      Yeah I definitely agree they have their place especially the good ones. We just had so many warranties when we sold them that we decided to only sell glass boards.

      @@Newton240sx basically you drop your board on water instead of wet sand, I'd say anything 2 inches or deeper would be considered a water drop.

      @@Newton240sx 2 bits of valuable info that I can give you (cost me a torn quad and hip flexor to learn lol) is get a board slightly over sized to start and always go in the direction the wind is blowing, if you try and drop with a cross wind it shin digs you....ouch..... I use the back of my ears to judge the wind, if its blowing on the back of both ears and not in them your good to go, I live on a windy island so wind is an issue.
      Oh and a third, only go as fast as your willing to fall to start, after about 100 drops the muscle memory kicks in qnd you stop thinking about it and it becomes natural, then add speed from there.
      Happy shredding mate, hope that helps

      There can be a bunch of factors.... Sometimes the angle of the beach can be the issue as you will struggle to keep your speed into the waves. This is the perfect board to help you learn but if your goal is to ride waves you may need a larger board for your weight or a bit more time on your board. It looks simple but it takes a long time to learn to ride waves

    • @RmfDiz
      @RmfDiz 3 года назад +2

      Its definitely a board meant for waves. Pretty much all of the epoxy/glass boards are meant for wave riding or boosting off of waves. There are just certain shapes and configurations for preference or wave types that may work better in certain areas as opposed to other boards. You need speed, and side-slip (RUclips it). It depends on the beach as well. The guys you see in SoCal have long sloped shores to skim into waves, but out here where I'm at (gulf coast) we usually (but not always) have narrower shores and waves that are too far out even for the pros, and they're not nearly as big. The right board can help (look at a size chart) but most will tell you that its 1% board and 99% rider. It takes a lot of practice and muscle memory.

      A Tail pad is awesome it helps you locate your back foot. An arch bar (that runs up the middle) is also helpful. But you definitely don’t have to surf wax is totally fine.

    • @BallisticsWakeandSnow

      The EX0 is a great entry level board. It will work for your weight in flat shallow water if you can get enough speed. But if you want to advance or get into waves you will need a board with more surface area to keep you afloat.

    • @RmfDiz
      @RmfDiz 3 года назад +1

      You need at the very least a 56 inch board with 3/4 thickness. I fluctuate between 206-210lbs at 5'11 and bought my 52inch zap pro with a 200lb limit with weight loss in mind as im currently trying to get down to 185-190...so I'm a tad over the limit, but the board still does fine for wrapping small shorebreak, boosting, and flat skimming. Speed and side slip are going to be the best way to reach waves. When you side slip it almost feels like you gain a boost in speed, and you'll definitely feel less drag.

      @@jerrysetlerr770 no problem. Skimboarding has been around forever, but it hasn't gained as much attention or following as other "sports" like surfing, or skating, so it can be hard to find tips and advice. If you really wanna get into it check out austin keen or blair conklin on youtube. They have some really helpful tutorials and just generally amazing footage.
