When they describe these mundane occasions you can always tell that at least one of them felt the same emotion irl, since they reproduce it so vividly. Great acting but also great writing
Too relatable in retail. I've been a carer/caterer/ESL-teacher/sales-assistant and something about retail makes people behave like they are 14 year old girls gossiping constantly behind peoples backs instead of actually talking directly. Doesn't matter about age either, in fact the older (literally people in their 60s) and longer they've worked in retail the more like this they are it's bizarre. Literally a 60 something grandparent at work leaves me little notes about what I didn't do (without realising I was on a different duty and couldn't even do the thing, or wasn't even the one who did the thing wrong), and then when I try to have a grown up talk about it immediately runs away like a 13 year old.
This gave me anxiety on how much this reminded me of a similar situation I’ve been in. It’s all smiles in person, but anger is expressed through e-mail.
😆 Poor Alan gets my total sympathy! I had a coworker who sat in a neighboring cube, we literally shared a ‘wall’. I could roll my chair back about a foot to lean around the divider and see her. She would wait until I was on a call and then send me an email about whatever her latest gripe was. She’d always note ‘I was going to talk to you about this, but you’re on a call.’ Not to mention we have a chat function available. So, just to annoy her further, I’d reply to her emails via the chat. And, naturally, she’d email her reply… it was ridic. So, all the hugs for Alan!! 🤗
It'd be funny if you changed the interface each time. Shoot her some messages on Google Hangouts, throw in some Skype, then end it with some choice words in a nice-smelling letter with some candy.

"Okay, then, I didn't have any for you, and showed the work was done. I'm not sure I understand the problem." No, you are suppose to email them back. Next time, email them back. "Okay, are you certain you want me to do that?" Yes, just do it. Next time an email came, listing days we are to work, and I sent back, "Got it, printed, will do." You guessed it, still did it wrong. So glad I no longer work at the Tech call in center at UPS.

I remember an ex co-worker who first loudly asked everyone who was the one who accidentally left the door of the server door unlocked (it was me), before then sending a mail to the entire department to please take care never to leave the door of the server room unlocked. After me locking the door after him numerous times and only once politely asking him in person to be more careful about that.
being an email guy myself, i find it easier to put all info down into an email rather than talk to a person who tends to interrupt every single point you are trying to make... of course, emailing a person siting right next to you is taking this to another level
You guys are absolutely the best! Please never stop being great at literally everything!!! That you have as much range and variety as you do is no coincidence, talent like yours is immeasurable and rare, exceedingly so compared to today’s standard. You guys are seriously raising the bar when it comes to short skits on a tight budget, cause your stuff is better than much of what I see professionally done now adays on tv or Netflix movies, stuff like the CW shows, who have way more money and connections to everything needed to make something spectacular, yet fail to approach even mediocre, even on the best moments of top shows like flash or arrow, they were leaving everyone feeling like... ehh so meh... All of you guys are extremely talented and freaking genius! To be talented enough to make something special with what you have got, and people don’t even notice it’s done by guys who aren’t deep within the entertainment industry like folks who have all the stuff that makes these kinds of skits possible, but without any of it yourselves and no one even notices cause it’s so damn much better than those “real” actors, that is proof that your above the majority of up and coming talent not just in this platform either... In opposite of this skit I would tell my story. There are 3 of us working in one room. One guy is friendly and another one is really toxic (like Rowan), so if me or friendly_guy needs help with work we just text each other on e-mail, even though we are're sitting right in front of each other. It's definitely better than listening that we are "stupid af" or whatever
Almost 20 years ago, I shared an office with four other people doing software development. One day it was just me and another guy, everybody else was off doing something else. I was trying to finish up a project for a delivery the next day and was kind of stressed. The other guy gets a phone call on his cell phone and proceeds to yak away, distracting me from my work. After 20 minutes I had had enough. I figured this guy was gonna be ticked at me for asking him to take the rest of his call outside the room, so I had been reluctant to say anything to begin with. I figured instead of verbally asking him, it would be less disruptive to his call if I just DMd him via our work chat client. So I sent the chat asking if he wouldn't mind taking the rest of the call outside the room since he was on his cell phone anyway, and heard it "ding" on his computer. lol I turned to watch him lean forward, squint as he was reading it, and then get this look on his face. He says "what!?", then looks up at me and practically yells "F you! Blah blah blah". I was surprised and already annoyed and that sent me over the edge. I just blew up and was like "No, F YOU! Blah blah blah!" I can't remember if he left the room or if I did at that point. I do remember a few days later I happened to be leaving for the day and as I was walking out to my car, his wife had just picked him up at the curb. She said something like "Sorry he's such an ass." or something to that effect. Pretty sure he had been talking to her. lol ah, memories. Good times!
This brought back some deep memories of when I first started working fast food. When coworkers don't like you they really like to leave you out of convos and talk like this around you. It got better eventually and they started to like me. But it took 6 months.
They need to do a series where they're bullying Alan and he just tells them f-ck off and quits. Then we watch how Playtech fails without him there to run it and all three have to grovel back to him to get him back.
Just to go back to bullying him. "Well done loser" this is me to Alan. Sorry, please don't get it personal, I have been in Alan's shoes way to many times already. I wouldn't ever go back to work in a place like this, and while this is almost impossible, this is the reason why I choose to work for myself now-a-days. It is both rewarding and sane.

