some clarification on APDS: there are 3 gens of APDS, tho in reality more like 2.5. gen 1 are carbide APDS. they have high flat pen but bad angle pen and shatter on spaced armor very often. gen 2 are carbide core with thungsten alloy cap. they have less flat pen than gen 1 and more angle pen, and almost never shatter gen 3 are alloy APDS. they have somewhat bad flat pen, but have very good angle pen, rivaling some APFSDS even. they dont shatter. gen 1 APDS: swedish 37 (3.7cm slpprj m/49), 57 (slpprj m/49), 75mm APDS (7.5cm slpprj m/49) UK: 76mm (Shot SV Mk 1), 83mm (Shot Mk 3), 120mm (only the Conq) (Shot L1G) USA: 76mm (M331A2), 105mm only the T54E1 and E2 (T279) chinese 100mm APDS (Type 59 APDS) gen 2 APDS: every 105mm L7 gun APDS with ~350mm pen (a bit more on the Strv 103 due to longer barrel): Shot L28A1, M392A2, slpprj m/61 however, the 105mm L7 APDS acts more like a gen 3 APDS, or rather it could be called something like gen 2.5 soviet 100 (3BM-8) and 122mm APDS (3BM-11) however they act more like gen 1, so they can be called gen 1.5 gen 3 APDS: 105mm L7: M728, slpprj m/66, Chieftain's 120mm (L15A3)

The FV4202 doesnt have a "bugged" machine gun, it has a very limited elevation by design, the MG cant elevate because of how far its recessed in it's housing.
What's funny: You showed the poor performance of APDS against the Samua but the only place the AP can even pen it from the front is right below the gun.

The complex gun mantlet of the cent mk 3 was much worse in RL then in WT. Hence why the replaced it with a flat plate on the cent mk 10 or wanted a mantletness design. I remember getting a 50% discount coupon for this thing once, and i was tempted to buy it as it would have been a good grinder. Then I looked at the turret armor and instantly gave up on any idea of purchasing it

APDS or APFDS. I've had such a good run with the stock APDS that I haven't gone for the APFSDS which has barely better statistical performance with a lighter mass.
Well the apds on the centurion was able to go through a king tiger upper plate from a kilometer away, but in war thunder i get a non-pen at point blank! 🤷♂️ What gaijin really needs to do is stop butchering british vehicles for absolutely no reason! And no, the centurion is not "op" it has stabilizer and that's it, you get out maneuvered by a battle ship, you can't snipe because gaijin decides that your gun is highly inaccurate, the dispersion is abysmal, you have no meaningful armor at all, the thing you should have is the gun, same for the carnaveon, but gaijin says "no no no, that's too much for a vehicle to have". I don’t even bother with issue reports anymore, they're just ruining the game on purpose.

You actually can. It's just really inconsistent. Same thing with Tiger II UFP. Test drive in Arcade Mode and you'll see that the hit marker is yellow past 300m. Getting in closer than 100m and it's a guaranteed pen. Still, even then the post pen damage might fuck with you as the enemy crew only got yellowed 😂
@@jasonnguyen1840 i've actually never been penned in the UFP in my Somua SM against APDS, the only things i've been killed by easily is from the german 128, derp guns ofc, a few other guns except british APDS and guns smaller than 105 (HEAT ofc and atgms will obviously pen)

The Somua has exactly the same UFP as the Tiger 2 and yet the Tiger 2 can easily get one shot through the UFP by British 83.4mm APDS while the Somua can't even be penned. And even if it does get penned, it suffers 0 damage because premium tanks have a different damage model compared to normal tech tree tanks. The TAM 2IP is another example.....
