I’m ill, but your enthusiasm makes me smile. That is not a small thing. Thank you. I wonder how many smiles you spread around the world with each video. That is a great thing to achieve.
You can make any amp sound great. It's in you. I don't know what it is but it's in you. Thanks to you and some certain guys at Anderton's I bought a guitar and an amp.
As a bass player, I've witnessed the greatness of these Katana amps many times and seen many happy guitar players NOT struggling with their sound. The day Boss makes a +500 watt bass head, I'll rush out and try it.
I love my little 50 watt Katana. Little in size but large in sound. I also love you for all that you do for us your youtube family. I have three maybe four favorite online guitar coaches, teachers, whatever. You are number one. I still go thru your Rory teachings constantly trying to improve as Rory has got to be amongst the most difficult styles to achieve. A massive thank you from me to you Dave.
Gday Dave Im originally from Lincolnshire many moons ago now live in Australia. You are a proper character and obviously a great bloke and talent . We are all so fortunate to live on the only planet known yet to have life and we live in an amazing time where we can all get access to seeing exceptional people like yourself . Never doubt your value or worth mate mate it obviously Huge ! Keep up the good work and ignore the obstacles .
I bought my Orange CR60 on your review. After a coupole years I traded it for a Katana Artist MKII Combo on your review. I've never been happier with an amp.
Brilliant stuff! (As ALWAYS)! Love your comment about getting old(er) and not being able to carry big cabs about. I'm a 70 year old gigging guitarist with serious back problems. I've not gone the Katana route yet, though I'm sure it will happen at some time. However, I DO own/use what could be described as the Katana's predecessor, in the guise of Roland 30W and 60W Cubes. They don't DO as much as the Katana range, but, for an impoverished old man with a knackered back, they're not far behind!
Ive had a couple of digital amps and they sucked ! I can honestly say the Boss Katana Mkll is everything you need, They sound awesome and feed back better than any of my tube amps. I bought one 100 watt dent and scratch combo 1x12 wish i would have bought the head version but what a great amp. No wonder there the best selling amp in history so far
We, I should be thanking you Dave. My guitar playing and music knowledge has improved with your help in so many ways. Your videos are so alive and rich. This amp it's too much for what I need but still I enjoyed so much watching you!
Awesome Dave! Boss's COSM is SOOOOOOOOO underated and taken for granted! I hope nothing but more good stuff happens to you, stay positive and keep up the hard work, it pays off sooner or later!
Boss. It’s an appropriate name for the company, they wouldn’t even know how to spell second best. That amp and your demonstration of it are absolutely bang on. I love the Katana Artist, I have a combo. I also love a 4X12 so that head is perfect. Plain and simple, Boss do great gear. Next up for me will hopefully be a Katana 110B for when I go to the dark side.
I have a Katana 50Mk II and I love it!!! It is the only amp that would help me with a bad noise electricity coming into my house, the NR built inside is helping me enough so I don’t go crazy 🤪. I recently bought a Boss Blues Driver BD-2 and in Clean mode get better. Marry Christmas Dave!!
The artist in a head version is the bomb. Stunning playing dave again... this is why they ask you to demo man sales will spike through the roof. I have literally just bought my first artist a mk1 after listening to you playing on the amp before and its incredible.. after having the mini/ 50 / 100 and 100 head it's trumps them Keep up the awesome content
I bought my Boss Katana MKII based solely off of your demonstration a few years ago. I still love it and play it all the time. Easily the best value I've ever gotten from any piece of gear I've ever purchased. Cheers!
Great to see a very happy Dave! Looking forward to the in deep review, just a thought but could you go from the initial set up through to shaping and storing tones to the foot switch please..... Ta very much in advance.....
I think the 212's are an even better deal. If you need decent cabs for the money, a pair of them can really move some air. 16 ohms seems to unload the speakers a bit and they sound better to my ears than any of the single 12's.
I just got mine and waiting on the usb port adapter for my iPad and phone so no tone software and have watched all your other videos and wish you would have shown your amp setting like the Peter green short you did with Eric Clapton and blues breaker video and SRV without the tone software as I dialed in your Peter green settings and love it..keep rocking and thank you🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻
I had a Katana 50 MK2 but then I switched to Bugera G5 Tube Amp and man...The tone is so much better! DIgital amps are fun but true tube amp is unbeatable.
Maybe you could convince Boss to send you the matching cab as well :D Heard it is quite good Btw, I just love your videos. I myself am a beginner guitarist (started around half a year ago) but you always remind me to just sit down and enjoy playing. Keep up the good work!
Hi Dave. That was FUN! Let’s face it, man, all you need is that amp, Mr White, sell the rest, buy a lorry that will double-up as a stage , then hit the road as “The Dave Simpson Travelling RoadShow” ??!!! I can see it now.. 🚛♥️🌅🎸😁🎼🎵🎶💐🤔
you are such a fantastic player. Love your groove... nice amp btw. I'm tryng to get my hands on a Artist combo insteed of a regular Katana, just for the front panel only.
Dear Dave, it's wonderful, all your tests and presentations fill me with admiration, because your guitar skills are magical and your enthusiasm inspiring. My wallet hates you though. It's largely thanks to you that out of so many options I ended up buying a Fender Tonemaster Princeton Reverb amp. But, as we know, guitarists are the peacocks of musicians, always looking for new gear, I thought about buying a tube amp, a Marshall SV20H, which you raved about. Then this test comes along, and I find myself thinking about buying one of these, perhaps in combo form. So me and my wallet would actually be grateful if you had said at the end of the video: Peter, this is not for you, keep practicing! :-) :-) :-)
What an unalloyed honestly joyful video. A pleasure to watch! If I ever learned to play guitar with 0.001% of your ability, I’d definitely buy one of these magic boxes 😂 Nice” Dave! ❤👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🖖❤️
Hi Dave great video as always. Always love your content. I’ve not been on in a while been in a bad place but managing to crawl out of it. Keep the videos coming and hopefully you can get some gigs for a gig vlog I love them so good 👍🏻
Check out Dave....so happy!!👍👌 The Katana amp sounds great but everything seems to under your fingers. Regardless you do need a REAL STRATELLY made by a great luthier because you rocked the heck out of that beast...im just sayin' 😂🙏👍👌
Awesome vid man, could u do a vid in comparison to the mkII standard head (it has internal speakers and seems like a bargain) & also if you can get your hands on a GX 100 how does that compare tonally going into the front of a tube amp compared to the Katana?? Just a couple thoughts in my mind 🤔 keep up the great content Dave, you’re a legend!!
Did they send you the waza cab to go with it? So excited. I rarely watch unboxings but your joy is palpable. At this rate though we'll be just seeing you in a pile of speakers from far away " this is my new amp." Was that some Dani California in there
Awesome as allways David 👍🙏😊 If you could perhaps compare A short sound video between The 100 mk2 head and the artist head Just courious if the sound is the same. Just features are more at artist. I am sitting on the fence Artist or 100 head Thank you so much 🎉
There are many 'gifted' Guitarists around the world, both past and present... Names and Names and Names... BUT... You Davy Boyo set a Height, Length and Breadth for aspiring Guitarists to aspire to ! Just as well your not a "High Jumper" in the Olymics cause the "Bar" would be way up there ! Would "Luvv" to hear the 'BulletStrat' through that "Boss"... 🤠... VG... ! Mr Flibble is very HAPPY !
11:52ish: I feel "mean" for being critical about anything, but right around the time you stated "I'll add more reverb" was when I was thinking "I wish I could hear the actual sound of that amp, but it's submerged under a dozen fathoms of reverb". Now I feel BAD. 😞 I'm such a bastard.
Well definitely it’s a YES! And it’s not all that pricey and Katana has a cab that can bundle with it for those of us without a cab. It’s so clean and sleek like the Fender you turned into a head. I have a question-which do you prefer this Katana Artist MKII or the Nux you reviewed recently? They’re both awesome. 👍☮️🌞🎸❤️
I wouldn't mind trying one out, it sounds mint here, but it's like 50% more expensive in my country and I'm not sure it's worth the extra money over the standard Katana 100w head? Also for the price it gets me wondering if it's going to be a better choice than some of the valve heads in that price bracket like Orange OR-15, EVH III LBX, Marshall DSL20RH, Blackstar HT20RH etc etc.
Coold demo.. What would be the advantage of a preamp versus the combo? Because like you I already have the MK1.. Because according to Rob Chapman The Brown setting on a Mk1 or MK2, is very close to the tone you can get from a Marshall..
I’m ill, but your enthusiasm makes me smile. That is not a small thing. Thank you. I wonder how many smiles you spread around the world with each video. That is a great thing to achieve.
Hope you feel better ! 🙏
@@sirvicemanone Thanks. :-)
Hope you get better!

