We start having sex at 20 and we are unlucky in finding the person we will eventually marry until 35-40 years old.
20 years could pass and if you had 10x 2-year relationships that is still 10 partners. 10x 2-year relationships aren't even realistic. Most unsuccessful relationships are probably around 4 months or less. That turns into 3 relationships per year. If you are really unlucky that is about 60 relationships in 20 years.
Obviously, there will be a mix of longer and shorter relationships but in 20 years you could go anywhere from 10-60 relationships. Every relationship doesn't require sex to take place but people between the ages of 20-40 aren't going weeks or months at a time without having sex.
