Have you ever wanted to build your own PVC Recurve bow? A friend of mine tried, it took him 7 hours with the help of 4 other friends (~30 man hours!??!?!) and he failed. I looked at his failed attempts and was confident I could do it in an hour. He allotted me 80 minutes, I accepted the challenge, I believe I accomplished the challenge, and he asked me not to disclose his identity. BWAHAHAHA!!!
Long story short, here's my bow!
Special thanks to Yuli, and Rong for the help getting some of the footage, it was fun.; annonymous bag man--for bringing comedic joy to the world; Sailor Moon B for your help and for the superb hand modeling; and of course thanks to everyone I bugged for input while I struggled to figure out how to put this video together. It's been real fun!

what knot did u use to fixate the paracord?
A very simple knot! …I actually don't know very many knots, nor the names of them 😅 Do you know of one that would be well suited?
I'm sorry to give a negative review, but not on the arc, but on the film shot very fast to the point of not understanding the procedure. Of course you had to do it in a minute but not in the film, and then the shadows not well lit did not make you understand the succession of the various passages. However, the arc made is beautiful and I think it works well !!!
Don't be sorry, be happy! Comments and suggestions is how I learn, grow, and improve! This was my first attempt, I've since made others, and I've tried to improve with each new process!

Would have liked to have known the poundage of finished bow.
ah! It ended up being around 30lbs for this one! Depending on exact draw length! pulls at about 32lbs for my 28in draw! Video of a 50lb bow coming soon!
So could the arms be made out of pvc and the handle out of a dowle?
Never thought about that before! it'd be a reaply quick way to change limb strengths / draw weight too!!!! I might have to start scheming now…

How long was the straight pipe ? About 2m?
Finished bow height was around 62 inches. 1.58m. The raw PVC sells in 10ft sections! 3M
This is not $4, you used power tools so you have to also count them in.

😱😱😱😱😱 Oops… 0.75 inch PVC schedule 40 electrical conduit. I think… I have used thinner ones for weaker bows or for smaller hands, and I've made larger ones for stronger hands also, they come in many different diameters! It's been a while since I made this bow, maybe I need to make more soon!!!! It should be something like this: www.homedepot.ca/product/carlon-schedule-40-grey-pvc-conduit-3-4-in-x-10-ft-/1000101188

always check rules and regulations of any competition before registering! I have had one tournament that specifically bans PVC material for handmade bows! :-D Each tournament and group/organization will have different rules!
