@@geoffreygavalia1832 probably doesn't matter much, but I can confirm that it fucks you up. My partner a few years back, she was hit by a car and i wasn't fast enough to push her out of the way. My leg got pretty badly banged up, but she didnt make it. Drunk drivers man.
I harbored the guilt for years, literally hitting the gym so hard that it was self destructive
a couple years ago shortly after the pandemic died down, i saw the same scene not two blocks from where it happened the first time. I saw what was happening, and some girl going to the bars wearing high heels was in the path, and i happened to be just a couple feet away. I was able to take a couple of steps and grab her off her feet and spin to get her out of harms way. the corner of the car hit me and we went tumbling across the pavement. Again, only a broken bone, this time in my arm from when i hit the pavement. ambulance took us to the hospital, and she got away with just a sprained ankle and some cuts and bruises. I cried so hard when i found out. When you fail to save someone, even if realistically there was no way you could, the guilt is literally soul crushing. So when you get put into that position and you DO save a life, you can finally start to forgive yourself. thats why i love this scene, because it perfectly encapsulates thats feeling to the point where people who cannot comprehend how that truly feels are moved to tears by only scratching the surface of whats there. solid writing

Imagine how many times Peter had re-run that scenario in his head, imagining what he could have done differently to save Gwen. When he executed that move, it was with perfect form, like he'd seen it in his head a thousand times. And he's so happy he saved MJ, but he's also hit with that wave of sadness, because he realizes that if he'd caught Gwen and webbed the building to slow *himself* down, he could have saved her, too. So even in this moment where he does something wonderful, he can't stop beating himself up for not saving Gwen.

I agree with that, but I haven't seen his movies, so I'm not sure, but could he have have even reached Gwen before she hit the ground? Like, he's obviously thought about it, and it paid off here because he had time to get himself to MJ first, but could he have even gotten to Gwen in time with this move? If she was closer to the ground to begin with and he was farther away, she'd still have died no matter what he did.

You can just see the mixture of emotions he’s going through when they land. He doesn’t say a word until MJ asks if he’s ok. It’s almost as if he’s saying to himself, “I got it right this time!” TH’s Spider-Man never really had the angsts like AG’s or TM’s did. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to pick a favorite but in that scene by itself AG is my favorite Spider-Man.
