Either a blown head gasket or valve seals with the possibility of vacuum sucking engine oil into the combustion cycle (the vacuum routing on these trucks is a comical nightmare). None of those is the end of the engine or expensive/difficult to fix. I can see wanting a different truck but that one is not condemned, it just needs a mechanic who wants to work on it.
a head gasket is a common thing with the mini trucks.. and if not fixed it will warp the head. if the heads not cracked you can mill it.. i milled mine by hand last year with a tile and some 3000 grit sand paper..
In Japan the koi farmers use these mini trucks to transport the koi all around the mountains. Let's hope your new truck will become your work horse and not let you down xxxx
So sorry about your little truck, but so nice that Tony made it good! Like he said, this is the 1st failure. I just love these trucks! I wish we could get one in Northern California.
I’d keep the “broken” one and just drive it into the dirt. It would make a good one to use for the kinda stuff you wouldn’t do with the new one! Jumps, water and the like. Also, it would be a good one to teach your daughter how to drive with, that way if it gets messed up, oh well! Good video as always!
I had a heavy thick rubber mat in my 1993 chevy s-10 for two decades and had no rust. It is all about how your treat your truck. I took the mat out for loads of mulch so it was easy to unload; I cleaned the bed when it needed it... and it was easy because I could pull off the matt and just hose everything off. Liners are more difficult to clean off than a regular metal bed. Also, non-lined beds allow for much easier mulch / dirt unloading. I love liners too... but everything has their place.
You always looked so happy with that first truck that it was a real joy to watch. And then so sad when it quit working that it made me sad, too. Really glad you've got a new truck for the farm!
I am sorry that your first farm truck had a problem. I am so happy that you didn't give up on the little trucks! I think they are cute and so versatile. Thanks for sharing.
Good thing you live close to Mayberry, I bought one from them about 6 months ago. It to has issues, contacted them the day it arrived, told me that I live too far from away, to help me. By the way I live in Oklahoma. Hope and pray things work out better for you than me
Very happy for you. Let's face it, equipment like this really helps give you more time to do more things on the homestead. FYI I believe you can find kits that will turn that truck bed into a dump bed. Very handy. Have a great day. 😊
Jason. Your channel/station, makes me smile and laugh. You want reliable. It’s at least 30 years old, right??? I’ve learned so much from your RUclipss and with the 3 talking heads. Keep trucking!!! I’m also from California now some farmsteadning In Kansas. Goooooooo Jason!!! 😁
Wow Jason it’s great that the person who sold you the first mini truck worked with you for the second one. I hope you got a heckuva deal! If this one only lasts four months then that dealer has some serious explaining to do selling trucks that are of such low quality. Hopefully that won’t be the case. God bless! 🥰❤️🙏🏻
In the Philippines, we converted this truck from the right-hand drive to the left-hand drive before selling, by the way we call them multicab, and the prices here are much lower for around 1,800 to 5,400 USD.
I think we missed your mini truck almost as much as you did! It made you so happy!! I'm sorry it wasn't worth fixing but glad you found another one you like.
Love the new truck Jason, the rubber mat is a great addition. Maybe roll it up if it ever rains to stop water collecting underneath if you are worried about rust.
Those are just the cutest lil farm vehicles. Been driving on the left for about 7 yrs in the Caribbean. I can not do a manual transmission here. My brain just wont do the left hand shifting. Learning curve lol.
I have to say I have a big smile on my face in the UK we are aright hand drive country with what you call stick shift. I’ve been to the USA a few times and refuse to drive because your left hand drive. Well done and brave of you swapping sides of road is scary . Love your channel
Bro it's very cheap to fi,x just change oil rings new head gasket and valve oil seal it be all ok I had the same problem I fix it myself they are better then the 2023
Of course the Honda sounded quieter because you're not sitting on top of the engine like the Suzuki!..The Honda engine is at the back axle. Really bad luck to have the head gasket go on the original truck. Poor Jason. I'm glad you got a new one and you're happy with it! We've all been waiting for this video.
I am surprised and pleased for you that the seller was willing to work with and for you. And yes, I think I could get used to the right hand drive easier than a left hand shifter! That clutch foot and shifting hand action is so automatic. Its automatic enough that at least once I reach in half a panic or slam on the brakes when driving an automatic.
we bought a Hijet in the spring - my husband loves it! It is getting around 40 mi to the gallon, and gets up to 60 comfortably on the highway. ended up put in a lift kit
We have a decent sized farm that relies on side by sides. We have gone the mini truck route before and it has never worked out. Constantly breaking. Can’t go off-road,rides like a wooden wagon. We have side by sides that range from brand new to 18 years old. They all work fine and don’t give us trouble.
I was rooting for one thst had the lift in the back. Makes for a versatile transportation vehicle on the Homestead and all those wood chips a collection of tree branches and trunks.
My Mitsubishi Minicab started burning a lot of oil after about 2k miles. Low compression across all three cylinders. I was quoted 2500 for a full rebuild, including refreshing the head. Seems way cheaper than another truck plus you now have a new motor without surprises. My 2 cents.
