Although I think all the musicians who play in the Kami Band are fine musicians, for my part this is the best combination of all those musicians. This is the group of guys that were together when I got into Babymetal, and they will always be special to me. RIP Mikio 🙏
I think these sections were part of them needing to give the ladies regular breaks during the early years, but I agree that they should have been kept in the shows
We need the Kami band back. Their energy is insane! They brought a spontaneity and a playfulness that the modern super rehearsed performances lack. And the screams of Ohmura’s guitar are just out of this world (Fujioka san too of course, fox god rest his soul)

i recently discovered babymetal , and it took some time to get use to the singing to be honest , but the kami band is such a good group of musician , i can say i realy enjoy babymetal now, and this video is awesome i wish there was a studio version of that
This is sooooo good!! This is why I still like the OG Kami band more. They just know how to put on a show, and solos like this are just as good as the girls performing. West Kami still does some solos, but just doesn't have the same showmanship.
There's another version of this same instrumental--sadly, I don't recall which one offhand--where he pulls off some AMAZING double kick triplet flurries in his solo section that have to be heard to be believed.
Imagine this band paired with voices in the likes of Blaze Bayley, Warrel Dane, Tom Keifer, Randy Blythe, Miljenko Matijević or Joey Belladonna…🤯 That would be INCREDIBLE!!!
Kami-band as an independent band lacks a good composer. This is really important. You can play instruments as virtuoso as you like and sing well. But in the end everything is decided by the music itself. Those who wrote the music for Babymetal are just as important (if not more so). And these heroes who write great music often remain behind the scenes.
I just discovered Baby Metal a few days ago.I cant stop watching their vids. Theyre awesome and The Kami band is amazing. That drummer is SUPERB! Are they still with Baby Metal? I know Mikio died star gazing which sux. He was great.
That's based on the riffing from Nevermore's song "The Riverdragon" from "Dead Heart In a Dead World". I can think of way worse riffs to be inspired by and to steal from!

They are still there but almost always masked (different members) and with nothing of the freedom or presence they used to have.
