I’m serious about this: I think you might be the best educational table tennis content creator at the moment! The combination of your excellent knowledge and video making skills has thus far made all your videos 10/10 in my book. You are even better than the big boys imo, such as table tennis daily.
Wow thank you so much ! The video editing however is made by my Girlfriend 😁🏓 I really appreciate it so much. It motivates me a lot doing even more content 🙏🏼🏓🚀
Here's my story. I am an intermediate club player with some experience of winning local/university competitions. I also used to be an umpire in my younger years. I don't just play for fun, I try to learn and develop my technique, footwork etc. I have a robot and train with it regularly, implementing what I see and hear in videos. For some time, I thought of myself as an offensive player and used a carbon blade with Tenergy 80 on it. (Much earlier, I also tried some Stiga, 729, another Butterfly setup I don't even remember, all those were no good.) Tenergy 80 is a good rubber, however, I really struggled to handle the offensive setup properly, and my all-out attacking style was not too successful. So a coach I knew advised me to try all-round style, to keep the ball on the table longer and let the opponent make mistakes. This was a very good advice. Last year I bought an all-round blade, maybe not the best but quite OK for feeling and controlling: Donic Appelgren Exclusive AR. I put Donic Bluefire on it, with different hardness on two sides. It changed my game in a pleasant way, I started to understand many more things I didn't even know I missed. This year, I have followed a nearly random recommendation and put Andro Hexer Grip on both sides. Fantastic! This is by far the best rubber of my personal experience. It fits me perfectly for the moment, I continue to develop my game and play things I never thought I'd be able to play. I think of keeping this rubber for a longer time, but switch to some faster blade soon.
Wow ! This is insanely good. I like your story and this is exactly what I was talking about. Very pleasant to hear and congrats on your great journey 😊🏓👍
@@AndreasLevenkohi I have a quick question if you could advise, I’m intermediate/advanced currently using FZD ALC with h3neo prov bs 39 degrees and D05. I’m thinking of trying the prov bs 40, can u tell me other than the hardness what changes is there much difference? Is 40 faster than 39, how the the playing characteristics change? Also on bh how would d09C differ compared to D05? I have previously used D09C on fh before moving to h3neo but I never tried it on bh. Also considering trying H3 37 degrees on bh also but I don’t know if this would b slower than the dignics I have been using since they came out. Advise would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance
As an intermediate player. I really like the combination: Viscaria, FH H3 neo prov blue sponge 39°, BH d09c. It's very controllable and you can play fast too.
Thank Andreas! I have two blades the same. One for garage robot practice, and a fresher one for match and training. I use Tibhar Stratus Power wood, Dignics 09c on my backhand, if it wasn't so expensive I would have it on my forehand. I was using Tenergy 05 for some time but havent been able to find a rubber that fitted with a work in progress forehand. Ten 05 is quite unforgiving but liked it for blocks. I tried Tibhar K3 but didn't like the throw angle - and it was wearing extremely quickly. I'm possibly using boosted H3 now (1 thick layer of Falco/long) and I am enjoying it much more. The main thing I am having to adjust to is blocking - I believe because I have gone from a reactive rubber to one that you need to direct with your stroke. The only thing i dont like about the H3 setup is the possible need to boost it every 3months or so. Is there a cheaper Chinese style option (vs Dig 09c price) that is comparable without boosting?
Hey thank you for the question 😊 So basically when blocking with Hurricane it is important to send a little spin Impuls when blocking. Just imagine it like a micro topspin 👍 I really don’t know any other alternatives, but I am pretty sure boosting all three months is a necessary process that you need to go thru 😁🤲👍
Having someone this reputable making teaching videos is a blessing for the community🥹. Consider showing us how you serve and 3rd ball attack in game🤔? I sometimes don't know if a ball is attackable and how. (heights, long/short,...)
What did you use previously before DHS sponsorship? What equipment was the "right" one you mentioned when you left your ego behind? And finally what would you recommend for blade and rubber as generic advice for intermediate pkayers?
Before DHS I was signed to Butterfly and after Donic. Basically I wanted to play a fast racket like Viscaria to be like the Chinese Pros but at the end my Innerforce ALC was so much better for my control. It’s many many years ago. To recommend you a good setup I would need to know your playing style 😊👍
Hi Andreas! I use yasaka defense Blade, long pips Ox on backhand and gewo Elaxxon on forehand. I'm totally agree with you, for beginners a s mine , the most important thing Is to find THE CONTROL AND FEELING for game! Thanks 😢
Next video recommendation: how to counter all types of topspin and the distance to table in each counter pls. My friends can open up a really spiny and low ball, although it's really slow, it's hard for me to do anything about it besides blocking.
Thank you for your video Andreas, it's always a huge luck when you find a pro who shares his experience in equipment selection! My first question will be - we all know all these brands like DHS, Butterfly, Stiga etc. but have you ever tried any less known brands such as yinhe, sanwei or Loki? Maybe you had experience with such kind of equipment. Next I'd like to ask is - what the balance between using a suitable set up for years and testing new rubber or blade on every training session? What the time frame needed to understand - or this rubber is perfect or it sucks? Thank you in advance 🙂
Hey I appreciate thank you 😊 Sadly I have never tried the mentioned brands. However I heard that Yinhe can be worth a try. About the testing period for new equimpment I would definitely suggest at least 3-4 Trainings and after play one Match to really see how the equipment works 👍😁🏓
Hey great video last summer i switched from a defensive blade to more offensif blad and rubber from stiga but always great to learn about blades and rubbers
Hello Andreas, Servus! I am an intermediate level player with a controlled playing style. I also play in a local club. I still try to develop myself into an allrounder+ player. It is not an easy journey. One has to be very patient and resilient and I also try to train with a good coach. To be honest, I really like your channel. I have been trying a lot of rubbers like DHS Hurricane 3 Neo (commercial), Nittaku Hammond Z2, Xiom Omega VII Euro and Yasaka Rakza Z, to name a few. I feel that I will stick to Yasaka Rakza Z on my forehand. It is really a very good rubber and I like hybrid types of rubbers with some tackiness. You can play short-short with it nicely as well as the spin in the serves is amazing. I played a Stiga Infinity VPS blade but recently changed to Butterfly Petr Korbel Japan version. But at the back of my mind, I still like DHS Hurricane 3 (maybe I will try the blue sponge in the future). Perhaps you can give me some recommendations for my backhand. At the moment, I use short pimples rubber (Materialspezialist Spinfire or Butterfly Impartial XS) for more control. I am still open to a pimples-in controlled rubber for my backhand. Keep up your good work!
