I always give Byleth to Ivy. Having a flying Goddess Dancer is 10/10. Plus I always find she struggles with Speed and Hit.

Teach us! Emblem of the Academy!
Byleth is easily one of the most versatile Emblems in this game IMO. Mainly because his first weapon is different Relics for each class type in the game. This allows Byleth to be useful on any character no matter what. The only thing I dislike about Byleth on Dragon units is Aymr which is a heavy weapon. So Alear’s build has to be high enough to not be affected in terms of speed.
The Sword of the Creator is a 1-2 Dragon slaying weapon, it’s very useful against some very f the main bosses in the game.
Divine Pulse can really make a difference if your character has high luck.
But Goddess Dance is easily one of the best Engage Skills in the game. Dancing for 4 Adjacent units (Seadall as a Dancer included) allowing for a lot more turns. The boost in stats from it as well DEFINITELY makes it even more busted.
Finally when Adjacent to a unit with the Three Houses Bracelet, they give the unit with the Bracelet and extra turn. So combine this with a character like Lady Anna (whose skill grants Gold with every kill if lucky enough), meaning that you can rack up a crap ton of money when doing this. Not just that, but this combo can blaze through maps and even potentially wreck the Final Bosses of both the main game and Fell Xenologue with ease.
Byleth was already a powerful Emblem for the support he provides, but combined with Seadall’s real dancing and the Three Houses Bracelet, I argue that Byleth may be the strongest Emblem Ring in the game IMO
Byleth is voiced by Zach Aguilar. The voice of Koichi from Jojo part 4, Geno from One Punch Man and Tanjiro Kamado from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Effective: Dragon has questionable usage in Engage since dragons and fell dragons are classified differently.

Byleth seems just made for Sages, with the Magic and Speed bonuses being helpful as well as buffing their offensive staffing with Divine Pulse+ and the luck bonus, on top of Thyrsus. I do think it’s worth mentioning that in a DLC metagame Instruct is basically worthless, as Chrom’s Rally Spectrum+ is an inheritable +4 boost in the same radius that you can use when not engaged. Units like Lindon and Saphir who otherwise aren’t the most useful have enough SP to inherit it immediately, and then can take on a dedicated support role for the rest of the game (especially if reclassed to Griffin for staff and flight) with other skills like Reposition, while saving SP books for other characters to weapon power stack

Byleth is a strange Emblem that can never really truly be "fully utilized" since he manages to simultaneously support two completely separate playstyles. That said, if you're talking about units that Byleth is "made" for, it's Sage Anna specifically. By far this gets the most match-for-match pound-for-pound mileage out of Emblem Byleth, with the increased Luck complimenting her passive as well as Divine Pulse allowing an already fairly consistent unit to be even more consistent, the passive Magic and Speed stats both being something she wants, Thrysus giving her much-appreciated range, and Vajra-Mushti allowing her to not be gutted by being Silenced in the situations where that matters. The only useful thing of his that you don't really utilize this way is Instruct, as, of course, it's not possible to utilize both of those things within the same turn anyway.
Or you can just turn your Not Manaketes into Not Rally Bots.

I recently found him to be really useful on royal knights. (Assuming you have lance power on that unit). Horse units will get the Dimitri lance, which will get insane damage on its own due to its MT effect, and even more so with lance power. The extra magic he gives is nice or healing and Flame lance damage too. Royal knight stats really work well with the other Byleth engage weapons as well. But ontop of that, +10 dex is universally useful (and if you happen to have a mage cannon it is a straight up 10 damage increase). I made Nel a royal knight and it was super useful. The +10 dex is great for hit rate, 10%, 5% crit and for helping proc those class skills (luna, sandstorm, grasping void)

Found that byleth fixes a lot of Celine’s issues - sword power and her high luck growth go hand in hand with her spd, strength and magic growth for high speed power damage on sword of the creator

Byleth is such a weird one. Their inherited skills are super cheap, so i think they are useful to give a mid game filler unit who you don't plan on investing in further. Mentorship buffing your other units is a nice touch.
Divine pulse improving hit rates with staves is actually really good, especially since staff users tend to have high luck. Wish they would have told me that for my first run.
The only thing i can say good about art focus is that my framme really needed it. I had her running erika punching things into oblivion at endgame, but her low health combined with flashing fist art damage buffs means she died to anything. I don't remember the engraving I ran, but it improved her damage instead of improving accuracy (a mistake in hindsight). In that case, missing the first or second punch would often just kill her, so I actually did run art focus 3 on her at endgame.
Honestly, I think Byleth's main problem is that the emblem can't decide what kind of unit wants it. You want a high strength and magic unit to make best use of the fists and sword. You DON'T want qi adept since their gem is god awful. You want a unit who is fine with spending a turn dancing or rallying instead of leveraging their own strengths.
Alear likes to use byleth for the rally spectrum, but aymir kinda conflicts with the typical alear playstyle. Luin and areadbar are great for fliers and cavs, but rally res and dex both suck. I can't find a good backup to use blutgang (warrior fogado?).
Is this really just Ana's emblem? I think specifically building a unit to actually use everything this emblem gives is a fun idea, at least.

Best Byleth user is Yunaka, +5 speed is situationally better or worse than +3 to all stats making them the joint best instruct bonus, Goddess Dance and instruct are far more important than the Engage weapon, and Failnuahgt is the second best Engage weapon anyway, Thieves surviviability as dodge-tanks, mobility with pass, makes them better than archers (plus 1-2 range is better than bow-lock obvi while Yunaka still has flier-killer utility due to Failnaught) and Yunaka has canter for 12-17 making her better than Zelkov in this role (and well always but hey that's another argument.)

      @@Luigidreamteamfan Alycryst bad tho.
Seriously Yunaka's better for this with higher mobility, suriviability with her AS meaning she won't get doubled and higher avoid, and 1-2 range with the option of Engaging for bow usage just being better than bow-lock, also her personal skill syncs beautifully with 1-3 range with crit daggers as it makes finding a terrain tile to attack an enemy from easier. That's a minor aside though, really the other stuff is the big reason why Yunaka is the best choice for this role, Alycryst you drop for Fogado.
