Those gen 1 models are impossible to find now. I agree with you on the redesign not being as aesthetically pleasing as the original.

I totally agree - I got a bit lucky being able to find them on closeout for $65 a piece … I’ve got two now … and they are two piece… which is so rare.

Thanks for the comment -- you are correct !! The Zebco ABU series of reels are without peer .... I have 3 ... two 4's and a 3 ... I also like a sub $100 performance based rod - it's crazy what the power of the dollar has these days when you figure out what to buy and where to buy it. Here is my show and tell of the cardinals from 10 years ago ... production is a bit to be desired but the content is really good -- which is why it's one of my most popular videos of late -- ruclips.net/video/QdJQYXepsZk/видео.html Cheers !!

I've been wanting to get a revo SP X. I handled one at the local BPS and it felt super smooth and solid. Maybe its time to get one after finally seeing someone with one of the new Revo SP's

There are so many choices for reels - see what's out there and try to choose what's best for function, budget and brand. Thanks for watching !!

@@bubblebreeze1635 shimano makes some great ul spinning reels, if your budget is over 100$ I'd go for a vanford or a stradic ( I own both, there great!!)

Hi, do you like your SP Beast reel after all the time of using? Highly interested in Abu's reels, but not sure do they worth it - not much info.

I like it - but I really have nothing else to compare it too - I feel that it’s very fragile and always needs to be handled with kidd gloves - I do still use my Cardinals though -- I love those old school reels… oh - I don’t know if I would have spent $250 on the Beast though… at $135 I feel it’s a good buy.