Hello my friend 😊 I actually never tried, but if you like to play a slow and patient game and be a classic defender, why not ? Table tennis is a game that should bring you fun, so try it out and see if you enjoy it 🙏🏼🏓🤝
H3 BS need more booster than orange sponge ? I usually play with orange sponge 40/41 degree and apply 1 layer of Seamoon. H3 BS Provincial after 1 layer with same hardness feel way more harder to me. Another question, there is much difference between h8-80 and H3 Neo 37 on backhand ? I tested h8-80 but it seemed too soft and mushy.
Blue Sponge definitely needs more booster 😊 you are righ. Yes there is a big difference. I prefer H3 Neo for backhand because it’s more control and power at same time.
I wish I’d seen this a year ago. Great content; I like your honesty. I use Yasaka Sweden extra with Gewo neoflex 45 but I find it too slow in mid distance exchanges and I can’t finish opponents off any advice on blades and rubber would be appreciated 😊
Tensor rubes have speed limit because of it's soft sponge. Some European rubber, like the DNA platinum xh or dragon grip are equipped with very hard sponge and just a little of built in tension so it's as linear as the hurricane. .Normally, Chinese players never use the dead sponge of the hurricane, they boost it , to add tension and soften the sponge for speed for close to the table technique.
Great timing I wanted to replace my 09C on fh its weird and inconsistent definitely not worth the price. I’m interested dh3 national blue what do like more on forehand 2.1 ,2.15 or 2.2 ?
hello. thanks a lot for the view. now I am playing with Viscaria and Tenergy 05 on both sides. Blade is a little bit fast for me, and I want to buy carbon blade after two plies. Now I am thinking to try Harimoto ALC or Innerforce Layer ZLC. Please give your feedback. Thanks.
Great video, thank you! I’m using DHS Hurricane 3 Neo Provincial Blue Sponge 40 degrees on my forehand and tenergy 05 on my backhand, with an ovtcharov blade. What would be the difference if I change to the DHS Ma Long V? I play an attacking style based mainly on my forehand (also use backhand, of course), close or medium distance from the table
Have used ESN rubbers all the time and now I switched to Razka Z (Extra hard on FH, normal BH, Max both) rubbers. Those are more grippy than "normal" ESN rubbers. I've only got two exercise with those new rubbes at. What I've now found out those rubbers are quite bouncy(?). I've now difficulties to control the ball because higher arc. What improvements I need to take or give some hints to get used to those faster rubbers?
Hi, i have a cybershape carbon, Truls edition, i use Tenergy 05 in FH and Tihbar genius on backhand, i have a bit more than a year training and i don't know if my racket could be holding me back, i train 2 hours at day, 5 times at week, i Think i'm between amateur and intermideate level, do You think my equipment could be better, should be slower? I really don't know. And my coach says she doesnt like DHS because you need a different style and is harder for "normal" players, (not as good as chinese or pros), what's your opinion on a "decent" players using DHS?
Hey I think your material is pretty good and I like your regular training basis 😊👍 Keep on improving, maybe you can change to DHS in one or two years 💪🏓
I have the nittaku accoustic with Fastarc G1 on Forehand and Donic Acuda S2 on my Backhand. I feel like the Donic rubber has a lower throw angle, meaning you have to open your racket more to get the ball on the table. I tried G1 on Backhand and the throw angle was way higher. I could always brush over the ball and the balle went over the net. Could you recommend backhand rubbers softer, but similar to G1 Fastarc?
Why not Fastarc on backhand too ? 😊 I think it could work out well. An industry standard for backhand right now is Dignics 09c or the newest Tibhar and Donic Rubbers 😊🏓
What do you think is the ideal weight of a racket / what usually is the wieght of pros equipement and ofc whats the weight of your setup ! , thank you in advance !
Hey 😊 I would definitely say that I prefer a blade of 85grams because Chinese rubbers a bit heavier. Less weight is often a little slower as blade which means more control if less weight. However if you play European rubbers or Butterfly you can have a blade that’s 90-92grams too. 93-95 is a little too heavy for me and can have negative effects on shoulder for example 😊👍👍
Thank You Andreas!❤ my question: I was using Rozena(45°ESN,36°JP) on a BTY ALC.S, than I stopped for 4 years and when I got back the racket was too fast, so I replaced the Rozena with two soft rubbers RasanterR42(42°ESN)FH and Vega Euro(42°ESN)BH, both max thickness, now I found that they are much less precise in placement than my previous Rozena... which you think is the main culprit? I shouldn't have mounted two soft rubbers on an Ayrlate/Carbon blade? or I shouldn't have bought soft rubbers in max thickness?
@@GaetanoCrisci I am not an expert and I haven't used either of them but: sponge hardness alone is not deciding the speed. It has influence on it, such that a harder rubber from the same model ist faster. But I think Rasanter is competing directly with the Tenergy Series, so I would expect it to be generally faster than Rosena.
@@mihai8555 sure, and revspin user reviews also rate Rozena speed 8.7 and Rasanter R42 9, I will compare them again, maybe I'm wrong... but pushing Rozena it became powerful for what I remember, I'm now using R42 in the meanwhile
I think it’s really good to have a little harder rubbers on ALC blades to have more feeling in your hand thru the handle 😊 go a little harder with your rubbers and you will see more control. Tenergy 05 or Hurricane Neo 3 39 degree. Thank you so much for watching my videos 😊😊👍
I'm an intermediate player looking to up my game. I'm currently using a Recreational Racket which is stiga magic. And now i bought a proper setup and beginner friendly which is Galaxy Uranus 2 blade with DHS NEO Hurricane 3 on the forehand and Palio HK1997 Biotech on the backhand. What do you think of it as the first setup to build my technics and stroke
What do you think about Nittaku rubbers and Blades? Like Nittaku Acustic Blade and Nittaku Sieger rubbers. Are they any good? Did you ever see anyone use them?
I know that Nittaku Blades can be very good. But about the rubbers I really don’t have any real experience. I also don’t know anyone that has tried them. 👍🏓
Is your blade varnished? It looks quite shiny. Did it change the feeling? Also, at the bottom of the blade, has the plastic pic of Ma Long always been that much inside? I’ve never seen a W968 like that. The bottom is normally flat
Hey its a Little varnished, yes 👍 It wohnt change the feeling but it’s not necessary to do it 😊 It’s always flat but after a long time of use it can go inside a little bit if you push it. That’s what happened to me haha
Hi, thanks for the video, does the blade lose its quality during the time, I play with the same blade 5ply wood for 4 years its become dented in several places does its effects the sweet spot ? or how you call it )))
Hi Andreas! I have Harimoto super alc and Tenergy 05 on both sides. This rubber has been around for many years now and i still like it very much. Have you tried T05 and what do you think? Great channel i like a lot man
Thank you 😊👍 T05 is a very good industry standard. However butterfly developed Dignics 09c which is also very used amongst the pros now. Your setup is great for sure ! 👍👍
Great vid!! You talked about viscaria and your dhs blade, sounds like they are similar I would like to understand more if there's a difference? I've been using the fzd alc for 2 years which is like viscaria so wondering if there's a point in trying the dhs version