Turned my RUclips notifications on because of Dave. Awesome guy and awesome guitar player. Very inspiring
Dave is awesome! Such a kind, creative, gentle, beautiful soul!

I have the Artist combo...so so versatile.
Great demo. I've had my Artist MK2 Head for a couple months now and I'm still finding cool new sounds out of it.
"Just messing around" is the way so many great riffs and songs were written.
Brilliant stuff! (As ALWAYS)! Love your comment about getting old(er) and not being able to carry big cabs about. I'm a 70 year old gigging guitarist with serious back problems. Awesome of Boss for sending this head. I've been looking at Boss amps lately this will maybe make me pull the trigger on buying one.
We, I should be thanking you Dave. My guitar playing and music knowledge has improved with your help in so many ways. Your videos are so alive and rich. This amp it's too much for what I need but still I enjoyed so much watching you!
Said it before and I'll say it again....sweet.👍 your videos are always full of gratitude.
Awesome Dave! Boss's COSM is SOOOOOOOOO underated and taken for granted! I hope nothing but more good stuff happens to you, stay positive and keep up the hard work, it pays off sooner or later!
Can't wait for you to show us the full playing review. If I had the cash for one of these and a Cab I'd buy one but I'm saving for the 100watt combo
Sounding profound. Awesome Dave.
Sounds fantastic! It seems any amp combined with Mr White sounds incredible…
As much as I love watching Dave he's going to say anything positive about anything that gets sent to him that's how he makes his living
Mine arrived last week...the same thing happened to me the moment I got it plugged in... unbelievable!!!😮
Hi Dave, is your Artist head now your main amp? Mine is...
Dave, A Great Demo Here Man, Thanks, Cousin Figel
Wonderful....mine arrives this week....love your enthusiasm...

