Tauranga Is a narrow peninsula. You can walk right off the ship to the beach, town and more. A shuttle is not required to exit the pier.
From the port, cross via Banks St to Maungauni Rd (10min walk) for shopping and restaurants.
Continue to the far side of the peninsula (20 min walk) to access beach and miles
of shore side walking paths.
In addition, walk 20 minutes up Harbor beach. Hike to the top OR around the base of Mount Maunganui for great views. Remember layers, water and sunscreen!
If hiking isn’t your thing, relax in the natural hot salt pools at Mount Hot Pools. Full of minerals and good for anything that ails you.
