Do you think an SCX24 would be a good starter RC for my 5.5 year old daughter? I have a traxxas vxl 4x4 slash and losi mini-T 2.0 and I'd like something that she could handle speed wise. She would likely just be driving it around the yard while I drive my other cars, but I like how much customization the SCX24 line has. I'd probably paint her a pink car. I like the idea of a crawler for her though because the speed is much slower and she'll likely end up off road or on rough terrain and of course it would be able to handle a lot of that.
Sorry if I interfere. So in terms of speed, the car is definitely not overwhelming. But in the small cars the engine is often a bit weak. I don't know how it works with the small ones from Axial, but it is the case with the small, cheap cars. But better a small axial than a 1/10 buggy that really goes off and the child drives around with it unsupervised. Stuck in a traffic jam because the police had to record an accident where a little boy drove into a real car with his RC car ON THE ROAD. I would tend to prefer a DF4 or Reely Freemen for outdoors. They don't get stuck on every stone because they're bigger and they aren't that fast either. I just wanted to stimulate thought. The main thing is that the car does not overwhelm your child and that it is fun! You can let me know and show what you have decided on. If parents are already worrying about this, it will probably go well, because those who do think about it act responsibly! 👍
@@Wurstkommission thanks for the recs! I'll look into those and as long as they have decent bodies that are available they might work too. I was interested in this because of how customizable it is and the availability of parts (bodies specifically to be able to paint one pink). I also know that I could just change the endpoint to the throttles on other cars on my transmitters but I also would like her to have something that is all her own. I'll look into those other cars and let you know what I think! Thanks!
A beautiful car and a great adventure for such a little one.