Glad that you got your new truck, but what astonished me is the quantity of grass on your property when compared with when you bought t, it has improved so much!
I want the Sambar because it’s a 4cyl and the engine is at the rear of the truck to give more weight for better traction. We live in a very mountainous area of north central Washington state USA. We need a small truck for grunt work in tight areas. We have steep terrain so a 4WD is a must. During the winter months it’ll be parked as we get 5-7 feet of snow every winter.
Lorraine, I know the pigs enjoy the peach skins, but have you thought of freeze drying them? I bet you could, then pulverized them to powder and use it to flavor drinks, like teas, lemonades, etc. Just a thought.
That truck would be a good project for them Rhodes boys or the Hollars boys. Their all very good about gitting it dun , just like y'all are. So happy you have a wonderful relationship with your family and in laws . I gasp when I heard Lorraine say peach peels/skins to the pigs . My Granny made peach gelly with the skin and let over scrap pcs. The same with apples. Much love to y'all and pray for a wonderful weekend.👍💛🙏
Really wanted that first one to work out. Hopefully, this one fits the bill. Worst case scenario, if no one buys it, you can turn the bed into a wagon. Just cut the front of it off and make a hitch for it. At least it wouldn't be a total loss.
I've had my Carry for 3 years, and aside from a steering wobble, which i believe is a $20 bushing, I've had no trouble at all. And I've put almost 8,000 road miles as a semi-daily driver. I think these trucks are very well built. Tony seems like a great guy. I'd already bought mine at auction directly from Japan, otherwiseTony would have the man!
I was trying to come up with the justification for getting one then you said "shifter on the left" , lol. I could not do that to my fellow road warriors, me trying to shift on the left of the steering column? I just can't imagine that, ha ha. Glad you got some wheels Jason, still think it needs a 60's peace flower paint job
If the block didn’t crack it’s still repairable. Tony probably telling you it’s not worth it because the labor cost compared to the cost of the truck, it’s not worth it. If you can repair it yourself it’s still worth it. Try rebuilding the engine yourself. Great way to learn automotive repairs.
So happy he worked with you on another farm truck We missed seeing you using it in the videos I'm praying it last you at least 10 years God bless you my question is did Randy buy one to?
You need to find an old school mechanic Jason, changing the head gasket on a small motor like that Suzuki should be pretty straight forward.
I love how close you are with your in-laws! They seem to be beautiful people, and considering how lovely Lorraine is, you are truly blessed!
a head gasket is a common thing with the mini trucks.. and if not fixed it will warp the head. if the heads not cracked you can mill it.. i milled mine by hand last year with a tile and some 3000 grit sand paper..
In Japan the koi farmers use these mini trucks to transport the koi all around the mountains. Let's hope your new truck will become your work horse and not let you down xxxx
So happy you’ve got a new truck! I know it has to be helpful carrying everything around the farm! Love you all ❤❤❤
So sorry about your little truck, but so nice that Tony made it good!
Spray bed liner is the way to go... Mats will rust things out
You can spray the bottom of the truck to help with rust issues.
Facts 💯
I had a heavy thick rubber mat in my 1993 chevy s-10 for two decades and had no rust. It is all about how your treat your truck. I took the mat out for loads of mulch so it was easy to unload; I cleaned the bed when it needed it... and it was easy because I could pull off the matt and just hose everything off. They can easily fix that blown gasket of your kei truck here in the 😢Philippines .theres a lot of motoparts supply you can buy gasket here
The rubber mats cause no rust at all, my Carry has one since new in 2002 and the paint under it is still like new!
You always looked so happy with that first truck that it was a real joy to watch. And then so sad when it quit working that it made me sad, too. Really glad you've got a new truck for the farm!
So much fun watching you with your father-in-law
Sorry about your truck. Hopefully someone will love to take an opportunity to tinker with it. 🙏 the new one outlasts the first one by many many years🙏
Good to see you have a new truck, and the owner worked with you.
I am sorry that your first farm truck had a problem. I am so happy that you didn't give up on the little trucks! I think they are cute and so versatile. Thanks for sharing.
I saw one of your Suzuki mini trucks at a classic car meet in UK last week ..I said Oh Jasons truck 😂
A mini dump is exactly what I am looking for! So beautiful. 🌞🌱❤️
CONGRATULATIONS on buying a replacement minitruck. Tim in northern TN
So good to see you back in a mini truck!
That little enclosed van would’ve made a perfect rural mail delivery vehicle. I wish I would’ve had one during the 20 years I worked for the USPS.
Good thing you live close to Mayberry, I bought one from them about 6 months ago. It to has issues, contacted them the day it arrived, told me that I live too far from away, to help me. By the way I live in Oklahoma. Hope and pray things work out better for you than me
Randy getting happy about the cassette player was hilarious. Old memories 😂. If I watch enough RUclips videos I’m pretty sure I can fix it😅
SoCal still sucks.
But we love all you are doing!
Very happy for you. Let's face it, equipment like this really helps give you more time to do more things on the homestead. FYI I believe you can find kits that will turn that truck bed into a dump bed. Very handy. Have a great day. 😊
Good luck with the new truck Jason, hope it lasts longer!!!
Jason.
Your channel/station, makes me smile and laugh.
You want reliable. It’s at least 30 years old, right???
I’ve learned so much from your RUclipss and with the 3 talking heads.
Keep trucking!!!

