    Thanks for the peripatetic video, Alasdair. Excellent for us Spurs fans to have their “Seoul mate” to update us all! I thought that the game against Kobe was a real test as they were very physical and definitely up for it. Lots of great skills on display from the young players. The Japanese fans were amazing and did not seem to stop singing for the whole game. This must have been a big boost to the players. Can we ship some of them over for the big derby matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium? I must say that I was surprised, when listening to the Yang Min-Hyeok interview on the Spurs website, to hear him say that he had not yet spoken to Sonny. I would have expected him to have sought Sonny’s advice before agreeing to move to Spurs. Do you think this was mainly due to a young man’s modesty and reticence to speak to a Korean legend?

    Why are some Spurs fans panicking about the lack of signings. We have a great squad and it is time to bring some of the academy players through to the first team, namely Alfie Devine, Jamie Donley and Mickey Moore. Mickey Moore might only be 16 but if he is good enough that is all that matters. We also have experience through the spine of the in Vicario, Biss Madders and Son. All we need to sign is a top quality striker, easily said then done!

    • @danielhammett2200
      @danielhammett2200 Месяц назад

      Because the job of the recruitment team each summer is to improve on the starting 11 of the season before so you can push further up the table. I think our youth are good and they can push for game time this season but we need immediate improvement on the staring 11 if we want to move up the table given the current squad managed 5th last season unless we are happy to remain where we are. I don't think we need to make a tonne of signings but I would like to see at least 2/3 more given 11 players have been shipped out and only 2 new faces have came in to start the next season, both likely starting as depth options until they prove themselves. It means we are 9 players down going into this season with extra games with us being back in Europe this season

    • @rhysjaggar4677
      @rhysjaggar4677 Месяц назад

      @@danielhammett2200 Actually we are none down as you are only allowed to register 25 senior players plus unlimited U21s. Spurs currently have 25 senior players, including 4 goalkeepers. From now on, replacements are needed for further sales/outgoing loans, but what's actually happened is shedding of the spare tyre, the excess fat in the squad. Including 12 U21s used last season/this pre-season, there are 37 players currently available for Postecoglou. There are probably a few more in the U21s/U18s to be called on if absolutely necessary.

    • @jordancollins6368
      @jordancollins6368 Месяц назад

      We were absolutely atrocious for 2/3 of last season. People seem to forget how toothless, gutless and predictable we were every week. Ange is tactically not very good in my opinion and to play like he does in this league you require incredible individual talent AND strength in depth so if we lose a key player the style remains the same. As we saw last season one injury to our full backs and we were miles off it. Our attack is shocking really and the midfield still hasn’t been strengthened properly. It’s very worrying to watch and given levy’s history I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t sign another first team starter this window.

    • @jordancollins6368
      @jordancollins6368 Месяц назад

      @@Security848gone by Christmas I reckon. Tactically he’s nowhere near good enough to get the best out of these players by playing that system. The personnel screams out for a 3 at the back but instead we play our two full backs in midfield and leave 2 players at the back all game. Every week last season we were dreadful and conceded the same goals over and over. Signing a kid and Werner on loan does nothing to change this.

      hope for what? We've done nothing in the transfer window, meanwhile Arsenal just signed a superstar Cb and sold some deadwood for 27m in one day. None of our kids are getting game time. Ange already showed last season he won't play kids. We need 3 top level signings and we're not getting any at this rate.

    • @Blackbird58
      @Blackbird58 Месяц назад

      @@daniel-j-harris I am certain that there are negotiations going on to sign new players-there is no way in hell that we are going into the next season without a seasoned, consistent striker and Spurs will be all over finding the right one.
      As for the "kids", they will be slowly integrated into the team as the season progresses-especially in European games and they will blow us all away!
      Ignore what the other teams are doing-I refuse to give them any headspace and I enjoy my footie more for it.

