The ice flower is underestimated but I think it is really useful and cool seeing as you can freeze all the smaller enemies which are most enemies in the game. Plus, you can throw the ice block to destroy other enemies and you can destroy enemies a lot quicker. Fire is good too however you can't fire everything.
my favorite PowerUp is the pH one because you can automatically keeps shaking so you won't have to go when you shake with the normal it corn and you won't die