Boss struck gold when they made the Katana. I was skeptical at first, but then got one and now encourage others to do the same.

Hi Dave; thanks for the upload. Love your channel and the great music you play. Have a great day :)
Outstanding!! Been dying to try one of these. Thx Dave, for this video! Cheers!
Thanks for this vid Dave. I'm thinking of getting an Artist. I'll check your other Artist review as if I get one it'll be the combo
👍 Just bought one, it arrives Friday 👍
You're awesome Dave...love your enthusiasm. Hope your band goes far 🎸🎵 ✌️
I am anxious for your review!
It's like you're not having any fun at all!
Good stuff, Dave. You're A lucky man.
Sounds great Dave, and loved the lorks a lordy Richard Richard quote! love you Dave

nice Boss, Dave is the right guy for this amp !! :) and thanks to him I think it is my next amp !
not here for the product, expecting dave jam! Have an amazing weekend bro ♥

Loving the amp but the Red Dwarf top seals the deal for me 😍
Your channel is by far my favourite on RUclips! Love all the content you make mate! You playing inspires me to get better at guitar 😊
Happy Dave!🙂… enjoy this awesome amp thank you Boss!🙂👍🎸
Katana head is the best value in amps today. The Mk-II Artist edition is sweet!
I think the 212's are an even better deal. If you need decent cabs for the money, a pair of them can really move some air. 16 ohms seems to unload the speakers a bit and they sound better to my ears than any of the single 12's.
Damn you Dave. I bought the MK2 artist because of you, now I must buy the artist Head and cab.

could listen to it and you all day! just fabulous 🤘👍

i have the 2x12 katana cab, really dark sounding but shines at high volumes
Many good things can come from simply sitting down and enjoying playing!
Nice one dave . Sounding great

Boss amps are class.... the boss next tone is my favourite though so far...omg it's class.... would love to see you do a video on it 😀
To humble Dave keep up the good work
I have a regular mk ii head and I wish I'd gotten this one for at least the front controls! The top controls are a pain in the rear.
What an unalloyed honestly joyful video.
A pleasure to watch!

Good gravy indeed. If I had the MkII Artist head and 212 cab I would end my GAS then and there.
Turn it up!
Hi Dave great video as always. Always love your content. I’ve not been on in a while been in a bad place but managing to crawl out of it. Keep the videos coming and hopefully you can get some gigs for a gig vlog I love them so good 👍🏻
Cool, the OG Simpson Strat, MrWhite
I love my Artist MK2 and I'm also extremely lucky to also use a podgo with it that I plug into the amp in at the back for a bit of variation
Check out Dave....so happy!!👍👌
The Katana amp sounds great but everything seems to under your fingers.
Regardless you do need a REAL STRATELLY made by a great luthier because you rocked the heck out of that beast...im just sayin' 😂🙏👍👌
With all the people who got Katana because of Dave's reviews (including myself) he should get his own signature Katana!!!
We all need more head!
C#m, yes!!! Very emotional key for whatever reason!!
So, next step connect the head and the combo as master/slave? Stereo awesomeness!
I was tempted by this just because the knobs being on the front. No other reason 😂
Very Cool, Thankyou. Awesome Sound and reaction. Cheers

I have that same amp my amp is the combo artist 100 I also have katana 50 great amps😃
I have this too! Great Amp. Best yet Boss ! EXCEPT !! where's the built in guitar tuner? Icing on the cake !
I got my Katana Mk2 50w for my birthday(60 going on 25). I am like why did i buy the other amps. As you said Dave, its the bees knees.
11:52ish: I feel "mean" for being critical about anything, but right around the time you stated "I'll add more reverb" was when I was thinking "I wish I could hear the actual sound of that amp, but it's submerged under a dozen fathoms of reverb".

that looks sweet!
I own a Orange Rocker 30 but it's your fault my bedside table is now a Katana 50, cheers!
I just wish someone would make heads with built in ashtrays & drink holders to save the tolex.
Nobody smokes these days. They stopped putting ashtrays in cars because of this.

you always make me smile with your video's hahahaha

Really nice
I had the MK1 head for a couple years, then upgraded to the MK11. Do I really need to upgrade to the Artist head?
Worth every penny i threw my cash at Boss. Take it !! Take it !!
My next amp is definitely gonna be a boss katana
It must have some something built into fight the single coils noise? Processing?
Nope. Just the volume knob on the guitar. :)
@@thedavesimpson I just checked, it has BUILT IN NOISE GATE!
@@audiomonster303 it does, but no panel knob to adjust it. You have to use the tonestudio software.
@@PaulCooksStuff but its default is set to on. so it was on unless you turned it off
@@audiomonster303 yes, but the default is also so low I still get obvious single coil hum. You'd have to turn it up from default to make it effective.