    • @Blackbird58
      @Blackbird58 Месяц назад

      @@daniel-j-harris Don't you think that there have been fundamental changes in the way that things are run at Spurs these days? AP came into the job having stated that he needed overall control of who comes in along with stays and who goes, this he appears to have got. Daniel Levy is now committed to the "project" and, given the amount of expectation AP's appointment has generated, he'd have to leave the country for his own safety if he started to pull back before AP got to build his ideal team and we got to see just how far he could take us.

    • @daniel-j-harris
      @daniel-j-harris Месяц назад

      @@Blackbird58 I don't know if there's been "fundamental changes", I'm not in the board room. I've not seen us do anything differently than we usually do. We're still hunting for cheap options and stinking out the transfer window.
      You say Ange gets control over ins/outs, how do we know if that's true? If it is true, then he's lost my confidence by signing Werner twice. Worrying decision.
      "Daniel Levy is now committed to the project" - is he? Where's the proof? We've signed 1 player and Levy is just worried about his hotel, that's all we hear on socials. He never speaks to us fans. I need proof, not fans telling me this and that.
      "he'd have to leave the country for his own safety" - would he? Because our fanbase are very soft. We don't protest and as soon as someone speaks up, like myself, dozens of fans defend Levy and the club and paint fans like me as the villain. I think Levy is right where he wants to be, making money, knowing that when anything goes wrong he can sack the manager and the fans will lap it up. He gets away with everything and we let him.
      I'm sorry, I've seen nothing to suggest this club has changed in 24 years bar some nice new buildings.

Having seen Poch's mood in the 2019 preseason compared to Ange now, I am still confident that things are going according to plan. Obviously, timing always depends on the selling club, so hopefully a domino effect helps us get these deals done. Spurs leadership is giving off real ‘Moneyball’ vibes right now. Signing players that are perfect for the system, that get overlooked by the big teams because of pre-conceived ideas of a bygone era. Bergvall and Yang are absolute steals, if they were English they are £30+ million each.
    The majority of the next trophy winning Spurs side is already there. We do not need to throw stupid money at big names like we did in the past, just look at the absolute state of Manchester United and Chelsea. Trust Lange and Ange, they have done a fantastic job at rebuilding the list. So much young talent, fantastic leaders and an age profile that is truly insane compared to 12 months ago. just some info on korean names for you ali: although the "correct" romanisation would be min-hyeok, the "eo" sound is pronounced more like "uh" so said like min-hyuhk. 민혁 min-hyeok is his "first" name while 양 yang is his surname but obviously as surname comes first in korean names its yang min-hyeok. I'm a little confused at spurs calling him yang rather than min-hyeok in his intro (Welcome Yang vs Welcome Archie or Welcome Lucas for example) bc it seems a little ignorant but maybe it was his preference lol

    Josh Keeley was the no.1 keeper in the U21 until he went out on loan.

    Great shout with Devine I think he’s been fantastic in pre season and I hope he stays to bolster the league cup/Europa squad.
    With these teams only being rotated by a couple of players each time rather than the 11 plus changes we’ve made in the past.
    Unfortunately I feel Skipp may have to move on for regular football, I really like him but feel his time to shine was during a period where he didn’t have the right managers and got freak injuries. He needs to move now I feel with the youngsters perhaps in a better position to come in and out when needed and Gray the player to start more often.

    • @rhysjaggar4677
      @rhysjaggar4677 Месяц назад +1

      You can't play 9 players in 50+ games in a season - they'll get injured. Needs to be careful thought about how you transition the XI so that not too many changes game to game but the key players don't go into the red zone. 40 games is optimal for key players with several others starting 15-30,

    • @LordCVandingo
      @LordCVandingo Месяц назад

      I agree the team should be rotated but not how we have been doing it in recent years where we basically play a different 11 in cup games. Change 2/3 and the next cup game change a different 2/3 but the basic team stays the same

      Harsh. I think his problem is fatigue, he never seems to really have a break, the way he moves reminds me of cr7 at 40 years of age. I think with a good rest and being injury free for a while he still has more to bring. I think he should try to bulk up abit and become a number 9. He has the finishing ability and decent height