Hey Andreas! I just recently started playing with chinese rubbers again. Im currently playing the Hurricane 3 National OS (40 degrees, 2.2). I've had the Hurricane 3 Neo BS before. How would you say these two rubbers play differently? (In the neo vs regular department as well as blue sponge vs orange sponge) I personally feel like the orange sponge bottoms out quicker than the blue sponge but in terms of spin they are very similar?
Hey😊 My personal experience is that blue sponge is a little bit more hard and you can create more force with it and have bigger arcs. With the orange sponge however you have more stability and more control in terms of placement and spin 💪🏓 That’s what DHS told me 😊🙏🏼🏓
Hi! Playing with donic skachkov carbon with t19 as forehand and t05fx as for backhand for over 1 year. Want to switch to butterfly ovcharov alc innerforce and thinking about putting t05 and t19. Will the blade bring my gameplay to more spinny shots or the blade will be about control shots? I never tested it out.
I long played the normal Harimoto ALC and now switched up to the Super ALC one and one of my Club members (better than me) says it would be too fast more and I should learn better technique first. I personally would say the blade suits me better than the normal ALC one, because I kinda need the extra power to get my fast and powerful strokes, but also to improve my technique, because I think that the unforgiving type forces me to play correct technique. What do you think about it? Is it just my opinion or does it make sense?
Hello my friend 😊 I think it depends, I would honestly recommend the little bit slower blade in order to improve technique. Once your technique is on point imagine having strong force and technique. You will be on another level. But a too fast blade can block you at developing technique 👍😁
@@AndreasLevenko Thanks for the fast answer!😄 I personally feel like I improved more with this blade and my trainer said so too, because now my Attacks are dangerous enough to take real advantage of them, what I was lacking with the old one. I know it shouldnt require a faster blade for it normally, but I feel like it is, what I needed and I am consistent enough to play it, but I am not sure if it was the correct way, because of the aspects you have mentioned. And I think the difference between me and the player mentioned before is that I play with spin and very fast and he goes for much spin but less speed and in this aspect I understand him too.
Already subscribed 😉 my new year resolution for 2025 is not to change equipment 😅 I just need to focus on actually improving my technique and gameplay more. Current setup: Harimoto ALC FH xiom Jekyll and Hyde v47.5 BH andro rasantar r42
simple answer: it's max. It means, if you know how many layer of booster you use, you have to choose the right sponge thinkness. If not, you go the risk that the rubber is to thick. Not important for non professional players where rubbers will never be checked by an official referee
My level: İntermediate, FH Spin: good BH spin: still training Loop and Drive: Still training, Serve return: Bad bad bad Current Setup: Butterfly TimoBall ALC with Tenergy 05 Rubbers both FH + BH question: it is too fast and uncontrollable and no feeling regards my old all wood setup desire: more controllable setup with feeling. what do you suggest? Thank you in advance
First of all congrats for the great analysis and that you’re being honest with your game 👍😊💪 I would recommend : Korbel SK7 Tenergy 64 or 05fx for Backhand And Dignics 09c for Forehand. But there are many good setups from Butterfly 😊👍
i play with schlager carbon with victas v15 extra on FH and xiom omega vii pro on BH should i put hurricane 3 on the FH side and try it out or stick with my setup? how to use booster on hurricane 3 neo and on regular hurricane 3? thank you so much love your videos
Hey, thank you 😁 Wooow what a fast blade ! That one is really cool. You can definitely try a Hurricane H3 Neo on forehand. When you open the rubber put a thin layer of booster on the glue that already comes with the racket. Let it dry for 24 hours. Apply 4 Layers of DHS Glue and let it dry. Put one layer of booster on the glue and let it dry for 24 hours. After that put one layer of DHS glue on your Blade and stick your rubber onto it. And then…Enjoy 🤙😁🚀
@@AndreasLevenko only one layer of booster on the rubber? isn't it too stiff i saw videos they recommend 2-3 layers of booster. and do i put 4 layers one by one and let it dry?
Hello. Great video, congratulations on such a high level. :) I have a question. What blade would you recommend for the all + or off- range. I play at the 5th level in the German league, my style of play is offensive with the backhand and forehand. I think I should buy the same rubbers as you have, only not as hard. Thanks in advance for your answer. I wish you all the best.
I think a good blade would be any Butterfly Carbon OFF- Blade or the Fang Bo DHS blade which is pretty ALL+ too. I would also recommend to use a softer version of mine as mentioned in the video 😊👍🏓
thanks for your video. Just a little point... you compared chinese versus european rubbers and took DHS and Butterfly as examples. Butterfly rubbers are japanese though, so if we want to mince words then this would not be correct. I get your point though. The "tensor" style rubbers and Butterfly rubbers are similar and can be grouped into one category more easily than sticky chinese rubbers
I started playing recently (1 year ago) and I play with my racket for around like 6 or 7 months and I think I have more potential with better racket. Should I switch my racket and if I do what rubbers and blade should I buy (I also wouldn't like to spend a lot of money on it).
I am an intermediate player, i would say. I got the technique mostly, i just don't have the same consistency always with my foot work and topspins, mostly i find it hard to Topspin underspin balls. Do you firstly have any tips for that and secondly: i am using DHS Hurricane 301 and Hurricane 3 Neo blue sponge provincial on forehand, on backhand i am using tibhar mx-p, i mostly struggel with putting the ball on the table when i am playing backhand topspin on underspin would you recommend using also dhs rubber for backhand. And there is an old guy in my club(he mostly just wants to sell his rackets) but he always says, that my racket is to fast for me and i can't recive with such a fast racket, do you recommend going slower? Maybe you could make a video on reciving, judging the spin and choosing the right shot?
Hey 😊 First of all I would recommend that you watch my footwork video in order to boost your footwork. Secondly it is possible that your racket is too fast for backhand, but not for forehand. Maybe in this scenario I would think that is is technical issue and not equipment issue. I will do a video on that specific topic 🫡🏓
@@AndreasLevenko Thank you very much, do you think Hurricane is a good backhand rubber for me or anyone, a lot of players are using european rubber nowdays?
You said the hurricane Neo sticky rubber is not the same as hybrids, but aren’t hurricane Neo 3 not sticky anymore? They’re more grippy now. Do you think the performance has changed from the sticky hurricane Neo to the less sticky version?
Hallo Andreas!
Hi, do you use booster? If u use, how many layers? Because, in my opinion, its too tought in fisrt 2 weeks and without booster quality of shots is not high as with it
@@AndreasLevenko 4 month ago I played DHS hurricane 3 national (and my question about this rubber). But now I play dignics 09c, because I recently sprained my arm and I decided to play with something simpler, than DHS.