So great you have someone at your back for mini-truck. We know how excited you were‼️👍
Congratulations on getting the farm truck 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 You really needed it. 😊
I think we missed your mini truck almost as much as you did! It made you so happy!! I'm sorry it wasn't worth fixing but glad you found another one you like.
I had the exact issues happen to my 2000 Ford Ranger 1 month after buying it
So glad you got that worked out. Hope this one does well.
Love the new truck Jason, the rubber mat is a great addition. Maybe roll it up if it ever rains to stop water collecting underneath if you are worried about rust.
💚 Yay for the new, newer mini-truck! Hope it does last 5 years. Looked like fun test-driving with Randy. 💚
I’ve got a Subaru Dias micro van, the flat three engine is over the back wheels, it has great traction.
Mini trucks rock.
The mini just fits you, Jason. Happy for you.
Those are just the cutest lil farm vehicles. Been driving on the left for about 7 yrs in the Caribbean. I can not do a manual transmission here. My brain just wont do the left hand shifting. Learning curve lol.

I think those trucks are happy to be with you☘️
Those trucks are so great. Happy you were able to get another. 😊
Still driving my lil suzuki van everyday I love it...great on fuel...😊
Bro it's very cheap to fi,x just change oil rings new head gasket and valve oil seal it be all ok I had the same problem I fix it myself they are better then the 2023