Unrelated, but I'm an IT guy, and it drives me crazy when I send people emails and they don't read it and instead come and bother me because they are too lazy to read the damn email. Some people just want to have their hand held through everything. This sketch is really funny though, and I love it. Adam is taking it to absurd levels.
Working in a government office for almost a decade, the best ones are the ones that come through as "As per my previous email..." or "If you require clarification on this please refer to the..."
sometimes I do that, but my office usually uses the reply function so its just scrollingdown a bit, and SOME PEOPLE have a tendency to ask questions that were already answered (they only respondto the last message and don't bother reading the entire chain if not familiar). More often then not, I'm just acting as a gopher between the supplier and the appropriate technical team, so its [my brief summary], [please see below]
This is so true. Working in a cinema, there are so many, especially young people, who can't even order tickets eye to eye properly. You can see how they cringe to have to talk in person to somebody. All conversations for them are via mobile, they can't really socialize anymore.
I know y'all are really only here for entertainment, but for the life of me, it really just brings me away from life for a second in a good thoughtful way. As a receiver of said emails I think I'd consider deleting each email after reading them so that I could carefully ignore any unimportant info XD see how long it takes for them to actually talk to me. Irl my whole office was used to receiving and deleting irrelevant annoyance emails at my previous office jobs. The worst but most amusing were the accidental 'reply All' to a company email.
Look at it from Adam's viewpoint: Confrontation can be scary. And there is no "backspace" in a face-to-face conversation. Plus, doing it by email creates a paper trail which can be referenced later in the case of continued issues. All this goes beyond the joke and can/does happen in real life. Also, he's probably still traumatized from multiple dealings with Karen. I can still hear him sobbing.
Yep, this is exactly the experience I had at my last workplace a few weeks before I got fired, just the tension I felt whenever I entered the room, all conversations would stop, and everyone would be short and blunt in my interactions with them (e.g. such as when I asked how are things?) But then I'd get emails written very matter-of-fact with certain criticisms (e.g. it has come to my attention that you arrived 5min after your starting time, this is unacceptable, blah blah). Getting fired just came out of left field for me, just got called into a meeting one morning and told my employment with them was terminated due to not fitting in with their work culture?? I mean what does that even mean?

I believe Alan's used to stacking the old boxes on top of the new boxes, being entirely unaware that the new box smell only lasts about 2 hours when properly preserved. He must have missed Rowan's orientation.
For what it's worth, it can be useful to leave a paper trail when it comes to conflict in the workplace. That way you can prove that the matter was discussed and exactly when it was discussed.

I knew just from the title this one would annoy me but I watched it anyway. It hits on one of my hugest pet peeves. Passive aggressive people drive me frikken nanners.
But text lacks tone, facial expression and body language. It is nowhere near as expressive. Easier yes, better is arguable. I fail constantly at text based communication because the lack of cues and inability to nuance my words with suggestion. It honestly gets me into constant trouble. Not t mention it can be considered rude to not give someone the recognition of their presence in this situation. Adam was effectively ignoring Alan, and even blowing him off. By continuing to message h when asked to stop and refusing to acknowledge his pleas to communicate in another way he was being unreasonable and forced his methods on Alan. Not to mention people tend to be less respectful when they have the keyboard as a barrier between them and others. When people don't have to look someone in the face they can become mindful, for example, the internet.
Up to a point, there are (in my opinion) situations where sending an email to a colleague within 5 meters (to name a number) would be allowed: - When the recipient is very busy with something and the email doesn't have high priority. - Sending background/context prior to walking over to said colleague. - Sending links with suggestions for a team-outing or surprise party for another nearby colleague. - Invitations to (online) meetings. There may be more situations where sending an email to a nearby colleague has merit, I can't directly think of any right now, but other than that I agree with your statement.

As funny as it might seem, I had a coworker once who did exactly that - she sent emails to me when I was sitting IN FRONT of her, most of the time to mention silly things like 'please close the door'. Aaaah... I miss toxic environments so much.