I need advice on that setup: HL5 + FH:H3 National Blue Sponge + BH:Dignics 09C. Does it work well? Or H3 National Orange Sponge is better than dignics 09C on BH?
Andreas, I have a problem while boosting my H3 rubbers: after few days they are peeling of from sides. I tried to put really big amount of glue: 3 layers on rubber + 2 layers on wood, and after gluing give the racket a rest under a press of few kilos. Still doesn’t work, so I need to re-glue rubbers again. This is so annoying. How do you deal with it? PS: your channel is awesome 🎉
obviously it means the rubber was not ready to be glued yet as the curl did not subside enough, you probably also boosted with 3 layers when probably 2 are enough
Thank you very much. Ok you really need to give it more time to dry. Probably your rubber was way tooo bend. Give it at least 24 hours to dry and don’t put too much oil. Less is more. Trust me. Make 2-3 layers but with less amount of oil. 😊👍
I love or like this video very much because i am a big fan of DHS, i have their equipment, i asked you in the other video before i am watching this, so now i know what is your equipment, i don't have much questions, i am not a good player but i like this sports and almost have some knowledge, but i like to learn more, so i tried only commercial H3 NEO 38 deg on my backhand and i didn't like the rubber boosted or non boosted, so what will the Provincial or National same rubber will be on BH? I like softer European or Japanese more, so i want to know if you tested the commercial vs. national on BH. Also another question, the version of Ma Long 5 W968 are also different by letters or numbers, did you test some of them and find the difference? I had once that W968 of certain number but i sold it to one friend who wanted it very much at great price, i might buy it again later, i want to be sure about it, i only have Ma Long 5X and recently bought Ma Long 5 Golden slam version, all of them with H3 NEO 40 deg National boosted and different BH rubbers.
Can u recommend a equipment for a player who plays with inverted rubber on forhand, long pips on backhand and play close to the table? My playing style is based on create disruptive shots on backhand and attack with strong forhand. I am also a a forhand dominante player. One last information that can be important is my level. I am one of best 35+ years old in Brazil and have won marches against players from nation team U21 this year. Thanks for u help and information 😁🏓
I am an intermediary player My current setup is: Donic coppa Jo gold (forehand) Donic sonex jp( backhand) Donic appel gren I chose this setup to improve my techniques It's a very balanced setup I am slowly getting better and better But I'm still stuck at improving my forehand topspin I was thinking when I get to the advanced level Is Tibhar supreme genius ( forehand) Tibhar mxp( backhand) Tibhar status power wood carbon ( blade ) A good combination? And great video as usual man
I have tried alot and i mean alot of different rubbers and blades, and everyone is different but i cant understand why anyone would recommend the status power wood carbon. My recommendation is Tibhar Samsonov Force Pro Black Edition is amazing for the power and ease of use. Its not the fastest of them all but plenty fast. Ofc you can allways choose MK CARBON, Not that is to fast but the mk is super hard be sure that you have a great technique for opening against backspin otherwise you will hit alot of net.
@apanzerze6092 well I don't have that great purchasing power And it's cheap here from the shop I buy The owner said It to be great for attacking and sometimes lobbing or defensive but this blade Is not for only for offensive style. So I asked for this blade He said he had Samsonov stratus carbon or tibhar carbon shot for only offensive style but I thought power wood would be more safe for me
@@bluetang6715 Well, as said, everyone is different, and since I haven't seen you play, you know better than I do what style you have and so on. The shop owner is completely right: The status carbon is a difficult blade. And for the money, I believe there are much better blades out there. But I would still recommend the Tibhar Samsonov Force Pro Black Edition over the stratus wood. I feel that the stratus wood has less control and power how they managed to manufacture that is beyond my knowledge. I could only wish you the best, good luck on your blade hunting. If you have more equipment questions dont be afraid to ask since I have probably tried them. =)
Great video as always! I am currently playing with the Lin yun ju super zlc, tenergy05 FH and dignics 80 backhand roughly 2000 rated. I quite like the tenergy for looping further from the table and countering. However against backspin I seem to lack the power. I spin up the ball slowly and controlled but when I try to “Chinese hit a backspin ball” I just loose control. I used d09c before and it was much better. However required much more effort away from the away and every shot has to be in the right place whereas t05 allows me to be slightly out of position and still play. Hence my question to you is, for someone trying to improve should I stick with t05 or go back to d09c? And also should I try t05 hard as an intermediate ? Do harder rubbers really allow me to hit harder against backspin?
Are there really national version of DHS rubbers? If yes, are these available commercially? Cause lots in the market that claimed to be national or even provincial are fake.
Richtig geniales Video wieder, danke Andreas!
Thanks Andreas ! You said long 5 would be a good alternative to the professional w968 you are using. A lot of guys who played with both said that there are clearly not the same blade, what the huge difference in price seems to confirm as well. I just don't understand why w968's price is 4x higher than commercial one, making it unreachable for almost all of us 😅😪
The quality is night and day, I’ve got golden hurricane long 5 and player edition no 2 gold grand slam w968, the w968 materials used and finish are much much superior quality
Sadly that is a difficult question, that I can only hardly answer. I think the W968 is just a very very highly advanced blade. The DHS team invested a lot of money and time into blade development. There is a whole team that does insane amount of blade research to provide this certain blade. Hope I could somehow answer this question 🙏🏼🙏🏼🚀🏓
Say the Long 5 has 20 “gears”. “Gears” meaning accessible levels of speed (slowest, slower, medium, fast, faster, fastest etc). The W968 has 100 in comparison. Numbers are used as an example, not an exact measure.
You mentioned that boosting is illegal. Let's be honest, do you boost your rubbers or using some kinda secret legal substances that gives you the boosting effect. I find it hard to believe that hurricane can be played unboosted or can it ?
What is your opinion on the new batches (less tacky) of Hurricane NEO III markets are getting? Everybody in forums is saying that hurricanes 3 are not than tacky as they used to be. I don't know how it is for someone who is sponsored by DHS, by its true that normal markets are getting NEOs less stickier than how they used to be. PD: I had 2 provincial BS 3 neo 41 and both are not that sticky.
You are right the NEO’s are less sticky than they used to be. They are made less sticky in order to adapt better to the new plastic ball 😊👍🏓 It’s something positive I would say 👍
Hi, I'm from Malaysia, I play short pimple on the forehand and butterfly Rozena on the backhand, can I know which table tennis blade is suitable for pimple? Thank you, I'm waiting for a reply from a friend.

