I like Craig’s approach of using as many OEM components as he can. Manufacturers have big budgets to design and test components so they’re reliable. Much bigger budgets than aftermarket companies making “uprated” components.
Plus so much easier to source replacements, often cheaper too

Brilliant bloke does a full detailed explanation of his conversions and how it all works , i lovrd hid quick build mx5 just a but more power ended up atound 300 and lookex a total weapon in track .

Flyin miata had all the CAN stuff figured out. Now the Sarasota Super Sport Performance in USA bought the right to flying miata R&D and they are starting to sell ND LS conversions. They might be able to help with CAN stuff if you run into problems.

I had a 84 Audi 80 with a 20vT conversion and an eBay T4 turbo. It had a mechanically switched centre diff so I could pull the front shafts and have rwd.
Need to see more Craig

who does the CAN Bus stuff for you Craig?
I doubt it would be a popular video haha, but I'd be very curious to see the process of making them ECUs talk to eachother and troubleshoot it.

I use emerald ecus , they are very good at doing me one off stuff and making the impossible happen !! , there ecus work very well and have all the features we need

Stroked 3B, decent size turbo, ZF 8HP65 box, matching diff, more modern struts/hubs/wishbones etc. Suitable period mods, fairly low key.

I got it out of storage and had it in Dyno ( 404 bhp ) so need to mot it and get on road again

I’ve done a few 8hp cars now , they good . We will maybe do a drive vid at some point
Awesome footage as always. If only I could understand everything Craig says. I get about 60%, the rest is too ‘dialected’ for me. I mean, for a non-British person, his accent is rather overpowering. I have to switch on subtitles when he speaks. I don’t have that problem with the other DW videos though. But I will watch all videos.
He's a Coventry kid that's spent many years in Birmingham, most of us struggle so at 60% you're doing okay.
You have to imagine what isn't there. For example. Suspension is '"spension"
