I hadn't heard of that series about Tchaikovsky, tbh! I also read Shadow/Hunger, it was so fun, especially Hunger made me laugh a lot (the humour was on point). Great list!
Hey Dom, love your number based ratings as always. Thanks also for being a great source for the indie TBR! I'm also working through Ruin now and loving it!
We have so many overlaps in favorites it’s nuts-the John Gwynne series including Of Blood and Bone are amazing! Shadows of the Apt an underappreciated gem! I really need to try Shackle, Hayes, Cahill, and de Castell!
I didn't know about any of those authors till I started following this channel and now I've read them all and loved every one of them. I always ask for recommendations and everything I've been told has been amazing.
Wow, 2023 really was the year of scifi for you, wasn't it? Great to see so many new favourites making it onto the list! I love your weighted rating system, and it's interesting to see some placements compared to your sheer enjoyment. That is why I personally enjoy using Cassidy's weighted rating system, where the enjoyment score is double weighted compared to the rest. Anyway, I am super eager to start Shadows of the Apt this year! And I hope we get updates on Bloodsworn soon!
It's very inventive. I love all the different facets of it and how they come into play in different scenarios in the books - especially when your "run of the mill" characters would otherwise be stuck.
dominish_books No Dresden Files? For Shame good Sir you must begun the Dresden Journey lol. Honestly though you should read them they are my Favorite Urban Fantasy Series of all time
There is someone on a totally different type of channel that someone once said I look like (I don't see it myself). I can't remember who that was, but it definitely wasn't me 🤣

Shadows of the Apt is one of the most uniquely wonderful series I've read!

Excellent! I'm always pleased to see people enjoying those books!
Great list!👍👍👍🤖🚀 Some of these are going on my tbr📚
Awesome! I hope you enjoy them too!

We have good taste! It's got to be good for the recommendations!
Second Cahill. Just got all caught up on that series.

I read 16 sci-fi last year, and half of those were from The Expanse! Excited for Shadows of the Apt!
I really like your videos and taste in books!
Thank you, I'm glad they're working for you!
Excited to add some of these to my TBR!
I hope they work well for you too!
Nearly finished my reread of FATF and its just a series thats going to hold up to the test of time
Now and then I get the temptation to break my position on re-reads...
That Tchaikovsky insect magic sounds interesting.
It's very inventive. I love all the different facets of it and how they come into play in different scenarios in the books - especially when your "run of the mill" characters would otherwise be stuck.
Love all these fantasy series but never have gotten into the scifi genre. I really need to try some before i run out of series ti read lol
Well, it's a completely different genre, so there's no given that a fantasy lover will also love sci-fi!
The Michael j sullivan books were amazing read x3 the prequels were OK too
Yeah, I just never got into The Crown Tower for some reason, but I'll perhaps get back to it at some point.
Ya thay were pfff and the legends of first empire were average. Age of myth age of war ect
Thanks for all your reply ill re try john gwynne . And leave you in peace 😂
So glad to see dragon spirits so high on the list!
I'm not really surprised though, it's a great series in terms of the enjoyment, but it's very good in the technical aspects too!

No, urban fantasy isn't for me, but Dresden in particular has no appeal for me whatsoever!
I feel like seen you on a different channel 😂 bloodbowl. Or mount and blade or game reviews