Hi Andreas, I have changed my equipment a lot, I would say I am intermediate level player, but You can make Your own assessment checking one of my videos. I really like w968, but for my weak physic it is too heavy (92g and very head heavy), so I am not able to use it, even after playing 5-10min on the robot I don't have the strength anymore. Other blades I like are Butterfly Spark (but the handle is way too slim and blade is maybe a little too slow), innerforce zlf (also handle too small), Reccently I tested old victas firefall fc and really liekd it for my bh, but it felt too stiff for fh. Rubbers: I play mostly dignics 05, but I am thinking about trying hybrid k3 fx. I really like tibhar mk and mk fx, but recently I was told that mk fx might be too soft for my bh. In old ball era I really liked soft rubbers, but currently I feel like the catapult is too big and I lose the control, on the other hand my bh timing is really poor, so I am not confident enough to use something like dignics on my bh. What would You recommend for control-spin oriented player of my level ? I am quite ok with chop blocks, strawberry and "weird" bh shots and usually finish points with my fh
So habt ihr beides was davon langfristig 😊👍 Viel Glück 🏓💪
Was wären so deine Tipps, woran ich gerade arbeiten soll?
What kind of rubber would you recommend for backhand punching i have always played soft rubber on backhand but i feel that the soft rubber lacks consistency in the backhand punching close to the table. I just came back to table tennis have not played in 14 years but in my younger years i was a top player in my country and now there are so much new rubbers and stuff. In only looking to change backhand rubbers
@@AndreasLevenko I returned to short pips on my backhand after 5 years of training with tacky rubber...after 3 weeks and about 60 hrs. I am returning to the top position in our club the change has awakened my forehand like it was when I was a kid.
I’m serious about this: I think you might be the best educational table tennis content creator at the moment! The combination of your excellent knowledge and video making skills has thus far made all your videos 10/10 in my book.
You are even better than the big boys imo, such as table tennis daily.

