      I remember a US pro go "Most fun I ever got out of an ollie!" after they introduced a gap like that to the course in Münster a few years before this. They ran with it ever since. Yes, absolutely terrifying. The pyramid is not friend-sized either.

    Koston was a huge hero of mine back shortly after i started skating. Seeing this run also tells me how much skateboarding has evolved in the last 20+ years. Now it's all flip in flip out and finding the perfect flow. Very different from back then

    Still have some Skate mgzn with contest coverages of this era. Good times..those Europe comtest inspired me to organize the very 1st Sk8 contest here in our home town back in '98, & i'll 4ever be proud of it

      @@sanctummusic639 Have to agree with you on this one. While I don't think all skaters are at their best in their early 20's,I do think that's when they have the best ratio off agility and tricks. The way their bodies are able to just twist and turn from the age off 17 to 24 is something you can't get after it no matter how much you work out and take care off yourself.

      He’s aging like red wine and makes other pros in their „prime“ look goofy.

      No, as far as I remember (aka Wikipedia told me), the 2000 Mastership‘s winner was this man right here: Eric Koston. 2nd Ryan Johnson, 3rd McCrank.
      As for vert: Burnquist, PLG, Glifberg.
      Bastien took it in 2001.

      @@LuthersArchiv Don't get me wrong. The technical Level in thid competition is breathtaking. But after following SLS a couple of years with huge excitment i got kind of numb seeing the 100th 360 Noseblunt Flip out somehow and see myself much more Impressed by a good filmed and executed kickflip on a rough Spot. As great as this competition was for skateboarding i feel like the Art and soul behind this Sport is getting to far behind in SLS. As crazy as it is, but when i see ribeiro doing a tre crook flip out in a gaped kinkrail, i feel like "meh, whatever". Do you know what i mean?

    Hallo Luther, hast Du auch beim Mastership 1998 gefilmt?
    Ich würde gerne den ganzen Run von Danny Way des Jahres 1998 sehen, ich kenne nur die 411 Szenen, dh. Drop in in der Vert mit Transfer in den Park und anschließenden 360.
    Es gibt natürlich auch viele andere Profis deren ganzen Run ich gerne mal sehen möchte, nicht nur die Highlights.

      its with everything nowadays. people push stuff to the limits and the kids just get younger while raising the bar. sometimes i feel like things are over the top but when you see how far skateboarding has come. its still awesome, isnt it?

      @hashbrix2991 Absolutely. And the kids are alright. Watching their creativity unfold is still mad fun. 9 year olds singlehandedly bringing back vert skateboarding, I genuinely love it. Not to mention the pace of development in women‘s skateboarding, which might just be the best thing to happen, ever. If you search hard enough, you‘ll always find something to be mad about, but overall, I really don‘t think there is a lot to complain about rn.
