Yaaaasss... When I would listen to the original song, I was always kind of annoyed that I had to turn it down for that clock intro before blasting volume for the rest.
That was the true art to the production. THose clocks were recorded in a clock shop and great preparation had to be made to do that. It was very unique and showed great imagination and genius. The engineering to do that was spectacular.
Meh I kinda liked them, it jars you and makes you uncomfortable, it’s almost hard to listen to and believe it or not the bells are in F# minor which sets up the song perfectly making the opening E note feel more grounded
That's what this album is supposed to do to you, This album is made for humans by humans.. When you find out in life that time is passing by quickly and there is nothing you can do about it you get anxious and stressed, hence the clocks and chimes of realization, the rest of the song is Pink Floyd telling the listener everything is going to be okay, because every person on earth has the chance to experience life and to make the most out of it, to do what makes them happy.
That's part of the human condition: to want what you don't have. Being an adult isn't perfect but it's pretty great for the most part. I can do anything (mostly) and go anywhere, just as long as I have enough money.
You are coming home from school and your favorite show is on ... you look out the window and it begins to slowly pour, you get your blanket and hot chocolate ready as you sit down...Out of no where you begin to think about your crush you had seen today at school , thinking about if they are thinking about you...you get butterflies in your stomach... wondering if you should talk to him/her at school the next day...you try sleeping but you can’t get your mind off of him/her... you see your crush at a distance and he/she looks into your eyes and smiles... you try getting closer and closer to the point where you want to see their eye color... you feel their presence... you both are frozen... you try to grab her/his hand ...she/he leans on you for a kiss as you lean on her/him... lips almost touch ... You wake up knowing it was just a dream
I lost a good deal of my hearing working in an industrial environment. The slowed, added reverb makes it much easier to hear without maxing the volume out.
Taking out the clocks is kinda of blasphemous Alan Parson was a genius for that added bit Went into a clock shop and recorded each individually Then brought them all together in an experiment of his, before them, it was an archive recording of two astronauts chattering during EVA
I know...it was kind of a tough call. I usually do not like to trim or make edits to the original track, but in this case the pacing/length of the intro was at odds with the speed I wanted for the slow-version :/ I appreciate your comment and feedback though
Been a fan of all your slowed uploads dude , keep on dishin them tunes please 🙏🏽 May I ask how you get your visualizer for all your videos ? It’s so soothing to stare at while lifting away ......
Aw, thanks for all your support! I really enjoy it when people reach-out with personal comments or questions...especially about the design/process. I wanted a visual format that- • I could re-use and edit easily, • Apply to all types of music, • Wasn't Distracting/Busy After a lot of experimenting and revision, I eventually created this simple* scene in Adobe After Effects. It's created using a high-quality image of an abstract pattern from a stock-photo website (original image!---> --bit.ly/2UvaSta-- ) -- I basically warped the flat image into a sphere, and then applied layer-upon-layer of shading & color-effects that all interact with one another when adjusted (generating a ton of easily-accessible diverse color combinations). Then I just have two differently sized video-layers of CGI snowfall in the background (also acquired as stock footage).
it hurts growing up because you see your parents slowly starting to treat you different and you know that they feel their little girl is gone and all the magic of being little goes away and they see you as nothing but a lazy idiot who just wants things from them
the lyrical part of this song reminds me of a skateboarding movie thats almost post apocalyptic, but focuses on one kid loosing his world and family, and ending up in some sort of dusty, sandy deserted village, and eventually disappears from the camera, only leaving his skateboard. this also has to have that specific breaking bad filter over it, where its kinda pale and stuff
I know what you mean...I usually don't like making any actual edits to the songs, but there are some cases where long pauses and build-ups don't translate well to being slowed down. In retrospect, I could have kept the intro normal speed and then slow it down once the music begins
The feeling I get from slowed songs is addictive
Liam!
welcome….
You can check in, but you can never leave…..
the one dislike was from that one person who didn’t mind the clocks at the beginning
Lmao

Time but the entire 7 minutes is just the clocks going off

That solo is fire it’s good at normal speed but u really hear gilmours passion and feel in it that man is making that guitar speak
Really emphasises the whole time aspect of the song.
Ironic huh
thanks for removing the clocks. whenever i listen to this normally, the alarms and rings make me anxious and stressed
They made me dislike Pink Floyd as a kid because they scared the daylights outta me.

Damn you're hot!
this is heavenly to meditate to
It’s ironic right? How growing up all I wanted is to be grown up, and now that I’m grown up I regret the past?

It really is weird. The most realistic thing ever said to me was, “Life sucks, then, you die.
Bro I think about that all the time, I always wanted to be a grown up as a kid and now I just wanna go back 😂

Great that you got rid of the clocks ringing out. Be great if your songs were a little bit more slowed down.
