network, but I couldn't get it to work. The bed time feature certainly works and I'm a user for that feature you offered. Other brands' QoS works wonderfully and I had to use their product in a certain area / space that I need that QoS features.
2. Please don't make it so funny where we HAVE to buy your RE (the ONLY OPTION to expand the range of a wireless network). Let me elaborate more. I understand that there are many options to expand a wireless netwrok. With Decos, so much less of a hassle if you know where to place the satellites. And if your surroundings allow that too, one note is walls aren't thick like bunker type walls. Have fun with internet speeds if someone's home or small office has that kind of wall tickness. AP, well that is one way to do it too for sure with LAN connection. In this example, I'm talking about your base to mid range AX routers. Why can't we consumers 'mesh' an Archer AX10 to an existing wireless connection of an Archer AX50? Or an Archer AX50 to an Archer AX90 / AX6000? Instead THE ONLY OPTION to expand is via RE, old or the new generation of RE with AX / WiFi 6. I understand from the business perspective, but other brands do not limit like you do. They can simply add routers and/or nodes to an existing wireless connection, with note that the main connection is made with a higher end models and the following nodes / satellites being one below it and so on.
What would happen if you, a giant network tech company lose a consumer like me? Surely, nothing. And this isn't a rant and not even a whining from me. Instead, my token of gratitude in the form of feedbacks to you from a consumer of yours for almost a decade. My wish is to continue to use your products now and in the future and of course with my networking needs fulfilled somehow with the features being offered. May be I posted this at the wrong media (your forum might be better place I guess). Anyway, I hope someone from TP-Link who handles this type of PR thingy, kind enough to read and may be, pass on the message to the appropriate department. Cheers TP-Link.
33:14 - Intensive Seamless Roaming Experiences - I WISH! This is my only complaint about the Deco system. We have a Wife 6E system of X90 / X4300 Pro units and once you are connected to the correct unit speeds are TERRIFC! However, move around and good luck until things get so bad it is forced to roam. Have worked with support, added the 3 additional X4300 Pro units and still issues. Had an older Amplfi system that worked great for the hardware it had and truly allowed seamless roaming. Was just capped at about 80-90 Mbps at best. Hopefully this gets addressed and then it really will be the experience they are touting in the video.
I wonder why omada can’t be a bit cheaper for the home users. Here are some ideas, combine the router with the controller in one device. Less production cost and more value to the users.
Since the controller is ideal for managing over 100 network devices and 99% os households have less than 3 your suggestion would just increase the price of the router for nothing.
The thing about technologies like these is that... there's a lot of ** that no one reads.. "This feature is only available if your device is compatible with 320Mhz**" "Multiple streams are download only**" Just like wireless AC that promised multiple streams.. but in actuality... not really.
