When this has happened to you, it is nearly impossible to be impartial as a judge. The humiliation she endured mainly for the color of her skin all while sitting quietly in the park reading her book. To endure hours in a cell for some trumped up charges which could never be proven in a court of law. Then these cops used their favorite mantra "resisting arrest!" How many innocent people of color are jailed with impunity who have no education in law but are just everyday working class people minding their own business? All so the cops could get their quota of collars.

If you’re going to create legal scenarios, at least understand how the law works. The moment they checked her ID, they’d realize she’s a judge and back off. Plus, she’d have to recuse herself from any case involving them to avoid a conflict of interest.

Terrible decision by the court, they should have been remanded whilst she recused herself from the bench. Hopefully they could have served months awaiting trial…. At trial the assault charge should have been brought forward and as they were armed police this should have been an aggravating feature of the offence. The fear of the victim should be taken into account as he probably not unreasonably would have feared for his life. My sense of prosecution if this case is that they have taken the easiest path possible. Similar to how Trump who with the grand sum of 34 convictions has managed to escape any meaningful punishment for such crimes aggravated by attempting to cover up an illicit affair with a porn actress. The repetitive nature of the offences happening on at least thirty four occasions he should have been sentenced so much more harshly ending up behind bars… it cannot be one rule for us and another for those in power wether the president of the United States or wearing a police uniform

that's what I realised - years ago I employed a carer who was a magistrate and one evening her car was vandalised by a youth who was identified by other children leaving the park, however, they refused to be involved when they didn't want their parents to know they were at the park not each other's home. The magistrate ( in UK 3 magistrates deal with smaller cases with lesser sentences) immediately said she wouldn't be able to take any cases involving the named youth or his family. I don't think the US would allow it either.

Is this "true"? because I cannot find it anywhere on the net except for a similar youtube video of this same story. The video was titled: You Won’t Believe What Happened When Racist Cops Arrested This Black Woman Judge! This time the narrator was an Asian woman telling the story with almost the exact narrative. So I went online and typed: The arrest of Camille Johnson in the park by police in Fort Collins Colorado and came up with nothing. I tried different ways of rephrasing the question and always got, "It looks like there aren't many great matches for your search". Even looking for the viral video that was supposedly taken by the young women. Also, wouldn't the officers have known about this video making a false arrest if it were true. They certainly would have heard about it as other people there supposedly had. The narration was excessively long with unnecessary descriptions. They could have explained this in four minutes instead of 25 minutes, which led me to question the authenticity of this story. Unless someone out there can prove me wrong, please do.