Glad you were able to get another truck Jason ! The little pigs eating the kale was a nice clip. Thanks :)
I am surprised and pleased for you that the seller was willing to work with and for you.

i did line x on my Sambar and it turned out so very nice! Things don't slide around either. Bought from Tony as well. He's the best!
Good luck with your new truck. Hope it lasts for years and years.
we bought a Hijet in the spring - my husband loves it! It is getting around 40 mi to the gallon, and gets up to 60 comfortably on the highway. ended up put in a lift kit

Hauling wood, we have to brush out as much as we can on the F250. So much Fun lifting up the 3/4” thick bed mat.
Great to see the new farm truck . . . great selection of trucks, wish it was close to me. Cheers looked like fun, guy shopping day.
You pick the truck I picked. Needed piece of equipment on your farm. I sure hope this one holds up.
40 years ago I had a 250cc Honda version and loved it . Great for hobbies. A bit of trouble with dynostart. Put a ply body on and overnight in i
Ah Randy loved that Fire truck lol. Glad you got a newer one and on wheels again
I missed seeing you buzz around in your farm truck. Hope this one works out!
I love those little trucks. I liked the dump lift.
Spray the bed to protect it from rusting and then use the liner!!
the dump truck one would be great for farming. with the different jobs that need be done, it could do it
I was rooting for one thst had the lift in the back. Makes for a versatile transportation vehicle on the Homestead and all those wood chips a collection of tree branches and trunks.
We looked at a van almost bought it - they are really cool vehicles!

Ya that was not good for the truck to have problems in just 4 months , Happy you got a better one so enjoy ,

I'd love a cary with the dump bed and has to be 4x4. We live in the mountains and alotta acreage. Dandahermit

Suzuki it is great company!!!
Just needs avoid bad previous owner 😊😊
Former neighbour and wife weighed 500lbs+ and travelled around in a K truck!!
Local Bakery used a couple for in town deliveries.
Really wanted that first one to work out. Hopefully, this one fits the bill. Worst case scenario, if no one buys it, you can turn the bed into a wagon. Just cut the front of it off and make a hitch for it. At least it wouldn't be a total loss.
Too bad about your 1st truck hopefully this one last a long time, and hope he have you a good deal.
It's so cute. 🕊
Several people in my town gave purchased mini trucks from Mayberry Mini Trucks and drive them around town!
Congrats I know you are glad to have a truck back
Good luck with the new to you mini truck
Yahoo! Happy for you Jason! 👍👍
Finally, something affordable, simple, and durable !
I had several in Panama and loved them. No AC unfortunately.
hope this works better for you. God bless you.
Been looking forward for a video drop from yall 💪🏾💪🏾

Love your new farm truck! It’s going to last for many years.
I converted a 2011 Nissan Leaf EV into a little farm truck . Hope your new truck is better than the last one.
Hopefully you have better luck with this truck. If they have the same parts may be a good idea to keep the old truck to use for parts.
Congratulations on finding the new truck; thanks for sharing! 🤗💗🇨🇦
Good job on newer truck👌❗️always enjoy your videos 😊
Happy trucking and easy work put a farm use tag on it.
Glad you got another truck

Smart move to get a newer one. I'm sure some mechanically gifted guy will buy your other truck. 🙂👍
Glad you have a new truck Jason now a mini van for Lorraine 😂🎉
That could be a fun little EV conversion for someone! I hope your newer truck lasts a very long time for you.
Happy for you, I know from experience, you have to have a truck.
Yeah u got a truck back ❤
So happy he worked with you on another farm truck We missed seeing you using it in the videos I'm praying it last you at least 10 years
God bless you my question is did Randy buy one to?
The mini van do look so cute.