Wow thank you so much ! The video editing however is made by my Girlfriend 😁🏓
I really appreciate it so much.
It motivates me a lot doing even more content 🙏🏼🏓🚀
I hope you always create video like this. i like that 10/10
Here's my story.
What you think about difference techniques on this rubbers ? @@AndreasLevenko

Thank you so much, I really appreciate 😁🚀
Which boosters do you use and how many layers do you apply to the forehand and backhand rubbers? How often do you re-boost?
I know players that use two layers of Haifu booster 😊😊
what Chinese tacky type rubber would you suggest, which you don't need to boost?
Having someone this reputable making teaching videos is a blessing for the community🥹. Consider showing us how you serve and 3rd ball attack in game🤔? I sometimes don't know if a ball is attackable and how. (heights, long/short,...)
Thank you so much and yes I will do ! Great idea thank you 🏓😁🚀

@@AndreasLevenko Which Innerforce alc did you use and which rubbers?
Hi Andreas! I use yasaka defense Blade, long pips Ox on backhand and gewo Elaxxon on forehand. I'm totally agree with you, for beginners a s mine , the most important thing Is to find THE CONTROL AND FEELING for game! Thanks 😢
Yes exactly ! 👍👍🤝🏓

Hey I appreciate thank you 😊
Sadly I have never tried the mentioned brands.

Thank you very much 👍👍
Hello Andreas, Servus!
Have you ever tried playing with pips? Under what circumstances would you recommend for someone to try pips?
@@AndreasLevenko Thanks !
I wish I’d seen this a year ago. Great content; I like your honesty. I use Yasaka Sweden extra with Gewo neoflex 45 but I find it too slow in mid distance exchanges and I can’t finish opponents off any advice on blades and rubber would be appreciated 😊
Hey thank you so much 👍
Maybe try a faster wood but stay with same rubbers.
A butterfly inner force could be good 😁
Tensor rubes have speed limit because of it's soft sponge.
👍👍👍
Great timing I wanted to replace my 09C on fh its weird and inconsistent definitely not worth the price. I’m interested dh3 national blue what do like more on forehand 2.1 ,2.15 or 2.2 ?
Hey, very good idea 😁👍👍
Definitely 2.1 or 2.15 🏓🚀
you will find the chinese rubber even weirder if you find 09c weird to begin with
hello.
thanks a lot for the view.
now I am playing with Viscaria and Tenergy 05 on both sides.
Blade is a little bit fast for me, and I want to buy carbon blade after two plies. Now I am thinking to try Harimoto ALC or Innerforce Layer ZLC.
Please give your feedback. Thanks.
ZLC is quite fast…Have you tried Freitas ALC ? That could be a very good alternative for better control 😁🏓
Blade is not problem, try slower rubber on faster blades. Try glayzer 09c
The Blade would be faster, but your setup is perfectly good.
I wouldn’t change.
Instead bring my level up and one day treat yourself with a W968 😁👍
What rubbers would you recommend for blocking style with 2 inverted rubbers? The blade is Butterfly Viscaria.
Tenergy 05 without booster 😊👍

