Have my 182 Kodiaq Ambition with the electric tailgate, the last three weeks and I absolutely love it. Joy to drive, comfortable, great lay out money well spent.
just changed from a 161 toyota rav sport to the182 kodiaq sportline in the velvet red and the 20” alloys. i thought i had a good car until i got the kodiaq, looks, comfort and driving experience are so much better. well worth the bigger price tag.
The Skoda kodiaq sportline reminds me of VWs R line or SEAT’s FR equivalent. Looks sporty, but is a similar car underneath. Had to look back at Bobs Peugeot 3008 review, I still feel it could sway a number of VW group customers towards it.
I still think that the Superb has a better interior, better finished, on the Kodiaq back doors you can find hard plastic while on the Superb not (just as an example). But if someone needs a Skoda with 7 seats, this is it.
NZ police have just gone skoda getting superb wagons to replace the commodore patrol cars so I can see them getting these to replace the equinox and arcadias as well. Good looking vehicles imo, time will tell on reliability, practicality and dealership support.
I love the superb sport line. (love the superb but it's abit old Manish), the sport line solves that. I also really like the kodiak, I think it's the best looking car in its class in normal teim, so add sport line trim, I can't see what could go wrong. My local dealer have a truck full of brand new pre registered kodiak for big money off them. Such a nice car. Had a few petrol vrs for £20k. Shame the messed up the front lights. One of reasons I picked the Leon FR ST over the Vrs.
Robert Day did you think of that one all on your own? Just because you personally don't like the look, doesn't mean they are not regarded as decent looking cars. As if it wasn't, it wouldn't be continued to be made and sold. Each to their own I say, personally I like estates, one segment which is dieing cos consumers prefer SUVs today, so I'm in the minority there. . Learn to respect other people's opinions. The world doesn't revolve around your good self. If we all like the same shit, life would be dull, and we would have a single car oem. So we would all suffer due to a retraction in the economy. maybe you should of been taught some manners as a child. I'm not sure if that is your fault or was your parents. Either way one of you fucked up. As I've not had the privilege (or mid fortune) of speaking to your parents, I'll have to give them the benefit of doubt, and presume it's you that's an ignorant, non mannered fuckwhit. Anyhow don't let my words take away the respect I'd have for your opinion, if you'd bothered to give one. Have a nice day. As long as youre happy with your çar, and me with mine, what does it matter what each thinks of the other. It doesn't. And by the way, for the record, I have plus 20/20 vision. One of the few bits of me that hasn't start to fail yet.
Hi Bob, My first Skoda Edition 2.0TSi 180BHP DSG 4X4 was rejected as it was a terribly bad problematic car. It was replaced with the exact same model albeit the new 190BHP Engine. However whilst I agree they are great car, they are I believe under speced across the range. I will be keen to drive (if and when it is made) a Hyundai Sante Fe petrol auto 4x4. Enjoy your reviews. Cheers.
I tried to buy one last May and my local dealer couldn’t get his hands on one for love nor money. He was blaming WLTP and saying that Skoda weren’t importing as of the cars as they didn’t know what was going to happen when it came into force. Now that I’m starting to understand what the WLTP is about, Skodas position makes no sense. Surely they should have been flogging them left/right/centre as the new tax regime will apply only to new cars?
And at the end of 2020, prices are still going up. EVs are no exception to this. As emission rules get tighter, the manufacturers will be taking in the profits, from every models that boasts one mile more per gallon or anything with a plug.
@@BobFlavinVideo I have the new Superb at present but going by your opinion of the Kodiaq, I will look at one of those next I think. You seem to like it.
gow the hell did this lose to the peugeot please i have just got the karoq sports line and its a bloody good suv we got the 1.5 dsg shit on fuel but brillant to drive and very quiet and smooth
It's funny how skoda is not bad yet I wouldn't touch a vw with a 12 foot pole vws are shocking for there reliable cars last time they had a gd passet was bk in 04
For family cars the Peugeots have microscopic glove boxes... You can just about fit a 1 litre bottle of water and then they're full. I visited my not-so-local dealer a few weeks ago and walked out in disgust. Don't their interior designers have children?
Christopher Martin they have bigger gloveboxes on left and drive versions. The French are too lazy too move the fuse box over to the other side when making rhd versions. We get get small gloveboxes because of this
I know, I've had 2 Renaults (still got the second one) and they suffer too, but at least they still have a glovebox that takes the car manual, service book and a couple of packets of crisps !
Russ Cattell The glovebox on our MINI Countryman has a grippy mat, a pen holder, 2 cd case holders, a chill vent, and a notch where you can store a bottle of glasses lens cleaner. We're spoilt with all this luxury!
It is a good car, but this review is not very objective. It is not a true 7-seater, it is 5+2. One does not simply sit in the 3rd row when one is taller than 176 crm, for example.
Will there be more diesel engined cars coming or will we all be driving EV's in the next couple of years?