In opposite of this skit I would tell my story. There are 3 of us working in one room. One guy is friendly and another one is really toxic (like Rowan), so if me or friendly_guy needs help with work we just text each other on e-mail, even though we are're sitting right in front of each other. It's definitely better than listening that we are "stupid af" or whatever

Almost 20 years ago, I shared an office with four other people doing software development. One day it was just me and another guy, everybody else was off doing something else. I was trying to finish up a project for a delivery the next day and was kind of stressed. The other guy gets a phone call on his cell phone and proceeds to yak away, distracting me from my work. After 20 minutes I had had enough. I figured this guy was gonna be ticked at me for asking him to take the rest of his call outside the room, so I had been reluctant to say anything to begin with. I figured instead of verbally asking him, it would be less disruptive to his call if I just DMd him via our work chat client. So I sent the chat asking if he wouldn't mind taking the rest of the call outside the room since he was on his cell phone anyway, and heard it "ding" on his computer. lol
I turned to watch him lean forward, squint as he was reading it, and then get this look on his face. He says "what!?", then looks up at me and practically yells "F you! Blah blah blah". I was surprised and already annoyed and that sent me over the edge. I just blew up and was like "No, F YOU! Blah blah blah!"
I can't remember if he left the room or if I did at that point. I do remember a few days later I happened to be leaving for the day and as I was walking out to my car, his wife had just picked him up at the curb. She said something like "Sorry he's such an ass." or something to that effect. Pretty sure he had been talking to her. lol
ah, memories. Good times!
This brought back some deep memories of when I first started working fast food. When coworkers don't like you they really like to leave you out of convos and talk like this around you. It got better eventually and they started to like me. But it took 6 months.

Unrelated, but I'm an IT guy, and it drives me crazy when I send people emails and they don't read it and instead come and bother me because they are too lazy to read the damn email. Some people just want to have their hand held through everything. This sketch is really funny though, and I love it. Adam is taking it to absurd levels.

Working in a government office for almost a decade, the best ones are the ones that come through as "As per my previous email..." or "If you require clarification on this please refer to the..."
sometimes I do that, but my office usually uses the reply function so its just scrollingdown a bit, and SOME PEOPLE have a tendency to ask questions that were already answered (they only respondto the last message and don't bother reading the entire chain if not familiar).
More often then not, I'm just acting as a gopher between the supplier and the appropriate technical team, so its [my brief summary], [please see below]

This is so true. Working in a cinema, there are so many, especially young people, who can't even order tickets eye to eye properly. You can see how they cringe to have to talk in person to somebody. All conversations for them are via mobile, they can't really socialize anymore.

As a receiver of said emails I think I'd consider deleting each email after reading them so that I could carefully ignore any unimportant info XD see how long it takes for them to actually talk to me. Irl my whole office was used to receiving and deleting irrelevant annoyance emails at my previous office jobs. The worst but most amusing were the accidental 'reply All' to a company email.

Look at it from Adam's viewpoint: Confrontation can be scary. And there is no "backspace" in a face-to-face conversation.
Plus, doing it by email creates a paper trail which can be referenced later in the case of continued issues. All this goes beyond the joke and can/does happen in real life.

Yep, this is exactly the experience I had at my last workplace a few weeks before I got fired, just the tension I felt whenever I entered the room, all conversations would stop, and everyone would be short and blunt in my interactions with them (e.g. such as when I asked how are things?) But then I'd get emails written very matter-of-fact with certain criticisms (e.g. it has come to my attention that you arrived 5min after your starting time, this is unacceptable, blah blah). Getting fired just came out of left field for me, just got called into a meeting one morning and told my employment with them was terminated due to not fitting in with their work culture?? I mean what does that even mean?
That they wanted their buddy to have your job, so they made up bullshit about you...

I knew just from the title this one would annoy me but I watched it anyway. It hits on one of my hugest pet peeves. Passive aggressive people drive me frikken nanners.

Its so much easier to text someone your issues with them. Easier to form your thoughts if you don’t like confrontation.
But text lacks tone, facial expression and body language. It is nowhere near as expressive. Easier yes, better is arguable. I fail constantly at text based communication because the lack of cues and inability to nuance my words with suggestion. It honestly gets me into constant trouble. Not t mention it can be considered rude to not give someone the recognition of their presence in this situation. Adam was effectively ignoring Alan, and even blowing him off. By continuing to message h when asked to stop and refusing to acknowledge his pleas to communicate in another way he was being unreasonable and forced his methods on Alan. Not to mention people tend to be less respectful when they have the keyboard as a barrier between them and others. When people don't have to look someone in the face they can become mindful, for example, the internet.

How about a mandatory prison sentence for people who send emails to a person right next to them. I would sign the petition.
Up to a point, there are (in my opinion) situations where sending an email to a colleague within 5 meters (to name a number) would be allowed:
- When the recipient is very busy with something and the email doesn't have high priority.
- Sending background/context prior to walking over to said colleague.
- Sending links with suggestions for a team-outing or surprise party for another nearby colleague.
- Invitations to (online) meetings.
There may be more situations where sending an email to a nearby colleague has merit, I can't directly think of any right now, but other than that I agree with your statement.