Have used ESN rubbers all the time and now I switched to Razka Z (Extra hard on FH, normal BH, Max both) rubbers. Those are more grippy than "normal" ESN rubbers. I've only got two exercise with those new rubbes at. What I've now found out those rubbers are quite bouncy(?). I've now difficulties to control the ball because higher arc. What improvements I need to take or give some hints to get used to those faster rubbers?
Hey 😊 Coop Choice ! Definitely just practice consistently and your feeling will develop.
Make a few more trainings and you will get used to it 😊👍
Hi, i have a cybershape carbon, Truls edition, i use Tenergy 05 in FH and Tihbar genius on backhand, i have a bit more than a year training and i don't know if my racket could be holding me back, i train 2 hours at day, 5 times at week, i Think i'm between amateur and intermideate level, do You think my equipment could be better, should be slower? I really don't know. And my coach says she doesnt like DHS because you need a different style and is harder for "normal" players, (not as good as chinese or pros), what's your opinion on a "decent" players using DHS?
Hey I think your material is pretty good and I like your regular training basis 😊👍
Keep on improving, maybe you can change to DHS in one or two years 💪🏓
is 2.2mm sponge recommended for backhand? what is the advantage 2.2mm sponge?
Yes sure but I would prefer 2.1 😊
More sponge = More High arc trajectory
What impact does the glue have on the setup?
Makes rubber more flexible and feel thicker so it gives higher arc 😊👍
I have the nittaku accoustic with Fastarc G1 on Forehand and Donic Acuda S2 on my Backhand. I feel like the Donic rubber has a lower throw angle, meaning you have to open your racket more to get the ball on the table. I tried G1 on Backhand and the throw angle was way higher. I could always brush over the ball and the balle went over the net. Could you recommend backhand rubbers softer, but similar to G1 Fastarc?
Why not Fastarc on backhand too ? 😊
I think it could work out well.
An industry standard for backhand right now is Dignics 09c or the newest Tibhar and Donic Rubbers 😊🏓
Is it true that Ma Long 5 is a sensitive blade when the rubbers are removed?
Please video about it, and how to glue( and boost) rubbers on blade
Hey 😊 no not at all. You can easily remove rubbers without any problems.
Yes will do a video on that 😁🏓
Thanks a lot. The best channel!@@AndreasLevenko
I am buying
Blade : Viscaria
FH : Hurricane 3 provincial blue sponge 39° (black)
BH : Tibhar MX-P (red)
Is this a good combination?
Very cheap
Yes very very very good 🚀🚀🏓
Thank You Andreas!❤ my question: I was using Rozena(45°ESN,36°JP) on a BTY ALC.S, than I stopped for 4 years and when I got back the racket was too fast, so I replaced the Rozena with two soft rubbers RasanterR42(42°ESN)FH and Vega Euro(42°ESN)BH, both max thickness, now I found that they are much less precise in placement than my previous Rozena... which you think is the main culprit? I shouldn't have mounted two soft rubbers on an Ayrlate/Carbon blade? or I shouldn't have bought soft rubbers in max thickness?
Rozena faster than Rasanter ??(even the 42 should be faster than Rozena...)
@mihai8555 Rozena is 36°JP=45/46°ESN, Rasanter R42 is 42°ESN, shouldn't Rozena be faster and more precise cause the sponge is harder?

Yes I use Golden W968

It’s always flat but after a long time of use it can go inside a little bit if you push it.

Hey Andreas!
I just recently started playing with chinese rubbers again. Im currently playing the Hurricane 3 National OS (40 degrees, 2.2). I've had the Hurricane 3 Neo BS before. How would you say these two rubbers play differently? (In the neo vs regular department as well as blue sponge vs orange sponge)
I personally feel like the orange sponge bottoms out quicker than the blue sponge but in terms of spin they are very similar?
Hey😊
My personal experience is that blue sponge is a little bit more hard and you can create more force with it and have bigger arcs.
With the orange sponge however you have more stability and more control in terms of placement and spin 💪🏓
That’s what DHS told me 😊🙏🏼🏓

I actually think both 😁👍👍
I long played the normal Harimoto ALC and now switched up to the Super ALC one and one of my Club members (better than me) says it would be too fast more and I should learn better technique first.

Many thanks for your kindly share! May i know whats the thickness of the both h3 rubber? Is 2.1 or 2.15mm? Thanks again!😊
simple answer: it's max. It means, if you know how many layer of booster you use, you have to choose the right sponge thinkness. If not, you go the risk that the rubber is to thick. Not important for non professional players where rubbers will never be checked by an official referee

