I’ve just bought an EP, and your description here gives a better idea of how it works than the manual does- thank you! I need to check out that cross fade firmware too…
I'm loving this creation. I don't have hardware but this is inspirational. I'm going to see what I can make using Wotja into Ableton Live Drone Lab and various effect plugins.
If you are on a Mac, the Norris plugins will put you in similar territory. You might need to host them outside of Wotja though. For some reason their UI doesn’t display properly in Wotja on my system www.michaelnorris.info/software/soundmagic-spectral
How would you expand this system if you had the same modules with 22 more hp and a 1u row (intellijel palette)? Considering something similar focused on drones and sample manipulation.
I did expand it! Not to Palette proportions but this pod wasn’t big enough to accommodate the EP expander, which is a must have and (I hope)that if they ever make a v2 of the hardware they build it in. So once that came out I had to rethink the whole thing and eventually reworked it into a self contained dronebox. The end result is in this video ruclips.net/video/wVmptn6AtXk/видео.html and I think for my purpose it’s as “finished” as any modular system can be. I’ve had a few questions along similar lines so I’m thinking about doing a talk through video of that system explaining the choices l made and why I made them. But that might take me some time to put together. The rack is here www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/968412
Amazing! Really thinking about an endless processor for my next purchase! This in this patch are you basically just catching snippets from various samples you have on the Disting while the EnOsc just drones on a single chord in the background? Any post processing or external effects?
No. It’s a live performance recorded direct to the camera. No post processing. The only fx used are a reverb from the FX Aid in the pod. The 2 outs from the Endless Processor are mixed to a single mono feed using an offscreen passive summing mixer but apart from that all the audio comes from the modules you see onscreen and nothing else. Note that since I made this video the EP firmware was revised and it now behaves in a slightly different way. You can get the same kind of results with it, but the process is different. There is a link in the video to another one showing how the newer firmware behaves. There is also an expander available now which gives pitch shifting on both channels and is highly recommended!
Would you happen to still know what FX you were likely using in the FXAid at the end of the chain (just to have an idea of how much work of that beautiful sound was also due to FXaid?)
Not 100% sure but it was probably delay into reverb with a moderate amount of feedback on the delay. That tends to be my go to end of chain for the EP because it smooths out the transitions between layers as the current firmware no longer crossfades between layers.

And I just bought one because of your demo.
Wow! That's beautiful 😍
Surreal! Love the soundscapes.

wow this thing is a beast
Thanks for doing this. Really helpful.
lovely demo. thanks

More info about the reasons behind that in this thread

@@UM_Corps Awesome! Thanks! Also for the Tipp with the other firmware.
Really nice
💙
Please list case and modules
Very nice!
Great!! its a pitty that you can not store your results on this module...
But it’s endless.
You can also save 5 with the new expander so they found a way.
