@@keyglover1267 That's because love is better. He played better with the youngest and most unproven team in the modern football era. Half the season his RB was out and his #1 wr. Goff is good but he's definitely not as good as love. Literally has one of the best RB duos, WRs, TEs, and the best O-line in the league.
Jordan Love had one half of a decent season that went out with an interception. How can anyone put him over Goff that went to a Suoer Bowl, had two back to back winning seasons with the Lions, won a division, won two playoff games, and made it to the NFC championship. Love hasn’t done neither of that! Matter of fact, Love may get exposed since everyone has tape on him now.
The lions made huge changes in the secondary. I agree with the ranking but would have expected some discussion.

They added 2 slow corners in the draft and couple more slow ones through free agency. Congrats?
They don't give points to rookies. Thats why there was no conversation. They added Carlton Davis who is good but not as good as these other teams top CBs. They also lost CJGJ. At the end of the season this could be a different conversation but right now they are clearly the weakest secondary based on their grading metric.

St Brown and LaPorta alone is better than the Bears two main receivers by numbers. Even though LaPorta isn’t a wide receiver he’s great at the tight end position! Overall the Lions skill set is better than Minnesota with the best duel RBs, the O line, the speed demons like Jamo, and Kalif Raymond. Don’t forget Jamo and Montgomery, are both great at receiving as well!

I am OK with the Lions secondary rating for now but the second half of the season we will see the Lion's with one of the best secondaries in the NFL, and next year they will be first in your list.

@@michaelgray8318 like most QB’s ever. TB12, Payton, Marino, the list goes on and on. Throughout NFL history the way to beat and offense was by getting to the QB. When they break out of the pocket, they get broken. The rules have changed and now you can’t touch a QB. Eventually these scramblers won’t be able to walk.

Lions also have Jalen Reeves-Maybin as 5th linebacker who made pro bowl last year on special teams. He and Rodrigo both got some real playing time and not just on special teams. So its 5 linebackers playing roles

I do think you’re under estimating the Packers skill group. A young group that played well. You can conclude that not all will continue on that trajectory but when you have so many to choose from you know some will, maybe all will. The Pack has few if any weak spots on offense.

I didn't hear any justification for the Lions being 4th in Secondary. They brought in a FA starting CB, traded for a starting CB, drafted possibly the best CB and have a room full of very good Safeties that have proven it in the NFL. They should be 2nd at the worst IMO.

Kyle really gave an entire speech about how they're going to be selecting based on resume and proven talent, not based on potential... then proceeded to pick Love over Goff and say it is bc Love has the better potential. I really cannot understand that. I just turned it off after QB for the hypocrisy.

Jefferson is the best WR in the league but St Brown is close. The Lions clear at literally every other skill position vs Minnesota. Lions should be #1 there.

And putting the Lions at #4 in the secondary is just insane. They should be #2 at worst.
I forget which publication it was, but even after how bad the CB’s were last year, Detroit’s CB’s were ranked at #6 in the NFL for next season. I still want to see the rookies actually play though before putting them really high, but they’re definitely going to be a lot better. Imagine if Moseley is actually healthy too. He has CB1 upside.

Love is #1 imo because he will have the best 2024 season statistically. Skill positions are too unproven for GB but the bears starting a rookie with a rookie throwing him the ball is fine and you think they could be higher?!?! More proof the offseason is the best time to be a bears fan 😂
I don't understand this. The young Packesr are young, but they showed it last year that they are good. They all had respectable yardage, TDs, etc. They showed it but they still have to show it more? And then you just ignore that they signed a RB who ran for 1600 yards 2 seasons ago.
Then that RB had only 805 yards and 3.5 ypc last year. So is he that 1600 yard guy or that 800 yard guy. The answer is no. He’s about an 1100 yard guy. More people rank Aaron Jones above Jacobs so, that’s viewed as a downgrade.
@@paulmayer8654 Not sure who these people are, but ranking a 30 year old RB above a guy who was the rushing leader a couple seasons ago is pretty dumb. Aaron Jones has had 5 MCL sprains in his career and is old. Also, he plays 2x on that god awful NY Giants/Jets turf in the first 5 weeks.

He's not that guy who led the league in rushing 2 years ago. He's really good, but he's not even a top 10 guy. You're just trying to boost his ranking because of 1 great season out of 5 and because he's on your team now lol

we saw the chiefs go to the SB a few years ago (and lose) with turnstiles on the O line. Believe it or not a team can go deep in the playoffs and still have glaring weaknesses.

You stated in the beginning that it’s about resume, not potential and the first thing the phish does is violate the premise by going with Love who played well for only half a season over a top 5 QB in the NFC. Jared Goff is easily the best QB in the North. With Detroit’s O-line and while OC Ben Johnson is there the Goffense is unstoppable.
Best skill group is Detroit if you are including running backs and TE.
Detroit has the best D-line. Give me Hutch, Reader, and McNiell all day. Those are all game wreckers.
You spent a total of zero seconds on the Lions secondary. As much as Detroit did to upgrade their CB’s in the draft and bringing in Davis and Robinson, would have been nice to hear some feedback. Brian Branch was an absolute stud last year.

I think Joff and Love is a toss up. If we are realistic they had about equal seasons last year with jogf having the better long term resume and love looking more impressive on field.
Skill group Min has better WR1 WR2 while Det has better RB and TE so again feel like its a toss up.
Det has the best linemen in hutch but GB has much better depth so i agree with the GB pick.
Det secondary is much improved but i think its more on the strength of the over teams vs weakness of lions. I like what they did this offseason
Skill positions it seems you guys counted 1 TE 2 RB 2 WR.....clearly Bears get penalized for having best #2 TE and #3 WR in Everett and Odunze.
