I live near that house and would say hi to Gary and his dog Bandit quite often. It's a tragedy that this could've happened. Being somewhere for around 50 years and one day it to be no longer habitable must be hard to comprehend. I wish nothing but the best for him, his mother, Bandit/pets, and the rest of the people involved in this amongst the 3 homes.

My dad appreciates it! The outpouring of love and concern has been really touching for everyone including Bandit. He's been shaking non stop since last night.

Did the house that started on fire have smoke detectors? Does anyone care anymore about raising public awareness about the importance of having working smoke detectors in your home? According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) you are 50% less likely to die in a fire if you have working smoke detectors in your home. Smoke inhalation is the No. 1 cause of death in a home fire.