First of all congrats for the great analysis and that you’re being honest with your game 👍😊💪
I would recommend :
Korbel SK7
Tenergy 64 or 05fx for Backhand
And Dignics 09c for Forehand.
But there are many good setups from Butterfly 😊👍
i play with schlager carbon with victas v15 extra on FH and xiom omega vii pro on BH
should i put hurricane 3 on the FH side and try it out or stick with my setup?
how to use booster on hurricane 3 neo and on regular hurricane 3?
thank you so much love your videos
Hey, thank you 😁
Wooow what a fast blade !
Sorry you’re right, we players tend to always say European rubbers or Chinese rubbers because they are similar.
Will change in future 😊👍
What you think about the true carbon blade of donic (not the ovchatrov one, the regular)
I think it should be a Good Wood for sure.
But I am more familiar with the Ovtcharov wood 👍👍
I started playing recently (1 year ago) and I play with my racket for around like 6 or 7 months and I think I have more potential with better racket. Should I switch my racket and if I do what rubbers and blade should I buy (I also wouldn't like to spend a lot of money on it).
Hey very good idea - let me know what your budget is and I will build a racket for setup for you in the comments 😊
My budget is from 50-100 euros
have you tried hurricane 3? if so, do you like it?
Yes it’s also a great rubber even tho I use H3 Neo 🫡
Hey 😊
First of all I would recommend that you watch my footwork video in order to boost your footwork.
Hey 😊 It’s not hybrid, but less sticky.
Way more sticky than Hybrid but not as sticky as Hurricane 3 🏓😁
Hallo Andreas!
Hi, do you use booster? If u use, how many layers? Because, in my opinion, its too tought in fisrt 2 weeks and without booster quality of shots is not high as with it
I need to know what rubbers you play to recommend you how many layers of booster 👍😁🏓
@@AndreasLevenko 4 month ago I played DHS hurricane 3 national (and my question about this rubber). But now I play dignics 09c, because I recently sprained my arm and I decided to play with something simpler, than DHS.
Super !!!👍
Danke 💪🏼
What do you think about the Stiga Cybershape Carbon blade?
Surely a very good blade to try if you like its shape 😁👍
@ thanks🙌🏼
Great video! Do you think the Felix Lebrun Off- would be a good blade for building a solid offensive style (I'm a Cpen player)?
Yes for sure ! Good choice 😊
@@AndreasLevenko thanks!
I need advice on that setup: HL5 + FH:H3 National Blue Sponge + BH:Dignics 09C. Does it work well? Or H3 National Orange Sponge is better than dignics 09C on BH?
Can you recommend a DHS Blade, that is slightly faster than The Butterfly primorac Off-?
I would say the Fang Bo blade could be a good option but also maybe a little faster one would be the Hurricane Sun
@ thank you!
Can you recommend a Beginner 5-ply and Intermediate progression blade from DHS?
The DHS speed scale is very confusing.
Best starting blade from DHS is the Fang Bo racket in my opinion 😊👍🏓
@@AndreasLevenko and which two rubbers with the fang bo or hl5 ?
Can u recommend a equipment for a player who plays with inverted rubber on forhand, long pips on backhand and play close to the table?
My playing style is based on create disruptive shots on backhand and attack with strong forhand. I am also a a forhand dominante player.
One last information that can be important is my level. I am one of best 35+ years old in Brazil and have won marches against players from nation team U21 this year.
Thanks for u help and information 😁🏓
Definitely Joo See Hyuk Blade is great for that 😁👍👍👍
@@AndreasLevenko thank you very much.
Do u think this concept can be applied for medium pips and shorts pips?
I am an intermediary player
My current setup is:
Donic coppa Jo gold (forehand)
Donic sonex jp( backhand)
Donic appel gren
I chose this setup to improve my techniques
It's a very balanced setup
I am slowly getting better and better
But I'm still stuck at improving my forehand topspin
I was thinking when I get to the advanced level
Is
Tibhar supreme genius ( forehand)
Tibhar mxp( backhand)
Tibhar status power wood carbon ( blade )
A good combination?
And great video as usual man
I have tried alot and i mean alot of different rubbers and blades, and everyone is different but i cant understand why anyone would recommend the status power wood carbon. My recommendation is Tibhar Samsonov Force Pro Black Edition is amazing for the power and ease of use. Its not the fastest of them all but plenty fast. Ofc you can allways choose MK CARBON, Not that is to fast but the mk is super hard be sure that you have a great technique for opening against backspin otherwise you will hit alot of net.
@apanzerze6092 well
I don't have that great purchasing power
And it's cheap here from the shop I buy
The owner said
It to be great for attacking and sometimes lobbing or defensive but this blade Is not for only for offensive style.
So I asked for this blade
He said he had Samsonov stratus carbon or tibhar carbon shot for only offensive style but I thought power wood would be more safe for me
I must honestly say that I don’t have enough experience with this setup…
But I know that your current setup is perfect to start and build 😁👍👍
@apanzerze6092 then should I ask u here or do you have Instagram? I will ask you there then?
Hi, great videos there a particular link for an online website that you could share? I hear there are a lot of fake DHS products
Yes sure :)
Table Tennis 11 is the best shop that has the original DHS National rubbers and all DHS rubbers 🫡🏓
Yes it is really true ! Only order from Table Tennis 11
They have the original ones directly from DHS Shanghai. 😊👍 you got my word
@@CharlesMorris-ur8is What about the provincial w968 (letter) ?
you can pick a reputable clone to W968 Eg Hina hayatas blade or the yinhe blade made for north korean national team
Andreas, please compare ( speed , control, spin) :
Harimoto ALC - DHS Long 5
great video! but lets address the elefant in the room, what about boosting? i would love to know your procedure , thx
Hahah, who said that I am boosting ? 😄
@@AndreasLevenko just assuming, not acusing anyone xd
You mentioned that boosting is illegal. Let's be honest, do you boost your rubbers or using some kinda secret legal substances that gives you the boosting effect. I find it hard to believe that hurricane can be played unboosted or can it ?
I recommend boosting your hurricane with Haiti yellow booster for at least 2 times 😊👍
@@AndreasLevenkowhy yellow booster? Isn’t white or Black better for most people?

What is your opinion on the new batches (less tacky) of Hurricane NEO III markets are getting? Everybody in forums is saying that hurricanes 3 are not than tacky as they used to be. I don't know how it is for someone who is sponsored by DHS, by its true that normal markets are getting NEOs less stickier than how they used to be.
PD: I had 2 provincial BS 3 neo 41 and both are not that sticky.
You are right the NEO’s are less sticky than they used to be.
They are made less sticky in order to adapt better to the new plastic ball 😊👍🏓
It’s something positive I would say 👍

Tolles Video!

Servus Andreas!,

H3 Blue Sponge National Neo 41 2.1mm
So habt ihr beides was davon langfristig 😊👍
Was wären so deine Tipps, woran ich gerade arbeiten soll? Bin sehr motiviert.