Picking up my new kodiaq sportline this week 👌
Wait till the Kodiaq L&K version comes out!!! That’ll be the one to watch!

Spot on bob for me its not just the best Skoda but the best VAG group SUV all in all.
Better than i.e. Cayenne? Granted that I can agree with that if you talk cars in Kodiaq's price range & Audis up to and including Q7 perhaps
I just took delivery of a new RS. Love the car and it’s features..except one. No spare wheel. What’s going on Skoda.
An Audi and BMW also do not have spare wheels
NZ police have just gone skoda getting superb wagons to replace the commodore patrol cars so I can see them getting these to replace the equinox and arcadias as well. Good looking vehicles imo, time will tell on reliability, practicality and dealership support.
I hope other states in Australia follow suit

Stephen Butler you should of gone to spec savers

Skoda looks great.

No comparison as the 3008 and 5008 dont have 4wd so not real SUV
A comparison was impossible as all Peugeot cars where being fixed in the garage
Peugeot is stupid, no 4wd and call that SUV🤦♀️
Agreed on the 'looks deadly' line (y)
I have one in black and Petrol
Love your reviews.
Thnk you!

nice car
But does it have a volume knob?
#bringbackthevolumeknob
I'm just using the volume wheel on the steering wheel, so it is not irritating as I thought 👍 great infotainment system
Is this business grey or quartz grey?
Quartz

Ok, i want to buy one. But what is the problem now?
My father is getting the vrs one but like 57 grand for a skoda is fairly fucking expensive since they were just released a while ago

I guess I am spoiled with 2 glove boxes, the large lower one is air conditioned & has clips to hold a pen & note pad too.Simply clever eh !

..jeep grand cherokee srt8 much?...
Skoda have already announced its ev range to get around the new wltp rating issue with diesel and plug in petrol
The problem is the price of it
Peugeot 3008 is much more quiet. Like electric car in city speeds.
But it’s a Peugeot, so the car will breakdown and after a while the engine will get noisy
Alan Akeister Not if it doesn't have bmw sourced engine. I have driven over one million kilometers with Peugeots and not have had any major problems.
It is more quiet because has shit small engines.
Not sure how you can call it roomy. I sat in each row in a demo Kodiaq and thought it was pretty cramped.
I like the comment that you "can't get it", two months ago I seriously got the last new TDI sportline available in NZ!! LMAO!!!!!
It is a good car, but this review is not very objective. It is not a true 7-seater, it is 5+2. One does not simply sit in the 3rd row when one is taller than 176 crm, for example.
well...I'm 183cm and you can see me sitting in the 3rd row in the video. There's enough room for most journeys but over an hour would get cramped.
Ok, that's my point also, you can't comfortably fit 7 adults in the car. Short journeys are fine, however.
Great lookin bus but anyone with kids knows you need leather seats and it’s not available in sportsline nor is 4x4
Pointless
Go for l&k version. Ya'll get 4x4 and leather
Hopefully wltp will kill off some of these thirsty SUVs.
Long term reliability have been horrible in Skoda
A Peugeot winning any car of the year award must be the biggest joke ever told!
The 405 definitely “took my breath away”
I loved my 205 GTi back in the day. Nothing to take my fancy since from Peugeot.
3008....superb all rounder...love mine
you dont buy french cars and any car starting with with F word
Seems very noisy (tyres and diesel)
simply a poormans audi q7...well maybe not that poor
Q7 is just way too long to be practical for UK. My missus wouldn't be able to park it. Skoda is a great length for a 7 seater however.
Stay positive. Your title is negative, so have a "thumbs down".
Hey Alan, keep your thumbs to yourself and stop nothing people with it. Watch the video you fool
Hideous grill. Even Skoda tried to hide it by spray painting it black
Blake Swan ↑ grille
The black is what makès it look good
That's reason why Skoda cars are worst
Paid review?
I would love it if someone paid me to review cars but no, I just give my opinion and move on.
